I've been spending a lot of time at the marina sprucing up the Minnie Rose for opening day festivities. Pam and I will be the Flagship for the IOBG District 1 at Seattle Yacht Club and PC Gunter will host the VYC Bridge. We hope to see some Vikings from the log boom on "O Dock"! VYC will be looking good at the parade. Hope you re getting all the prep work done on your boat for the spring VYC boating events. Check out the cruise schedule, pack up some grub and brew, and get out on the water for some fun times. Vice Steve Larson Steviebill@comcast.net - From The Rear Commodore Greetings to All, The cruise schedule is set, the weather s looking good and now all we need to do is get our boats ready. It s a good time to do some pre-season maintenance and spring cleaning. I ll be going tomorrow to pressure wash and do some cleaning. A few things I do are to actuate all of the seacocks, clean strainers, check all hoses, fuel lines, check oil in engines, oil in marine gears, check coolant, drip less shaft seals, inspect rudder post packing, check belts, change water filters, look for signs of corrosion on the shore power connections, etc, etc, etc An ounce of prevention will assure better times on the water. We still have an opening for cruise captain (s) for the in-between cruise at Penrose State Park. If you are interesting in hosting that cruise please contact me. Our first cruise will be at Des Moines Marina on March 6 th -8 th. It looks like we will have limited participation, but it s not too late to come. We have eight slips reserved and you don t have to pay until you get there. The next cruise will be at Arabella s Landing and you do need to call (253) 851-1793 to give them your credit card to reserve your spot. Wayne Jr Rear Wayne Davidson waynerd5@live.com
