Attending an FFI international conference Dec. 6: Christmas Party, Canton, Wileman/Hunsberger home Jan. 17, 2016 Monthly Meeting, Windermere, Cumming, Traveling in France Sept. 2016 FFI International Conference in Marrakesh, Morocco Be Sure to Mark Your Calendars! President s Letter Whew! We just finished the Lake Hartwell/Atlanta Exchange coupled with the 30 th Anniversary Community Dinner and, despite the rain; it was a biased, unqualified success. The goal of the exchange was for our local Georgia club members to get to know one another and open up opportunities for travel not just with our Club but also with Lake Hartwell and Atlanta, and vice-versa. Almost every

member that was able, contributed in some or more than one way planning and invitations, food prep/ordering, door prizes, slide show/photos, publicity, dinner menu, decorations, home/day/dinner hosting, etc. Of special mention is the great support I received from Linda Kadechuck and Marie Williams; on behalf of our Club I publicly thank them again and again for overseeing arrangements for the exchange and the reception/dinner! The November meeting will be held on November 15 th (Ooh, that soon? I had better mark the calendar!) starting at 4:00pm at Provinos in Cumming. We will have a short business meeting with nominations for new officers (better be there or you might be nominated from the floor!), updates on plans for 2016 Incoming and Outgoing exchanges, 2017 international travel request, plans for Christmas party, and anything else I forgot to mention! Next International FFI Conference is in Marrakesh, Morocco in September 2016 how close to France, Huw? Important: to get the private Library Room at Provinos we need a minimum of 30. Please RSVP by phone (706 268-1072) or email (jpswaldrop@tds.net). Also you mature members of the Club, let Jeannette know if you have past experiences with going to an FFI International Conference and are willing to share your observations. Congratulations to our relatively new members Tony and Susan Hicks who had a great experience hosting this past week. And Tarby and Vivian Bryant are brand new members who officially joined us at the Community Dinner! I think we made a good impression at the event and may pick up a few more members from the Big Canoe community. As was briefly mentioned in the Newsletter last month, we lost a long-time member and friend of our Club in Frank Garner. Frank passed while many of us were in Costa Rica on an exchange last month but June Tredway said it was a well-attended service. The Garners had many friends and traveled widely with both our Club and the Atlanta Club. Even though Frank was wheelchair-bound in his later years, he and his Bobbie were always available to volunteer for a Welcome Reception. If you have not already done so, please consider an online donation in Frank s name to the Hospital Art project at this web link (http://www.hospitalart.org/index.php/dona te-now.html ) or the Big Canoe Chapel in care of the Missions at http://www.bigcanoechapel.org/giving/fina ncial-gifts/. Here is a hurry up and get well wish that goes out to both Jim and Jean Goggins who were recently in a car accident they are recuperating at home and hopefully will be able to join us at the November meeting. Attached with the Newsletter is a 2016 Membership Renewal form; please complete and bring to the November meeting or Christmas Party if you can. Membership still $20 per person or $40 for couples/family! No inflationary increases here We are starting the busy time of the year with a lot of holidays, parties, family and travel. I hope you can join us at the November meeting. If not, be sure to read the Newsletter and see what you missed! As always, I thank you for your help and continued support!

In Friendship, Indiana Bob Minutes of Meeting There was no Meeting in October; thus, no Minutes. I will always be grateful. I do hope that our paths cross again at some point - my goal is to stay involved with FF in a different way but still contribute as I can. I'll share a forwarding address at some point soon in the next two weeks as my last day will be next Friday but I have a special assignment to complete through about November 19th here. My best wishes and extreme appreciation to you both.
