The Plume The Chronicle of the Barony of Three Mountains Letter From Their Excellencies Greetings! Champions tournament was great! Thanks to KaldorNess for a successful event. Our new Champions are Thomas na Cork- Armored, Talbot- Rapier, Daegus "Horse Bane" Bearheart-Archery, Terbish- Youth Champion. Huzzah for our champions! The following persons passed the sergentcy trials and were inducted at Champions: Baroness Dafne Fraser- Sergeant, Millicent Isabella de la Bere- Courtier, Congratulations and welcome! Jill attended Coronation to witness Tiernan and Miranda ascend the Lion Throne, Huzzah!! Thanks to all who contributed to the Pennsic bag project. Ours appeared to be the most stuffed bag (maybe because it overflowed into a second bag) which means the wordfame of our artisans will be spread to kingdoms beyond Trimaris. A special thanks to Baroness Chrystal Moore for creating the bag and coordinating the largess gathering. We timely submitted our "State of the Barony," report to Their Majesties and Highnesses. Alfric s first "Baron s Night Out" to see The Last Airbender movie was a success. We had 8 people attending and a good time was had by all. The next Baron s Night Out is to see Laser Rush at OMSI July 30th. See the chat list for details. We are now accepting recommendations for next year's Honour Feast. You can recommend anyone for any reason and we will select from those recommended someone to receive a feast in their honour. Recommendations need to 3
The Plume The Chronicle of the Barony of Three Mountains Letter From Their Excellencies be submitted to us in writing prior to the October Honour Feast. We are in our second term as Baron and Baroness and we would like to encourage people to think about seceding us. To that end we are offering Baron and Baroness lessons (for lack of a better term). You can learn the day to day duties of a Baron(ess) including: how much does it cost? How much time is involved? What is needed to prepare for an event? How much space is required? The lessons may also include sitting in court seeing it from that perspective. Please contact us if you are interested. Progress: Storm Gods, DMDT, Archery Academy, Triggvy s War III, September Crown, Honour Feast, Yule, 12th Night In service to the Barony of Three Mountains and the Kingdom of An Tir, Baron & Baroness Three Mountains 4
Tiernan II & Miranda II Progress Forwarded on behalf of Their Majesties Greetings from the Sable Lion and Lioness, Tiernan and Miranda, Royal Progress We are both pleased to be able to serve An Tir once again. Our travel itinerary is well booked through Our reign. Please, see the list below of the events We are currently intending to attend. It is Our hope to meet many new faces and to reward those of Our populace who are deserving. We ask that each of you be Our eyes and ears in your local area or region so that you may bring Us the names of these worthy individuals. Please, use the on-line award recommendation process found at http://www.antir.sca.org/recommendations.php Include the length of time active in the society, branch, both mundane and SCA names, and the events that the recipient would be attending during Our reign. *** Check the spelling of the SCA name since this is what is used on the scrolls/charters. Please, check the Order of Precedence first to make sure the person does not already have the award. You may also need to ask around, since many of the awards have not been listed. the OP can be found at http://op.antirheralds.org/index.php Thank you all for your assistance. The Crown cannot bestow awards without folks taking the time to recommend those around them. For An Tir~ Queen Miranda II 5

It s not good L Basically the way the law reads now is if you brew something at home, it can only be consumed IN your home. It cannot be transported to be consumed elsewhere (and cannot be brewed outside the home). What this means for us is not only are we not allowed to judge beer and mead onsite that is home brewed but also we are not allowed to bring home brewed items to be consumed at events. The upside (it s a stretch I know) is that there are lawmakers working on this issue. If you d like to write to them you can write to your local representative or senator, or directly to the 2 most involved, who are Senator Prozanski and Rep. Mike Shaufler. Please don t have knee jerk reactions to this someone was doing their job. The law has been written, just not really interpreted until recently the timing is bad for us, for people who enter these items in fairs, etc. They hope to have it all cleared up before next summer with changes that will allow for us to do what we ve done in the past But for now, as far as competitions the only way, within the law, it can be allowed is if the judges travel from home to home to taste the entries Sorry this isn t the best news If you have any questions or need more information please don t hesitate to contact me.
