Bogus Basin must be a sustainable business: Preserve the old while developing the new ; Weatherproof against the variability of winter conditions; Manage operational costs through efficiency and sustainability best practices. As such, future operations will seek to: Focus on mountain recreation that supports a healthy and active lifestyle; Preserve the scenic beauty of Bogus Basin; Practice environmental stewardship through the implementation of programs focused on conservation and sustainability. Maintain and enhance the community use of the facility; Balance community use and additional tourism visitation that will provide the necessary revenue for continued financial viability of the operation. OPPORTUNITIES: EVENTS The existing events and festivals attract solid visitation. They also sell F&B, and give more people a reason to visit the mountain. As is the case at Bogus Basin, large or smaller scale events are often used as the initial anchor for summer visitation, allowing a temporary scale up the operation for the duration of the event. As the resort grows, these part-time activities may become full-time. 24
