VPRP Background & Components Voluntary Program provides greater benefits than a one-size-fits-all national standard initiated in September 2012 Five-year Program Period (Sep. 2012- Sep. 2017) Builds on industry's successes focusing leadership efforts on continuing meaningful and substantive pollution reduction progress Fundamental focus: communication, pollution reduction technology facilitation, goal-setting, progress documentation Program components: Outreach/information exchange Encourage R&D and deployment of technologies Characterize environmental benefits of technologies Develop quantitative pollution reduction goal Inventory technologies adopted during Program Period Compare environmental benefits of adopted technologies with the pollution reduction goal

VPRP Milestones Deliverables during the Program Period: September 30, 2012 Establish/Initiate Voluntary Program November 30, 2012 Initial Report: defined set of airports summary of outreach efforts conducted/planned September 30, 2014 Phase I Report: Update on activities that occurred or were planned since the Initial Report, focusing on: Information exchange and outreach Encourage technology development, testing, and commercially appropriate deployment Characterizing the environmental benefits of pollution reduction technologies Articulation of the quantitative pollution reduction goal
