Atlantic Brotherhood Fact Sheet Thursday, June 2 nd American BBQ at the Home of WM Andy Rice A casual gathering for the brothers of Churchill Lodge and their guests to become acquainted. The Churchill brothers will be cooking up a real American BBQ, with a variety of meats and side dishes. It is open to all guests of Churchill lodge, including women (although not children). Where 19375 Rosedale Court, Deephaven MN (about 25 minutes west of Mpls) are welcome anytime after 5 p.m. Dinner will start at around 6:00 p.m. and food will be served as it becomes ready. Transportation Important! For those driving, this is a short, dead end street with very limited parking. A shuttle lot has been set up at the northwest intersection of Vine Hill Rd and Excelsior Blvd. Nice Casual (golf shirts, etc.) In the event of rain, the party will move to Andy s spacious garage. Map Transportation will be provided for our guests from the hotel to the site, leaving the Radisson at 4:30p.m. Friday, June 3rd Paddleboat Dinner Cruise on the St. Croix River A 2.5 hour cruise on the Anastasia, an historic riverboat. Dinner will be served at 6:45 p.m. This will include: Roast pork w/ apple chutney, Cajun catfish, seasonal veggie, dinner rolls, and apple crumble for dessert. In the event of inclement weather there is an enclosed lower deck, as well as a canopy on the top deck. After dinner, Victoria Hartley, a representative from Padilla Cigar Company will give a short
presentation and hand out cigars for those who would like to try them, downwind, of course! Where Stillwater is one of the original settlements on the river, about 30 minutes directly east of Minneapolis by car. The boats dock at 525 South Main St which is within walking distance of the downtown shops. The Freight House is just north and an enjoyable spot for a pint. Several of us will be gathering in downtown Stillwater at 4 p.m. to do some sightseeing and shopping. All are welcome to join. Call the Concierge, (below) to find us. The boat leaves at 6:15 p.m. sharp! Please be there by 6 p.m. It returns to the dock at about 9:00 p.m. (Sunset 8:47 p.m.). Transportation There is free parking adjacent to the boarding area. The boat is handicap accessible. In the event of rain, the top deck has a canopy, or guests may stay on the completely enclosed first deck. The van will leave at 3:00 p.m. from the Radisson. We should arrive in Stillwater before 4:00 p.m. depending on rush hour. The van will depart once all guests have returned from the boat. No dawdling! Saturday, June 4 th British Master Mason Degree Demonstration at Scottish Rite Our brothers have received special permission from the United Grand Lodge of England to perform a first ever demonstration of their Emulation Work for the 3 rd Degree in Minnesota. It will be performed by a truly international group of British, Canadian, and American lodge officers. This will include explanations of the unique differences. A British tea will follow for those who are not continuing onto the Festive Board at the Minneapolis Club.
Where Minneapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite at 2011 South Dupont Avenue 11:30 Registration, 1:00 p.m. Gavel drops. Expect to finish by 5:00 p.m. Transportation There is a large parking lot next to the Scottish Rite and limited parking on the street. With attendance expected to be near 200, we recommend carpooling if possible. Able bodied brothers should park on the side streets. Those proceeding onto the Festive Board may leave your cars in the lot, but only if you have a means of returning after the banquet. Black/dark coat & tie and white gloves, and aprons. Note: You are encouraged to support our event by purchasing commemorative white gloves ($12) at the registration desk. It is appropriate to wear your own apron and jewel of office from any lodge, and Grand Reps may wear the jewel of their state, province or nation. Extra white aprons will be also available. Important! Admission requires a current dues card or known brother to vouch for you. Map Those participating in the degree will be provided with a van leaving at 8:30 a.m. from the hotel to the Scottish Rite temple for 9:00 a.m. rehearsal. For those who wish to go later, a second van will leave the hotel at 10:30 a.m. After the degree, the van will leave the Scottish Rite at 5:15 to take our guests over to the Minneapolis Club. Saturday, June 4 th Festive Board at the Minneapolis Club A unique Anglo-American version of our own table lodge at one of the finest dining venues in Minnesota, the Five Star Platinum Minneapolis Club. Dinner will be: Arugula Salad, Tournedos of Beef, Herbed Potato Cakes, Swiss Chard, Carrot Flan, and Chocolate Cake. Wine will be provided for each toast, with additional drinks available at the cash bar throughout the event. Where 729 Second Avenue South, Minneapolis 5:30 p.m. Social hour, 6:30 p.m. Seating Expected to end at 9:40 p.m. Transportation There is a large ramp with free parking immediately adjacent to the club (see map, below). Black/dark coat & tie (no apron or white gloves). Grand or Provincial officers may wear their jewels, as may Grand Reps. As the van will be retired for the evening, we will walk as a group from the Minneapolis Club, 4 blocks to the hotel, as shown on the map, below. This is a safe neighborhood, but we would prefer to accompany our guests if at all possible.
Saturday, June 4 th Ladies Excursion to the Mall of America Christine Rice and the wives of our members will have lunch together and spend the afternoon at the mall. This event is free and open to all ladies. Where The Mall of America is the largest indoor shopping center in the United States with over 400 stores, its own zip code, police force, and weather system. Our private 14 passenger van will depart from the Radisson Downtown Minneapolis at 11:00 a.m. for shopping and dining. The van will leave the MoA at 3:30 p.m. to return to the hotel to freshen up. The van will leave the hotel again at 5:30 p.m. for a short drive to the Minneapolis Club for social hour. Those not attending the Festive Board may take the Light Rail service back to downtown Minneapolis anytime up until about 10:00 p.m. Monday, June 6 th Master Mason Degree at Lake Harriet Lodge #277 Lake Harriet Lodge will be performing an excellent example of the Minnesota Preston-Webb degree. This lodge has earned a reputation for consistently solid degree work. Where 4519 France Avenue South, Edina The First Section begins at 4:30 p.m. Dinner is served at about 6:00 p.m.; with the Second Section of the degree to follow at 7:00 p.m. Expect this to finish at around 9:30 p.m. We may gather at a private home afterwards for refreshment and debrief. If you can t make the First Section, please join us for dinner and the Second Section. Dark coat & tie, any apron may be worn and extras will be provided.
