The similarities across the two properties are most striking with the hotel s turrets and front façade typical of the Victorian opulence which continues throughout the hotel s original interiors. During the 1980s the hotel underwent an extensive development with the addition of 100 new bedrooms and became a Mercure hotel in 2007. Guests to the hotel today can enjoy many of the original features and character while still enjoying the facilities and comfort you would expect of a 4-star hotel including on-site spa and leisure facilities plus an award-winning AA Rosette restaurant.
