You will be directed to your campsite and there you will unload your camping equipment and prior to setting up your campsite, you will be directed to move your vehicle to the designated parking spaces, and then continue setting up your tent etc. Please keep your areas tight as we have some large packs attending and we want to keep all of the scouts with their packs. The campsite size depends on the number of people registered on time for each pack so the earlier you register the better chance that you will have the right sized campsite for your Pack. Checkout/Departure from Camp All Packs, Scouts, and Scouters are encouraged to provide a campsite Worship Service. Please no camp breakdown or activities during the worship service. All Scouts and Scouters will leave their areas as clean as or cleaner than when we arrived. Packs are expected to clean their areas prior to departure. After you are packed up and the area is clean, see a CFC staff member to checkout.

MEDICAL FORMS AND TOUR PERMITS Per council direction, Cub Family Campout falls under the guidelines that require that all scouts and scouters have a Medical form (parts A & B only, not part C) filled out and available at the event. This should be done ahead of the event and given to your pack unit leader who will keep it on file until after the event. Tour permits should be submitted to the council office. Directions Location: Wickham Park Youth Area, 2500 Parkway Dr, Melbourne, FL 32935 SAFETY & HEALTH *****Important***** We will have a lot of new scouts, parents and leaders who may not be familiar with the BSA Safety Requirements attending this event. Cubmasters please ensure your scouts and parents have been briefed on BSA Safety Standards and the buddy system. 1. Buddy system to be used at ALL times. 2. No profanity, alcohol, fire arms, fire works or illegal drugs allowed at any Cub Scout activity. Smoking is not allowed in the presence of any scouts. If you must smoke please leave the group camping area. 3. Throwing of knives, axes, hatchets or similar items is prohibited. No machetes, sheath knifes or similar long bladed items are allowed. 4. No Scouts are to handle liquid fuel. Gas stoves may be used with adult supervision. 5. Closed toe and heel shoes will be worn at all times. 6. Cars are not allowed to remain in the campsites. Cars will be allowed in for dropping off equipment only. Drop off your equipment and then remove your vehicle before setting up any of your camping equipment. No driving in the activity or camping area will be allowed on Saturday until all activities are over and then only for picking up any camping equipment for campers not camping on Saturday night. 7. No swimming or playing in the pond is allowed except fishing. Yes there are alligators in the pond. 8. First Aid will have a station within the staff area. 9. Supervision of Minor Children: Parents, guardians or other adults in charge are responsible for the supervision of minor children. Children under 16 years of age must be

accompanied by an adult at all times. Children are not allowed to play and run around through occupied campsites, play in restrooms, or play unattended at the pond area. 10. Fires: Campfires are permitted in fire rings only. These fires must be attended at all times. Do not burn garbage in the campfire. Fallen dead wood ONLY may be used for firewood. Do not cut, nail into, or deface live trees or shrubs. I would suggest bringing your own campfire wood and container to burn it in. Food: We strongly encourage Packs to prepare their outdoor meals together. Every rank in Cub Scouts has a requirement or achievement in this area. Cooking fires are permitted in the campsites, as long as they are propane or charcoal-based grills. Involve your scout in planning the meals, buying the supplies, and prepping the food. CAMPSITES Campsites will be assigned to Packs based on pre-registration and unit size. Individual campers signing up late will be assigned a site Friday evening on a first come, first serve basis. You may not be camping with your Pack if you don t pre-register. Low Impact Camping: Each unit is expected to abide by the low impact camping guidelines. Your campsite should be left as though no camping took place. (Leave No Trace) Rules for use of Wickham Park for our camporee prohibit damaging or cutting vegetation in the area. Ground fires are not permitted. Off Limits Areas: Any camping areas not assigned to the scouts. Water: Water is available on site. Garbage disposal: Secure your garbage at night and dispose of garbage in an appropriate manner; garbage pick-up is not provided. Please place garbage in park provided dumpsters next to the fence or take it with you on the way out of camp. Latrines: A limited number of toilets and portable toilets will be available. Unit leaders should make sure that Scouts are aware that these facilities should be kept clean and not abused.
