PROJECT OVERVIEW Middle Improvements to Copperas Branch Park New trails on the east side of Copperas Branch Park, new beach areas, parking lots and other amenities New collector/distributor lanes between President George Bush Turnpike and Sam Rayburn Tollway Adding direct connector ramps to the north side of I-35E intersection with the Sam Rayburn Tollway South 18-mile reversible TEXpress toll (managed lane) system from Farmers Branch to north of Lewisville Lake New interchanges at Dickerson Parkway and Belt Line Road Bridge widening at Whitlock Lane, Crosby Road, Valwood Parkway and Valley View Lane Direct connections from LBJExpress managed lane system to the new I-35E managed lane system 8
TEXPRESS LANES Branded as TEXpress Lanes in the North Texas region Congestion management system with variable pricing Fixed rate schedule first six months, dyamic pricing thereafter Offers motorists choice, predictable travel and congestion relief The two lanes located in the center of the current roadway will be reversible Open southbound for morning rush hour, northbound for afternoon rush hour Lanes barrier separated and designed for limited traffic weaving 9

NORTH TEXAS BOULEVARD The North Texas Boulevard bridge was demolished in April. Connectivity was restored in mid-august with one lane in each direction and one turn lane The additional lanes are scheduled to open Feb. 20 One through lane in each direction Two designated turn lanes in each direction Work will continue into Spring with completion of the bridge prior to UNT commencement ceremonies Additional through lane in each direction A U-turn lane on each end of the bridge A 15-foot-wide pedestrian walkway on the east side 11
NORTH TEXAS BOULEVARD RAMP CLOSURES North- and southbound I-35E lanes have shifted onto temporary pavement at the North Texas Boulevard bridge with four feet of additional clearance Work removing the original roadway and constructing the new mainlanes in this area has begun The northbound entrance ramp from North Texas Boulevard and the southbound exit ramp to North Texas Boulevard are scheduled to open this spring The southbound entrance ramp from North Texas Boulevard is scheduled to reopen in February 12
MCCORMICK STREET The northbound exit ramp to McCormick Street will reopen in spring Southbound mainlane traffic is scheduled to be moved onto the new portion of the McCormick Street bridge in February Demolition of the center portion of the original bridge is scheduled in February McCormick Street has closed between the north- and southbound frontage roads through February Work on the expanded McCormick Street bridge is scheduled for completion in spring 13
RAMP CONSTRUCTION BETWEEN TEASLEY LANE AND US 377/FORT WORTH DRIVE The north- and southbound mainlanes between Teasley Lane and US 377/Fort Worth Drive are being widened Temporary exit ramp to Teasley Lane under construction. Traffic is scheduled to shift onto the newly completed outside pavement in February The north- and southbound ramps between Teasley Lane and US 377/Fort Worth Drive are being lengthened and widened Traffic will be shifted onto temporary pavement during this work and ramp access will not be interrupted The southbound entrance ramp from Teasley Lane is schedule to shift to permanent location this week Ramp construction in this area is scheduled for completion this spring New pavement under construction. 14
RAMP CHANGES AT LOOP 288/ US 77 BRIDGE Southbound US 77 entrance ramp Northbound mainlane traffic has shifted onto the US 77 bridge The southbound entrance ramp from US 77/Dallas Drive will be reconstructed and is scheduled to open in February The southbound frontage road south of Loop 288 has been widened to two lanes New southbound Loop 288 exit ramp 15
POST OAK DRIVE BRIDGE Connectivity across the Post Oak Drive bridge has been restored with one lane in each direction Work will continue on the bridge and the intersection through spring 2017 The completed bridge will have two lanes in each direction and two dedicated turn lanes in each direction 16
CORINTH-AREA NORTHBOUND TRAFFIC SHIFT The northbound lanes of I-35E between the U-turn by the Destiny Dallas RV park and Post Oak Drive are scheduled to shift west into their permanent alignment in February When this occurs the following ramps will shift to their permanent alignment: The exit ramp to Corinth Parkway (460) shifts Mayhill Road Exit (462) Entrance Ramp from Corinth Parkway Post Oak Drive Exit (461) Corinth Parkway Corinth Parkway Exit (460) The exit ramp to Post Oak Drive (461) reopens The entrance ramp from Corinth Parkway reopens The exit ramp to Mayhill Road (462) shifts U-turn 17
OAK DRIVE/LAKE DALLAS DRIVE Northbound frontage road will reopen in March Work continues on the northbound mainlanes north of Lewisville Lake and the new Oak Drive/Lake Dallas Drive intersection The new Oak Drive/Lake Dallas Drive intersection is scheduled to open in spring The southbound frontage road between Hickory Creek Road and Oak Drive will remain a two-way condition until Oak Drive/Lake Dallas Drive is opened The northbound frontage road in Lake Dallas is scheduled to reopen between Janet Court and Lake Dallas Drive in March The northbound mainlanes are scheduled to switch to their permanent location this spring 18
LEWISVILLE LAKE BRIDGE The southbound frontage road across the Lewisville Lake bridge will open by spring The northbound bridge is scheduled to reopen in spring When the project is complete: The new Lewisville Lake bridge will carry four southbound mainlanes, two reversible managed lanes, two frontage road lanes and a 10-foot-wide bike and pedestrian walkway The original Lewisville Lake bridge will carry four northbound mainlanes, two frontage road lanes and a 10-foot-wide bike and pedestrian walkway Work removing the stone fingers from the north side of the lake will begin in February The DCTA rail bridge will not be affected by the project 19
HIGHLAND VILLAGE ROAD/GARDEN RIDGE BOULEVARD The work on Highland Village Road at the southbound frontage road will continue through spring 2017 Removal of the temporary stone fill in the Lewisville Lake will begin this month. The removal of the material at the portion of the lake south of Highland Village Road is scheduled for February Work has begun on the new pedestrian bridge that will connect Copperas Branch Road and the Copperas Branch Park. Work on the park road and parking lot will begin in the next several months The park is scheduled for completion in mid-2017 The completed Garden Ridge Boulevard bridge is expected to open spring 2017 with two lanes in each direction and a turn lane in each direction 20
FOX AVENUE Beam placement for the Fox Avenue bridge scheduled for the weekend of January 27-28 Overnight mainlane and ramp closures between State Highway 121 Business and FM 1171/Main Street Overnight full closure of east- and westbound Fox Avenue North- and southbound frontage roads will be detoured to the Fox Avenue intersection 21
CORPORATE DRIVE/MAIN STREET WEEKEND CLOSURES Full, weekend closure of the Corporate Drive bridge scheduled for February Westbound traffic will take the northbound frontage road to the U-turn at SH 121 Eastbound traffic will take the southbound frontage road to FM 3040/Round Grove Road Full, weekend closure of the FM 1171/Main Street bridge scheduled for Feb. 11-13 Westbound traffic will take the northbound frontage road to Valley Ridge Boulevard Eastbound traffic will take the southbound frontage road to Fox Avenue 22
SAM RAYBURN TOLLWAY The northbound exit ramp to FM 3040 will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Jan. 22 for beam setting Full, overnight closures of the southbound frontage road between Vista Ridge Drive and the Sam Rayburn Tollway through Feb. 22 Detour: Vista Ridge Mall Drive to Lake Vista to southbound frontage road Full Overnight Closures of the southbound entrance ramp from FM 3040 through Feb. 22 Detour: SH 121 entrance ramp Full, weekend closure of eastbound SRT between north- and southbound I-35E scheduled for February 23
SOUTHBOUND COLLECTOR/DISTRIBUTOR SYSTEM The southbound collector/distributor system between the Sam Rayburn Tollway and the President George Bush Turnpike is scheduled to open in February The system consists of barrier separated lanes that run between the mainlanes and frontage roads. These ensure traffic between the toll roads does not enter the I-35E mainlanes Southbound I-35E drivers wishing to access the President George Bush Turnpike will enter the collector/distributor system at the Sam Rayburn Tollway The southbound entrance ramp from SH 121 will divert traffic into the collector/distributor system Drivers in the collector/distributor will be able to exit onto southbound I-35E The northbound collector/distributor is scheduled to go into operation spring 2017 24
SAFETY INITIATIVES AGL and TxDOT hold monthly meetings with law enforcement and first responders to identify ways to improve safety along the corridor The speed limit between US Highway 380 and Swisher Road has been reduced to 55 mph during construction Speed boards, that show drivers how fast they are travelling, are placed at key points along the corridor AGL trucks have bumper stickers reminding drivers to drive the speed limit #Safederive35 social media campaign designed to increase driver awareness 25
