Construction Projects: 1. LOCATION: I-95 from the Golden Glades Interchange in Miami-Dade County to Broward Boulevard in Broward County Up to two westbound or eastbound lanes will be closed on Hollywood Boulevard at I-95 overnight Monday night through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night. Up to three northbound lanes will be closed on I-95 between the Golden Glades Interchange in Miami-Dade County and Hallandale Beach Boulevard in Broward County, overnight Monday through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. One lane will close at 9 p.m. and up to two additional lanes will close at 11 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. At least two lanes will remain open at all times. Entrance and exit ramps will be closed as needed in the work zone. Detours will be clearly marked and electronic signs will advise drivers in advance. Up to two southbound lanes will be closed on I-95 from north of Griffin Road to south of Hallandale Beach Boulevard overnight Monday through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. One lane will close at 9 p.m. and one additional lane will closed at 11 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Entrance and exit ramps will be closed as needed in the work zone. Detours will be clearly marked and electronic signs will advise drivers in advance. One lane will be closed on the northbound exit ramp from I-95 to Stirling Road from 11 p.m. Friday night, Nov. 30, through 5 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3. Up to two eastbound lanes on Stirling Road will be closed at I-95 from 11 p.m. Friday night, Nov. 30, through 5 a.m. Monday morning, Dec. 3.
Description: This project will extend the High Occupancy Toll Express lanes from northern Miami-Dade County north 13 miles to Fort Lauderdale. The project includes installing Intelligent Transportation System components; modifying the Ives Dairy Road interchange; bridge widening at specific locations and installing new noise barrier walls at locations between Hollywood Boulevard and Taft Street. Cost/Completion: The construction cost is $106 million. Completion is expected late 2014. 2. Eller Drive east of the I-595/US 1 interchange at Port Everglades Intermittent lanes may be closed in either direction within the project limits Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. One westbound lane will be closed on Eller Drive at 7 th Avenue Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. All eastbound lanes of I-595 at the US 1/Eller Dr. interchange have been shifted onto a new alignment. This traffic pattern will be in effect until spring 2013. The speed limit through this new traffic pattern has been lowered to 25 MPH. All northbound lanes on US 1 turning east to Port Everglades are detoured north on US 1 to SE 30 TH Street to SE 6 th Avenue to the Eller Drive Extension until summer 2013. All eastbound lanes from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport heading east to Port Everglades are detoured north on US 1 to SE 30 th Street to SE 6 th Avenue to the Eller Drive Extension until summer 2013. Description: A new overpass is being built over Eller Drive and the Port Everglades Railroad. The project includes reconstruction of several ramps in the I-595/US 1/Eller Drive interchange, reconstruction of the Eller Drive intersections at NE 7 th Avenue, NE 14 th Avenue and McIntosh Road, installation of new railroad tracks and crossing signals, drainage retention ponds, moving utilities out of the construction path, concrete pavement roadway construction, highway lighting system, landscaping and irrigation. Cost/Completion: $42.5 million. Completion is expected May 2014. 3. State Road 820 (Hollywood Boulevard) from State Road 7/US 441 to 44 th Avenue in Hollywood One lane in each direction on Hollywood Boulevard will be closed periodically between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Description: Major drainage and roadway improvements being made include: Removing the old asphalt and repaving Hollywood Boulevard throughout the project limits, installation of a new drainage system, shoulder widening for bike lanes in each direction, adding a raised median with curb, new decorative highway lighting system, sidewalk improvements and adding ADA ramps at intersections and driveways, adding pedestrian countdown times at crosswalks, adding new video detection at traffic signals, planting landscaping in the new median and along both sides of the road. Cost/Completion: $5.8 million construction contract. Completion is November 2013. 4. State Road 7/US 441 from Sample Road to Holmberg Road
Two lanes in either direction will be closed on SR 7/US 441 overnight Monday night through Thursday night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. One lane will be closed periodically in either direction Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily. Description: Improvements included in this project are removing old asphalt and repaving the highway, drainage modifications, installing guardrail, upgrading traffic signals, installing new road signs and landscaping. Cost/Completion: $3.3 million. Completion is expected late November 2012. 5. US 1 from SE 17 th Street to Broward Boulevard & Henry E. Kinney Tunnel in Fort Lauderdale All northbound and southbound lanes of US 1 through the Henry E. Kinney Tunnel will be closed overnight Sunday night through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Traffic will be detoured via SE 7 Street and Broward Boulevard west to 3 rd Avenue. Description: Improvements included in this project consist of rehabilitating a portion of the Henry Kinney Tunnel on US 1, the bridge south of that, milling and resurfacing along US1 South of Broward Blvd to 17 th Street, also curb and landscaping. Cost/Completion: $2.6 million. Completion expected in November 2012. 6. A1A from Oakland Park Boulevard to Flamingo Drive in Fort Lauderdale One lane will be closed in each direction on A1A overnight Monday through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night. One lane will be closed periodically in each direction at various locations on A1A within the project limits Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Northbound and southbound sidewalks along A1A through the project limits will be closed periodically through December. Description: Improvements include removing old asphalt, repaving A1A, adding new bike lanes in each direction, adding curb and gutter, installing ADA ramps at intersections, extending left turn lanes, adding video detection system, installing mast arms and minor landscaping. Cost/Completion: $2.1 million. Completion expected in December 2012. 7. SW 10th Street from Powerline Road to East Newport Center Drive in Deerfield Beach One lane will be closed in each direction on SW 10 th Street periodically Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Description: Project improvements include repaving SW10th Street, modifying shoulder width, install video detection system, install guardrail on bridge, evaluate drainage conditions, evaluate non-functional driveways, new signs, new pavement markings, installing ADA ramps and minor landscaping. Cost/Completion: $2 million. Completion is expected February 2013.
8. State Road 84 (Marina Mile Boulevard) from Red Road to SW 26th Terrace in Fort Lauderdale/Davie/Dania Beach/Davie area One lane will be closed in each direction Monday through Saturday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Description: Project improvements includes repaving roadway, new curb and gutter, new video detection system, pedestrian signals, minor landscaping and adding ADA ramps at intersections. Cost/Completion: $1.7 million. Completion is expected in November 2012. 9. Stirling Road and Davie Road intersection in Davie One lane in each direction will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Description: Project improvements include repaving Stirling Road, improve curbs and sidewalks, installing ADA ramps, extending left turn lanes, adding video detection and installing mast arms at intersection. Cost/Completion: $425,432. Completion is expected late 2012. 10. Broward County Advanced Transportation Management System (ATMS) Project in Fort Lauderdale/Oakland Park/Wilton Manors/Lauderhill/Lauderdale Lakes/Sunrise/Plantation All lanes are open through Friday, Nov. 30. Description: Project improvements include installation of fiber optic communications infrastructure, closed circuit TV cameras, Arterial Dynamic Message Signs, emergency preemption system devices, microwave vehicle detection system and travel time system. Cost/Completion: $8.9 million. Completion is expected in fall 2013. 11. Stirling Road from NW 68th Avenue to NW 67th Avenue in Davie/Hollywood All lanes are open. This project is complete. Description: Project improvements include closing the median opening at 58th Avenue, repaving Stirling Road, installing ADA ramps, adding pedestrian countdown timers, replacing mast arms and minor landscaping. Cost/Completion: $357, 637. Completion is expected in fall 2012. 12. US 27 from Pines Boulevard to Griffin Road in Pembroke Pines/Southwest Ranches/Weston One lane will be closed in each direction Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. No lane closures will occur within school zone hours. The variable speed limit signs will be used to display 45 MPH speed limit in the project work zone for the duration of the project. Description: Project improvements include repaving roadway, installing new traffic signal at intersections, widening southbound and northbound left turn lanes on US27 at Johnson Street, Sheridan Street and Griffin Road, removing left turn lane from US27 onto westbound Pines Boulevard and widening the southbound left turn lane from US27 onto eastbound Pines

Cost/Completion: $713, 861. Completion is expected in November. 14. Griffin Road from I-75 to Weston Road in Southwest Ranches/Weston/Davie All lanes are open through Friday, Nov. 30. Description: Project improvements include re-aligning the southbound entrance ramp, installing a new traffic signal on Griffin Road at the I-75 interchange, repaving all ramps and Griffin Road in the interchange, installing new highway lighting, installing new highways signs, installing new drainage and planting new landscaping. Cost/Completion: $2.1 million. Completion is expected in September 2013. 15. State Road 845 (Powerline Road) between NW 13 th Street and NW 19 th Street in Fort Lauderdale One lane on Powerline will be closed in each direction Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily. Description: Project improvements include replacing the traffic signals and installing northbound and southbound left-turn signals at the Powerline Road intersections at NW 13 th Street and NW 19 th Street, installing overhead flashing school zone signs on Powerline Road and installing ADA sidewalk ramps at the intersections. Cost/Completion: $793,793. Completion is expected in November. 16. State Road 838 (Sunrise Boulevard at NW 31 st Avenue and NW 27 th Avenue in Lauderhill & Unincorporated Broward County One lane will be closed in all directions at the Sunrise Boulevard - NW 31 st Avenue intersection Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Description: Project improvements include repaving the intersections, installing dual-left turn lanes on NW 31 st Avenue, installing new traffic signal mast arms on SW 31 st Avenue, rebuilding and installing additional signals, installing new lighting, installing new overhead signs at NW 31 st Avenue, installing pedestrian countdown timers and upgrading sidewalk ramps. Cost/Completion: $961,151. Completion is expected in May 2013. 17. I-95, I-595 and I-75 Overhead Dynamic Message Signs at various locations
Four southbound lanes on I-95 will be closed north of Sheridan Street overnight Monday, Nov. 26, and Tuesday, Nov. 27, between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night. Four northbound lanes on I-95 will be closed south of Hallandale Beach Boulevard overnight Tuesday, Nov. 27, and Wednesday, Nov. 28, between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night. Description: This project is to replace 18 overhead dynamic message signs on I-95 (16), I-75 (1) and I-595 (1) at very locations in Broward County. Cost/Completion: $3 million. Completion is expected in December. 18. Powerline Road at SW15 th Avenue in Pompano Beach All lanes are open through Monday, Nov. 26. Description: Mast arm traffic signals are being installed over the southbound lanes of Powerline Road. Cost/Completion: $20,000. Completion is expected in November. Maintenance & Permit Projects: 19. US 1 near Port Everglades & Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport All northbound and southbound lanes on US 1 are shifted to the east between Griffin Road and the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport interchange for construction of the new runway through summer 2013. One northbound and one southbound lane on US 1 are closed at the I-595 interchange for construction at the airport through summer 2013. I-595 just east of I-95 in Fort Lauderdale The inside lane of I-595 will be closed in both directions for approximately 1,000 feet on Saturdays and Sundays between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. each day through early 2013. In this area FDOT has created a temporary U-turn through the grassy median of I-595 to accommodate heavy weekend traffic movement between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Port Everglades. Currently FDOT s Eller Drive Overpass construction and the airport s runway expansion project are detouring traffic exiting the airport. The U-turn will allow buses and taxis leaving the airport to travel west on I-595 approximately ½ mile to the new U-turn then travel back east on I-595 and directly into Port Everglades. www.dot.state.fl.us Consistent, Predictable, Repeatable
