AN AGGIE NEWS PUBLICATION 2017 2017 CLUB OFFICERS Dale Gibson 83 President Larry Collis 83 Past President Larry Patterson 72 Records Ben Denison 88 Scholarships Drew Larson 01 Activities Philip Sterling 01 DCAMC OFFICERS MESSAGE Webmaster Brian Moshier 03 Finance Howdy to the Denton County Aggies! As the old saying goes, from the inside looking out, it is hard to explain and from the outside looking in, it is hard to understand! As Aggies, we have a bond of shared experiences that transcends time and generations. Elliott Beard 05 The Denton County A&M Club is the local arm of the Association of Former Students and each local club is tasked accordingly: Provide scholarship funds for deserving local students who are attending Texas A&M. Provide each former student with the opportunity to become a member of a worthwhile group, to add something to the group, and to receive something of value from the relationship. Transmit current information to the community about the academic programs, scholarship opportunities, and advantages available at The Association and Texas A&M University. Provide a forum in which former students can become active members of the Aggie Network by assisting each other professionally, participating in community affairs, and becoming informed spokespersons on behalf of The Association and Texas A&M University. Kevin Dunahoo 07 continued on next page Muster Young Alumni / Big Event Liz Carr 85 Membership OPEN Golf OPEN Publicity

(officers message continued) Encourage individual leadership development and experience in organization management - particularly for young former students and recent graduates who may not yet have such opportunities in their professional pursuits. Coordinate all organized former student activity in that geographical area. Provide a forum for The Association and Texas A&M University to work together to accomplish objectives vital to its future. Encourage individual participation in The Association s Annual Fund, thereby enhancing The Association s ability to assist Current and Former Students alike. Every local club does this with volunteer leadership and without any monetary/budget support from the Association of Former Students, therefore, your local club is entirely dependent on local support. The Denton County A&M Club would like to thank Jack ( 76) & Beth Ramsey of Texas Choice Products (www.texas-choice.com) for their overwhelming and continued support in our scholarship fund raising efforts. At check-out, use our code GIGEM. The Club would also like to recognize all of the volunteers, players, and following sponsors of our golf tournament last October at Tour 18 for their generous support: $1,500 12th Man Sponsor - ABC Home & Commercial $1,500 12th Man Sponsor - KHA Accountants & Advisors $ 750 Gig 'em Sponsor - Cobb Fendley Engineering $ 500 Howdy Plus Sponsor - David Loupot '60 $ 340 Howdy Sponsor - Grunden Financial $ 300 Howdy Sponsor - Environmental Improvements, Inc $ 300 Howdy Sponsor - Rev's Mobile Auto Care/Restoration - Kevin Bryan '08 $ 200 Maroon Sponsor - Stacie Test, DDS $ 200 Maroon Sponsor - Debra Duffy, DDS $ 200 Maroon Sponsor - Cristina's Mexican Restaurant/Flower Mound $ 200 Maroon Sponsor - Larry Patterson '72 $ 200 Maroon Sponsor - Cartwright's Ranch House/Denton $ 200 Maroon Sponsor - Orthopedic Associates Many thanks also go to those Aggies that continue to support the Denton County A&M Club with their active membership year in, and year out. All of these efforts combined are what allow us to award multiple $1,000 scholarships to incoming freshman each year in addition to our two endowed scholarships that were funded in 2015!! There is always room for improvement. We are always on the lookout for new ideas and people willing to help by volunteering their time. Join us by becoming an active member of the Denton County A&M Club. Let us know how the Club can do better at connecting locally and what you would like to see from us. 2017 AGGIE MUSTER "Softly call the Muster, let comrade answer 'Here'..." The Denton County A&M Club is honored to host the most hallowed of Aggie traditions: Muster. Come join us as we honor those Aggies who have passed in the past year. The 2016 Muster was a resounding success! We were privileged to have Dave South, the Voice of the Aggies, give us a captivating and inspirational speech. Dave is a special person and a pillar of Aggieland, and we were lucky to have him. I do believe a good time was had by all! Thanks to all the officers who worked diligently to provide an excellent program. We hope it served its purpose to rekindle old friendships, enabled some 'Good Bull' stories to be told, and provide a special time for reflection during Roll Call. We have a new venue this year! A Denton County local business success story, Witherspoon Distillery expanded and has a beautiful venue where we will host Muster this year. Located next to last year s venue in Old Town Lewisville, we think you ll enjoy this new venue even more than last year s! Our speaker this year is Vince Palasota 89 (see bio next).
