Along with classroom volunteers, Kindergarten learned how to check out books and return them to the library. They loved going behind the scenes and seeing real books come through on the conveyors. They successfully checked out books with the help of our volunteers. The very animated Sue Schnitzer, manager of GSPL, entertained the 2 classes with fun books and music she played on her ukulele. CHANGING OF SEASONS As some of you have noticed, we have begun to move into the colder fall mornings, so we strongly encourage you to have your child come to school with a jacket or coat. We go outside first thing in the morning before school begins, most classes enjoy a mid-morning and mid-afternoon recess, and we will always go outside for lunch and lunch recess (unless it is raining). Not to mention all classes will go outside for P.E., as weather permits and until the church basement is complete. Please help your child, and their comfort, by helping them prepare for the cold mornings and days to come.

Night of the Living Rosary Each year the month of October is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary. This is primarily due to the fact that the liturgical feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated annually on October 7th. It was instituted to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary in gratitude for the protection that she gives the Church in answer to the praying of the Rosary by the faithful. Wednesday, October 5th, we ask you to join us for an evening of light and prayer as a means of drawing us closer to Jesus and Mary. As a symbol of worldwide unity, St. Stephen Church and School students will lead a living multi-cultural rosary. The great mysteries of our salvation will be meditated on through song. Children will act as beads and prayers will be tracked through the lighting of candles along the perimeter of the church. If your family, or just your child, would like to volunteer to participate in being a part of this evening, please e-mail Mrs. Hillbrand at kellyhillbrand@scsglenwood.org, or sign up in the school office.
