Club News Friday, March 13th General Meeting, Guest Speaker @ 7pm Location: Ave., San Martin John Heenan, Sr Ranger at Mount Madonna, will be our guest speaker. He will be covering several topics including the new Nielsen property, work day for signs on that property, master plan for Mt. Madonna and an update on the horse camp at the park. I m sure he will be happy to field any questions you may have so don t miss this awesome opportunity! Let s make sure our horse voices are heard. **Remember: Attend the general meeting and earn a raffle ticket toward the End of the Year Drawing! This meeting will be potluck (leftovers for our ride on the 14 th!) Board Meeting February 18, 2015 Present: Denise Roberts, Pat Scharfe, Joan Throgmorton, Kitty Swindle, and Bev VanderWeide Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. Treasurer s Report: Denise distributed the budget through January 2015. Taxes for 2014 have been filed. Denise will be attending the Jack Brook sign up on Thursday to secure our spot at the camp for 2016. General Meetings: The general meeting went very well. Debbie and Marcia helped Joan to run the bingo game. Kitty made the suggestion that members wear name tags during general meetings. 4H members talked about going to the California State Classic and requested financial support for its members from both the Club and individual members. Bev said she would present their need to the Board members. At the next general meeting (March 13) Senior Ranger John Heenan for Mt. Madonna will speak regarding the Neilsen property, the Mt Madonna master plan and updating us on the proposed horse camp. This meeting will be potluck. Club Roster: Bev would like to a have a listing of Club members containing names, addresses, and telephone numbers for distribution to all members. This would allow members to connect with each other for group rides and/or riding partners. Individuals will need to be contacted to insure they are okay with their information being included in the book. This is a huge undertaking. Bev will check with Sir Speedy to ascertain the cost of such an endeavor. New Member Packet: Kitty would like to have a package distributed to new members which would include the SMHA brochure, maps of County parks, event schedule, trail courtesies and a Club roster when available. 4H: After a short discussion it was agreed that we would donate $200 to the 4H to attend the California State Classic.. Newsletter: Laura is currently not available to continue editing The Eventer. She hopes to be able to return later in the year. Bev agreed to put together the March issue of The Eventer Pleasure Ride: Our next pleasure ride will be March 14 out of Hunting Hollow. This is our annual St Patty s Leftover Ride. Ride out will be promptly at 10 am. Ride will be led by Kitty and Pat. This is a members-only ride. Release of Liability from all will be required. Other: Raincoats and Rubber Boots: March 7 @ Hunting Hollow Lake San Antonio: Options for camping are June and September.
