Saturday the 7th of August would have been a great day for sleeping. However Bob McClary thought that the editor of the news letter should attend the benefit car show for Grace Clinic, The show was dubbed the Wheeling and Healing car show and was held in the parking lot of the First Baptist Church on 395. Jack showed up with his Boat tail, the Shreves were there GAS GAUGE Page 10 SEPTEMBER BIRTHDAYS 1st Jack Yale 1st Jan Mokler 2nd Mike Underwood 5th Julie Mathews 6th Jennifer browning 9th Michael Boob 9th Jim Gilbert 13th Ginger Vetrano 17th Marti Meyers 21st Jim Geiger 21st Penny Newgard 27th Sherri Gordon SEPTEMBER ANNIVERSARIES 5th Charles & Mercedes Lantz 6th Vern & Martha Shreve 11th Russ & Jane Armstrong 17th Bob & Alice Rupp 20th Denny & Linda Kehl 22nd Jack & Peggy Yale 27th Rich & Charlette Gilbert with the blue Hup and the burgundy Packard, Bob s Olds made it all the way to the church, and of course I (Continued on page 2)

Page 9 GAS GAUGE GAS GAUGE Page 2 Ed Edwards has missed several breakfasts. He tells us he had to go to the doctor s office. To that I say HA! We know now the he was having fun. Pitching horse shoes of all things.. Well at least he seems to take it serious. He told me that he took 9 second place awards. I was about to congratulate him when I realized there is no second place, You either win or you lose. He thought that was real funny. (Continued from page 1) was there with the Dodge, Joe Kuhns wore his Metro to the occasion. Some bad news though, the rumors of Martha having a drinking problem are confirmed. Yep, she spilled her drink, not only once, but twice. It was so pathetic that a total stranger bought her another drink. But you know what, I think it is Vern that has the drinking This All Senior Picnic is coming up soon. It is going to be a lot of fun. They need 8 to 10 cars inside and even more outside Try to attend. It is another good time to share some fun with your friends in the club, and to show off your cars. problem. We finally convinced Martha that it was time to take him home, but he insisted on staying and modeling silly hats. This model T gets my vote for best vehicle at the show

Page 3 GAS GAUGE GAS GAUGE Page 8 Benton/Franklin Parade and picnic Well another success full Award winning parade. Our club won the Presidents award for the third time in a row. I don t know how many people or cars showed up because I didn t go,. I will have to rely on one of my roving reporters to fill me in and to supply me with pictures. Now on to other late breaking news. It seem that there was a gathering of old cars and equally old people in the vicinity of 3600 block of Garfield St. After further investigation it was determined that these old folks were quite harmless and they were having a picnic. The food looked very good so I joined them. It was a tough job, but someone has to do it. While talking to some of these people I discovered that this was a gathering of folks from an antique car club and that they have been doing this for 20 + years. One older gentleman by the name of Jack Yale and his wife That s Jack and Peggy to the far left As you can see from the number of cars in the drive way that a lot of people were enjoying the food as much as I am. Boy! A free meal sure brings out a lot of people. They Peggy have been hosting this get together for 20 years and this was his last time. He was presented with a certificate of appreciation and some discussion was had about something else the club could do for them. Things to do in Sept & October Sept 6th Prosser States Day Parade. Sept 18th Tampico Days Parade. Call Dale Henson@ 509-965-9509 for details. Sept 28 All Senior Picnic at the Trac. They need 8 to 10 cars in side and even more outside. We need to take more one day trips this summer. If you think of a trip that we might like, Mention it to Dennis, Martha, or Jack. The screen side is done so you won t hear any more about it from me.

Page 7 GAS GAUGE GAS GAUGE Page 4 Did you notice the cute little trailer that this car is towing, it looks just like a Mini Morris.. (Continued from page 3) served a drink that could be deemed illegal be cause it taste so good. It took quite a bit of sleuthing but I uncovered the brew master of this great tasting Root Beer. It was none other than the infamous Gail Noga. Wait a minute.. this just in Roving reporter Fred Fraser is on the scene and is sending some pictures Vern s Dodge on the right. Bob Ilten s Old Blue below John s Screen side made it to another function Audrey s Packard still looks good. Of course we can t forget Mr. Cadillac, Bob Rupp. I m not sure who that is above, could it be Dan & Dani Flannagan??? Martha and her Hup Jack s 31 Chrysler is a welcome sight. There is more, Turn to page 7

Page 5 GAS GAUGE GAS GAUGE Page 6 Several of our people went to Fort Walla Walla for an Ice cream social on the 22nd of Aug.Don t know for sure who, but from the picture I can see that Fred Fraser, Bob McClary, Pete Jackson, and Eldon Reiman were there. If I missed anybody, Sorry This is actually a letter thanking the Club for our participation in this event. This looks like a shot of the Parlor. This could be a bed room. Above is probably the shop. Above some of the actors at work. To the right, some of the wall Decorations. Remember Tom Mix?
