Pitching horse shoes of all things.. Well at least he seems to take it serious. He told me that he took 9 second place awards. I was about to congratulate him when I realized there is no second place, You either win or you lose. He thought that was real funny. (Continued from page 1) was there with the Dodge, Joe Kuhns wore his Metro to the occasion. Some bad news though, the rumors of Martha having a drinking problem are confirmed. Yep, she spilled her drink, not only once, but twice. It was so pathetic that a total stranger bought her another drink. But you know what, I think it is Vern that has the drinking This All Senior Picnic is coming up soon. It is going to be a lot of fun. They need 8 to 10 cars inside and even more outside Try to attend. It is another good time to share some fun with your friends in the club, and to show off your cars. problem. We finally convinced Martha that it was time to take him home, but he insisted on staying and modeling silly hats. This model T gets my vote for best vehicle at the show
Page 3 GAS GAUGE GAS GAUGE Page 8 Benton/Franklin Parade and picnic Well another success full Award winning parade. Our club won the Presidents award for the third time in a row. I don t know how many people or cars showed up because I didn t go,. I will have to rely on one of my roving reporters to fill me in and to supply me with pictures. Now on to other late breaking news. It seem that there was a gathering of old cars and equally old people in the vicinity of 3600 block of Garfield St. After further investigation it was determined that these old folks were quite harmless and they were having a picnic. The food looked very good so I joined them. It was a tough job, but someone has to do it. While talking to some of these people I discovered that this was a gathering of folks from an antique car club and that they have been doing this for 20 + years. One older gentleman by the name of Jack Yale and his wife That s Jack and Peggy to the far left As you can see from the number of cars in the drive way that a lot of people were enjoying the food as much as I am. Boy! A free meal sure brings out a lot of people. They Peggy have been hosting this get together for 20 years and this was his last time. He was presented with a certificate of appreciation and some discussion was had about something else the club could do for them. Things to do in Sept & October Sept 6th Prosser States Day Parade. Sept 18th Tampico Days Parade. Call Dale Henson@ 509-965-9509 for details. Sept 28 All Senior Picnic at the Trac. They need 8 to 10 cars in side and even more outside. We need to take more one day trips this summer. If you think of a trip that we might like, Mention it to Dennis, Martha, or Jack. The screen side is done so you won t hear any more about it from me.
