Lochmere Populace Meeting Notes Baron: and Baroness: Seneschal: Will be attending Bright Hills Birthday, Love and Beauty, and Ymir for which a day shade will be available Dedee will be handling hospitality There is a new equestrian waiver form available Chronicler: (convalescing) Got newsletter out on time Lady Katla wanted to thank Lady Scholastica for taking notes at the meeting Exchequer: (emailed report) Ledger Balance is $9,038.89 of which $976.46 belongs to the Cavalry Funds. Baronial Balance is $8,062.43. I have not been able to close the books on Mid-Winter s Feast because I do not have the feast receipts. I expect to have them at our Meeting on Feb 5th. However, assuming all the feast funds were spent, we lost money on the event. It was not too terrible at $198.62. The reason we lost money is because there were 3 errors on the event budget no one caught. The first was the gate comps were not set to subtract, so it added income to the budget. The other mistakes were the food expenses were not listed under the expense column on the budget so no money for food was subtracted out of the budget and the third mistake was the occupancy charges were only listed as $800.00 when in fact we paid $950.00 ($800 for the site and $150 cleaning fee) plus a $250.00 refundable deposit. The $250.00 is not counted in the budget or the report because it will cancel itself out once we receive it back from the church. It is unfortunate the mistakes were missed. I have certainly learned how to better review the event budget going forward. The Doomsday report was completed and sent to the Kingdom Exchequer on 1/10/2018. The Kingdom Exchequer told me she would let me know if I needed to make corrections and I have not heard back from her. The Barony s Annual Financial Report was submitted to chronicler for publication in the Dredgings, if any questions please let me know via email, exchequer@lochmere.atlantia.sca.org or address in person. Great news! Rachael Weaver (Aine D Alton) has volunteered to be my deputy exchequer. The 2018 Annual Budget and our new Financial Policy are ready to be voted on. I distributed copies of both at our Dec populace meeting and at the informal meeting at fighter practice after our Jan meeting was cancelled. The Exchequer s office has been updating forms and policy. Going forward if you need a form like the event The Dredgings 4 March 2018
Lochmere Populace Meeting Notes Continued budget form make sure you go online and pull it from the Exchequer s page or ask me and I will be happy to send it to you. Please don t use one you have saved from last year. Minister of Arts and Sciences: Chatelain: Herold: (emailed report) Mid-Winter was a great event with 6 or 7 new people in attendance Will be starting the monthly Tuesday night meetings soon, look for Facebook and email messages We have one new contact since the last meeting, he lives in Storvik but wants to play with us Newcomer events to come back on Sundays My apologies for not submitting a herald's report for January as I was sick and forgetful and a terrible person I was out of town and unable to attend the Bardic Party in December, which I hope went well At the end of December we received a request for permission to conflict with our Sable Branch badge that I worked on after the New Year and our canceled icy meeting For January, After consulting the populace via email and on Facebook, the Permission to Conflict letter was signed by Baron Cormac and Baroness Sarra at the Midwinter's Feast event and forwarded to Society Heraldic staff for their use. I don't recall seeing a deadline in the request, but when asked in passing at University it seems the device was returned as permissions to conflict weren't received in time for the publishing of the decision. I don't know if that was our slowed permission letter, or someone else's, but they have ours on file now if the gentle wishes to appeal. The court reports for the two courts held at Midwinter's Feast have been filed and are visible in the Atlantian Order of Precedence from this link: http://op.atlantia.sca.org/op_event.php?event_id=1828 I will endeavor to write up a narrative for those who missed court due to not being able to attend or working in the kitchen. Vivats to Lady Emma Dandelion as the newest member of the Order of the Sable Branch, to Baroness Greer Jonsdottir as the newest Arts and Sciences Champion of the barony and the newest member of the Order of the Eagle's Feather, to Lady Katla Flokadottir as the newest member of the Order of the Blasted Oak, and to Lord Fulk the Bald who received the Award of Excellence of Lochmere al- The Dredgings 5 March 2018

Arianna volunteered to be Autocrat for next years Mid-Winter event Is well underway Flyers are done, FB event posted and staffed Liquor license needs to be signed tonight Fabric was brought to make bags for the bag game Give finished bags to Master Renard The Dredgings 7 March 2018
Lochmere Populace Meeting Notes Continued On Target: Old Business: New Business: Any questions should be directed to Avice Request for dayshade Arianna is doing Lochmart, she wants them pre-priced We are six weeks out and Avice is feeling good about the upcoming event Budget should be finished by the end of the week We already have volunteers to MOL Considering having a Bardic Quest for those not shooting Those that attended Winter Bardic had fun, but not well attended It was suggested that we start planning now by doing a poll about a date This event will need an autocrat Avice agreed to do a poll for the date We now own four walkie-talkies We will need 6-8 people to help paint new pavilion. Paint to be purchased from Panther. Would like to have pictures posted of proposed design. Looking for dates on Sunday for those who can help. We want to try and get it done to be used for Night on the Town/Rhine. Connie can no longer store Feast supplies and there are 16 bins, which must be moved by NOTT. One large cooking pot was thrown away at last event and removed from inventory. It is proposed that we have someone report what it will cost to replace that stockpot at the next meeting. Barony of Storvik is hosting a Spring Fair and would like each barony to sponsor one activity. The Baron would like us to help Baron would like us to put on a Kingdom event. It was suggested we look at Fall Crown and possibly do it at Denton location possibly with Spaggia Meeting ended at 8:30. Our next meeting will be March 5th at 7:15. The Dredgings 8 March 2018
B&B Corner Greetings Lochmeri! We hope you all are enjoying the little bits of summer we have been experiencing, we sure are. However, while it was still cold we traveled up north earlier this month to celebrate Bright Hills Baronial Birthday. It was a great event to visit with Our cousins and enjoy the close friendships we enjoy with our closest neighbors. We next traveled south to the Tournament of Love and Beauty, but before the snow came we were able to watch the beautiful procession of fighters and their consorts. Thank you to Dame Dealla who organized hospitality and to everyone who helped provide all the yummy treats to anyone who visited. We are on our way to Ymir, as I am writing this. We are looking forward to some sunshine, warm weather and fighting. In the beginning of March we will attend Kingdom A&S and we are looking forward to seeing the wonderful creations Lochmeri always enter. Then, Night on the Rhine! There are lots of wonderful things planned and we hope to see you all out there. Finally, Lochmere's 30th birthday is rapidly approaching. And We want recommendations from the populace to make sure we celebrate it in style. Please contact us and give us your ideas so we can make it special. Thank you! Yours in Service, Cormacc and Sarra Baron & Baroness The Dredgings 9 March 2018
