PALM BEACH COUNTY TRAFFIC DIVISION UPDATE OF ROAD AND BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION LIST DATE OF ISSUE: FEBRUARY 13, 2013 STATUS FOR FEBRUARY 18, 2013 THROUGH FEBRUARY 24, 2013 *** CONSTRUCTION WORK ZONES ADDED OR CHANGED *** *** SINCE LAST REPORT *** 1. LOCATION: Sims Road at West Atlantic Ave. (west of the City of Delray Beach) Underground utility work. Sims Road will be closed from 9:00 AM on February 18, 2013, through 6:00 AM on February 25, 2013. Traffic will be detoured via Jog Rd. and Lake Ida Rd. to the west and Military Trail to Lake Ida Rd. to the east. Follow the detour signs. 2. LOCATION: Ocean Way at U.S. #1 (Town of Jupiter) Installation of a new traffic signal. The traffic signal is on flash and will be fully activated on February 19, 2013. 3. LOCATION: Belvedere Rd. from Jog Rd. to Drexel Rd. (west of the Town of Haverhill) Installation of pavement markings and reflective pavement markers. There will be lane closures; however delays should be minimal. 1
4. LOCATION: Northlake Blvd. west of SR 710/Bee Line Hwy. (City of West Palm Beach) Construction of 2 bridges On February 19, 2013, the new westbound lanes will be open. The rest of the week there will be lane closures. The eastbound traffic will remain as is. The speed limit will remain at 45 MPH. *** UNCHANGED CONSTRUCTION WORK ZONES *** 5. LOCATION: Central Blvd. at C-18 Canal (Town of Jupiter) Bridge widening. 6. LOCATION: Seminole Pratt Whitney Rd. from south of Okeechobee Blvd. to Sycamore Dr. (West of the Town of Loxahatchee Groves) Construction of a 4 lane divided roadway from the existing 2 lanes. 2
7. LOCATION: Jog Road northbound approaching Okeechobee Blvd. (City of West Palm Beach) Extending the right turn lane for 500. Daytime lane closures will be from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. 8. LOCATION: CR 707 (Beach Rd.) over the Intracoastal Waterway (Village of Tequesta and The Town of Jupiter Inlet Colony) Span machinery repair. Repair work will begin on February 19, 2013, through April 19, 2013. Vehicle and pedestrian traffic will only be interrupted during the eight isolated night closings 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM. At this time the dates of the closings are not yet scheduled. The date of each night closing will be posted on the message boards one week in advance. 9. LOCATION: Congress Ave. at Hank Aaron Dr./Millbrae Ct. (City of West Palm Beach) Underground utility work. The left through lane and the left turn lane on northbound Congress Ave. is open. The right through lane will be closed. 3
10. LOCATION: Ocean Ave. Bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway (Town of Lantana) Bridge removal and construction of a new bridge. The Bridge closed on March 18, 2012, and will reopen late 2013. Traffic will be detoured via: A1A, Lake Ave./Lucerne Ave. and U.S. #1 11. LOCATION: Clint Moore Rd. from Military Trail to I-95 (City of Boca Raton) Installation of pavement markings and reflective pavement markers. There will be lane closures; however this will be a moving operation and delays should be minimal. 12. LOCATION: Atlantic Ave. W at Jog Rd. intersection (west of the City of Delray Beach) Intersection improvements. There will be daytime lane closures from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday through Friday. 13. LOCATION: Seminole Pratt Whitney Rd. from 60 th St. North to south of Orange Blvd. (The Acreage) Rebuilding the roadway from a 2 lane to a 4 lane divided roadway. Lane closures are not planned at this time. 4
14. LOCATION: Australian Ave. between 7 th St. and north of Banyan Blvd. (City of West Palm Beach) Permit for the City of West Palm Beach to install pumps, dredging and piping. The southbound right lane is closed. 15. LOCATION: West Atlantic Ave. from Lyons Rd. to Starkey Rd. (West of the City of Delray Beach) Road widening from 2 lanes to 4 lanes. 16. LOCATION: S.R. 7 at the C-51 Canal (Village of Royal Palm Beach) Bridge widening and roadwork. Daytime lane closures are not allowed; however night time lane closures may occur between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM. 17. LOCATION: 10 th Ave. North at the Keller Canal between Florida Mango Rd. and Boutwell Rd. (west of the City of Lake Worth) Installation of 2 pedestrian bridges and minor bridge widening.
