The Province of Cordoba has requested a one-year extension of theclosing date (original closing date October 31, 2012) to enable the timely completion of all project activities. This request forextension, which would be the first extension of the project, has been agreed with the federal Government. The new proposed closingdate would be October 31 2013. The Institutional Strengthening activities are significantly advanced with use of remaining fundsbeing prioritized for the purchase of needed road safety equipment (alcohol breath analyzers and IT equipment related to roadsafety enforcement as well as support to the procurement of Page 1 of 6
priority IT equipment for the governance agenda provincial programcalled SuperCentro that enables greater transparency, accountability and citizen participation and responsiveness). The civil workscontracts are very advanced with the completion of all major civil works (5 paving contracts and rehabilitation works under CREMA 3all complete). The only outstanding parts under the civil works are the remaining maintenance activities on CREMA 3.
