VISTA FRIENDS AND NEWCOMERS F E B R U A R Y 2 0 1 5 H A P P Y 2 5 T H PRESIDENT S LETTER Hello My Friends, Welcome to February 2015. Time is moving quickly as we are already in our second month of 2015. The month of February has many special days for celebration, among the special celebrations this month, is International Friendship Month. We should all think of what makes a good friend and what should we do to be a good friend. I m thankful for all my good friends who are with me in good times and bad times. I hope you all enjoyed our Holiday Christmas Party in December. I thank everyone who helped to make the party a success. Please pass on any comments either negative or positive about the party to help in the planning of the 2015 party. A committee should now be forming to pick the location for the 2015 party. It s very difficult to secure a location as the months go on. Let me know if you would like to volunteer for this task. Our nominating committee is working diligently to recommend new board members to lead our club for 2015-2017. Its fun to be involved. As we all know when we become a member of Vista Friends and Newcomers part of our commitment to the club is to bring a treat to the coffee the month following your birthday. If you are unable to attend the coffee please send a donation to carry though with your commitment. Mary Bellinger will now be the friendly voice calling you to remind you of your commitment. Ladies please mark your calendars to attend the monthly coffee. Janet Leary our 2 nd Vice President is doing a terrific job to bring us interesting programs at the monthly coffee. Our club has something for everyone to enjoy with the many activities that are offered. Please remember our members who are having a difficult time in their life or their spouse s life at this time. Sometimes even a phone call will make a difference. Let s all be supportive of one another. I hope each of us will be celebrating Valentine s Day in a special way. They invented hugs to let people know you love them without saying anything. Karen Taylor, President
