(d) County Council Member Report Councillor Jones attended the meeting and gave a comprehensive report of matters relating to the Parish and the County Council as follows - Children s Centres The County Council had agreed to close 29 children's centres as part of our plans to deal with the biggest budget cuts in our history. 1
Centres which will remain open are: Alfreton, Birdholme, Bolsover, Cotmanhay, Creswell, Eckington, Fairfield, Gamesley, Glossop, Hadfield, Heanor, Holme Hall, Ironville, Langley Mill, Long Eaton (urban), Matlock, North Wingfield, Old Whittington, Shirebrook, Staveley and Woodville. Centres to close are: Arkwright, Bakewell, Belper, Blackwell, Brampton, Brimington, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Chesterfield town centre (Queen's Park), Clay Cross, Clowne, Coton-in-the-Elms, Crich, Dronfield, Etwall, Harpur Hill, Hasland, Killamarsh, Long Eaton (rural), Newhall, New Mills, Ripley, Sandiacre, Somercotes, South Normanton, Stonebroom, Tupton, West Hallam, Whaley Thorns and Wirksworth. Dementia Friendly Matinee Screening There would be 4 special screenings of films for people living with dementia, their family and friends. The screenings would be taking place in Langley Mill and in Belper. Friday July 8 th St Andrew s Church Hall-1pm-3.45pm Seven Brides for Seven Brothers Friday December 9 th St Andrew s Church Hall -1pm-4.15pm It s a wonderful Life These screenings are designed to be comfortable, safe and welcoming to people living with dementia, and provide an opportunity for them to enjoy a good film, with social interaction, tea and cake, chat and reminiscence. The cost is 4 (including refreshments) Patrons with dementia may bring one carer, family member or friend for free Please book in advance Tel 07449 732322 Women Against State Pension Inequality Campaign The County Council called on the Government to make fair transitional arrangements for all women born on or after 6 April 1951 who have unfairly borne the burden of the increase to the State Pension Age (SPA). Hundreds of thousands of women had significant pension changes imposed on them by the Pension Acts of 1995 and 2001 but were not notified of the changes until relatively recently. The Council called upon the Government to reconsider transitional arrangements for women born between 1951 and 1955 so that women do not live in hardship due to pension changes they were not told about until it was too late to make alternative arrangements Come and talk to foster carers at County Hall in Matlock The County Council were looking for people who can offer loving homes to children who can't, for whatever reason, live with their families. 2

Florence Shipley Care Centre officially opens its doors A new multi-million pound specialist community care centre in Heanor has officially opened its doors. The 8m Florence Shipley Community Care Centre in Market Place, Heanor, was opened on 14 June by Deputy Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care Councillor Paul Jones. He was joined at the ceremony by guest of honour Margaret Marsh, a direct descendent of Florence Shipley, the former local councillor and alderman behind the building of the original. Derbyshire women are urged to get cervical screening aware Women in Derbyshire were being urged to attend cervical screening appointments when invited. (5) That approval be given to appointing the Clerk as a bank signatory for internet banking purposes only. 92/16 Allotments report The Chairman gave a brief report on the allotment sites. 93/16 Parish Council Items for Decision/Action (a) Roundabout Near Asda Cultivation Licence update The Clerk updated Members on discussions held with officers of the County Council on the cultivation licence to tidy up the roundabout near ASDA. RESOLVED that the Clerk continue to pursue the matter in more detail with the County Council and report back to a future meeting. (b) Cromford Road Car Park The Clerk informed Members that notices about parking restrictions were to be purchased for Cromford Road Car Park. (c) National Staff Pay Award 5
RESOLVED that National Staff Pay Award for 2016-2018 be approved and implemented. (d) Next Newsletter Council were updated on the contents of the August newsletter. (e) North Street Garden update The Clerk updated Members on the progress of the North Street Garden scheme. (f) Langley Mill Fire Fund Council were informed that all monies were now accounted for and arrangements would be pursued to release the funds to the appropriate trustees. 94/16 Date and Time of Next Meeting It was NOTED that the next meeting of the Parish Council would be held at Neal Court Community Room, Andrews Drive, Aldercar, Langley Mill on Thursday 28 July 2016. 6
