7 Enhanced Generation Incentives The Renewables Obligation (Scotland), known as ROS, is the Scottish Government's main means of increasing renewable electricity generation in Scotland. Current incentives to encourage development of wind energy are based on Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROCs): o Offshore wind farms 1.9 ROCs per MWh (2015/16) o Floating Offshore Wind 3.5 ROCs per MWh o ROC = circa 45 per MWh The Renewables Obligation is being phased out and will replaced by the Contracts for Difference (CfD) regime from April 2017: o Strike Price for offshore wind in 2014/15 = 155 per MWh o Strike Price for offshore wind in 2018/19 = 140 per MWh
