2 Welcome from the Branch Chair Branch Welcome to the 2015 Midland Branch and Districts Programme. There are nearly 50 free Branch and District meetings to attend, with speakers presenting on many interesting occupational safety and health topics. The branch and districts are managed by dedicated volunteers, who are always happy to help you with your queries, and support you with your Initial Professional Development, Continuing Professional Development and Skills Development Portfolio, as you progress through the IOSH membership grades and maintain your competency. Attendance at meetings gives you valuable opportunities to network and share experiences with other members. Meetings are also open to non-members, many of whom later join the growing ranks of our 44,000+ members in 120+ countries who are committed to the IOSH vision of creating a world of work that is safe, healthy and sustainable. Please keep an eye on the IOSH weekly e-newsletter, Connect, for any changes or additions to the programme, including any further chargeable events. If you do not receive Connect please register for it on the IOSH website. This year the latest news on meetings will also be sent direct to your inbox by your branch and district committees. We are always looking for new volunteers to help run the branch and districts. This year the branch executive committee will be looking for new and dedicated practitioners of all grades and experiences to support our endeavours. Come and see us between now and April to discuss how we could help each other. If you are visiting us for the first time, don t be shy to come and say hello to a committee member, who will be sure to make you feel at home.
