2 Congratulations Congratulations to Sandra P and Martin J on the birth of Ella May in early August. Bank Transfers If you are transferring money into the clubs bank account please include an invoice number or your name in the description. Descriptions like BSC fees make sorting out who has paid difficult for the treasurer. Maintenance There will be a lot of work happening in the lodge this summer. The plans are to replace or fix the rotted bearers at the front of the lodge, fix the leaky shower in Room 10 and replace a couple of windows that need to be fixed. If you see any maintenance items over summer that need attention please give Noel a call. 2 / 5

3 New Logo The club is running a competition for a new logo. Full details are on the web site follow the link in the menu to the left -and we hope that a many Junior and Full members as possible take the time to show us their artistic talents. Microfibre Cloths During the 2011 season the committee trialled the use of microfibre cloths in bathrooms with a view to reducing the amount of chemicals used in and around the lodge. When using these cloths, chemicals are rarely necessary as the cloths are designed to collect bacteria, dirt, grime etc. on their own. When they are laundered the collected matter is dispersed. Unfortunately, the cloths found their way into the kitchen, compromising the health of guests through cross contamination. The committee is prepared to continue the trial but we need your cooperation. Cloths are for bathroom use ONLY and should be put out with the bathmats for laundering at the end of your stay. A clean cloth should be collected from the laundry when you collect a replacement bathmat. In the interests of minimising the spread of germs the committee recommends that the kitchen continue to operate cloth free with the exception of the disposable Chux wipes and paper towel. 4 Subject to finding a suitable venue the AGM will be held on the 31 st March 2012 in Melbourne. Full details will follow. Lodge Fax number The committee has looked at merging the two phone lines into the club. This has resulted in the fax number being disconnected. Childcare at Falls Resort management have let us know that they intend for the occasional childcare at St Falls to run over summer. Full details of fees, required documents and booking procedures are on the Falls Creek website. Committee Elections Included in this newsletter is a call for nominations for the committee elections. 5 Fluro Tubes Over winter it was noticed that some of the tubes in the lights in the level 4 and 5 hallways had been removed. As lighting is a safety issue we would appreciate it if the lights could be left alone. If there is too much light reflecting into the room from under the doors a rolled up spare bath mat usually fixes the problem. Facebook Bec Smith has set up a site for club members in Facebook.
