3 Departure and Check In 1. Arrive at 8:30am to Effingham County High School Highway 119 in Springfield, Georgia. Use the Bus Entrance 2. Report to your assigned bus, drop off luggage underneath first then check in with Registration Adult located at the door of your bus Make sure to say your good-byes!! Once checked in, 4-H ers will need to get on and stay on the bus!! Bathrooms are on board. You will receive a 4-H Pick-Up Pass when you check your child in on the bus. 3. AFTER you have placed your child on the bus, turn in any medication at Med Check Station or make any emergency changes Not everyone will turn in medications All meds should be labeled and packed in a zip lock bag with your child s name 4. Make room for other parents and campers to check in once you have completed these steps

4 Friday Return & Pick-up Procedures We will return to ECHS on Friday around 1:00pm We will not be stopping for lunch on the way home. You may want to have a snack/lunch waiting upon their return Report to bus/adult that checked your child in. Make sure you have their 4-H Pick-Up Pass. We will only release campers to an adult who has the Pick-Up Pass in hand! Collect your child and take them home with you!! We love them, but not as much as you do Collect all luggage, medication and thoroughly check lost and found area for belongings before leaving.

5 Luggage Guidelines 1 Medium Suitcase and a carry-on OR 2 smaller duffle-like bags and a carry on Sleeping Bags must be in a bag and clearly labeled Flag luggage with ribbon or bright colored tape If you send a dirty clothes bag, be sure it is labeled

6 PACKING LIST Twin size sheets or a sleeping bag Towels (bath & pool) Pillow and case Wash cloths Deodorant Tooth brush & paste Shampoo Soap Jacket or sweatshirt Raincoat (optional) Insect spray Water proof sun screen lotion Camera (optional) Water bottle Bathing suit Two pair of walking shoes (one pair needs to be old) Two large plastic bags for dirty & wet clothes (a clothes line is available) One to two pair comfortable appropriate play clothes, underwear & socks per day (underwear should be worn but not visible) ALL CLOTHING & BELONGINGS NEED TO BE LABELED WITH YOUR CHILD S NAME

7 APPROPRIATE FOOTWEAR Closed Toed Shoes OR Sandals WITH Heal Straps CAMP POLICY Flip-flops will not be allowed for any purpose other than showers!!!

8 Cell Phones, Video games, IPod's, Go Pros, or other electronics are NOT permitted.

9 $$$ MONEY $$$ Snacks & Souvenirs are available at the Rock Eagle Store. Please have a discussion with your child about being responsible with their money. $ $5.00 per day for snacks $ $20.00 to purchase a souvenir if interested Daily money envelopes are recommended. You may also want to pack the money in different locations in the suitcase. All Effingham Campers will get a t-shirt to wear home Friday. Do NOT send excessive amounts of cash to camp with your child.

11 TALK WITH YOUR 4-H ER ABOUT THE FOLLOWING Bathing... i.e. swimming does not count as bathing. Changing his/her clothes daily... do not assume we have washed, dried, and folded your child s clothes prior to our returning home. If it is folded... it has not been worn! Behavior. It is imperative that all 4-H ers follow rules and guidelines for their well being and safety while at camp. Please be sure that you understand camp is a privilege and in the case of a behavior problem, we reserve the right to have you pick your child up from camp early.

13 Code of Conduct Key Points We will be living in close quarters and spending a lot of time together. Treat others as you expect to be treated. Listen to the adults and follow the rules, even if you don t like the rules. If you are asked to sit and listen, sit and listen. If you are asked to quiet down and go to sleep, quiet down and go to sleep. We are counting on everyone to be on time to activities and to be where you need to be. If you are unsure ask an adult or counselor. Some of us may like to play jokes or make fun but others do not. We must respect each other s feelings. If you can t say something nice, don t say anything at all. When we are frustrated with each other, we will smile and walk away or find an adult, counselor or teen leader to talk to. We will not threaten each other or tell each other we will hurt each other.

14 Code of Conduct Key Points We will keep our hands to ourselves. Our bodies will not touch each other s bodies in hurtful ways. We won t punch, pinch, slap or hit. And we won t use something else to do this either. We have our own space. Our cabin is our space; our room is our space; our bunk is our space. We stay in our own space. We do not go inside other people s cabins, rooms or areas. If you have a problem, if you don t like the way someone is treated or how you have been treated, first ask them to stop. If they are not willing to accept your request, talk with an adult. We want to tell the truth. We want to share our worries and concerns but we want to be sure we are truthful. If you have not seen it, done or been part of it, don t repeat it. Camp is a privilege and campers are expected to behavior appropriately while at camp.

15 Medical Information & Release Medicine can be dropped off at check in if you want cabin leader to administer A 24 Hour Nurse is on staff at camp Update Medication Summary by Thursday before departure ONLY IF there changes need to be made Last minute Monday Departure changes are discouraged and limited to emergency changes only

16 Over the Counter & Prescription Medications Summary Check Yes or No to indicate if you allow your child to receive the following medications while participating in 4-H programming.

25 CAMP MAIL & TELEPHONES If you would like to write your child while at camp you can do so. In order for the mail to arrive in time, you will need to mail it on the Friday before we leave.
