1 Withdrawal Announcement April 9, 2002 Selected IBM Tivoli Products No Longer Orderable by Program Products Remain Available through Consolidated Offerings Overview To further enhance IBM Tivoli software as essential Business Impact Management tools, the IBM Tivoli product line is being consolidated to provide greater value and to simplify the complexity of management. These enhancements leverage the powerful solutions for which IBM Tivoli is well-known, combining their value to help meet our customers needs. Current products are being offered as fewer, more logical, solution-oriented offerings. No products are being abandoned. As a result of this consolidation effort, IBM Tivoli will withdraw from ordering the selected pre-consolidation program numbers licensed under the IBM International Program License Agreement. The capability in these products will remain available through consolidated offerings. The Value-Based Pricing model for Tivoli Storage Manager and for the Tivoli Data Protection offerings is available until February 3, 2003, which is the effective date of withdrawal from ordering for these products. For Tivoli Storage Manager license entitlements under this pricing model, customers will receive the IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Enterprise Edition Version 5 (V5) level of code. Use entitlement for the code delivered will be governed by the terms and conditions under which the license entitlements are acquired. IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Enterprise Edition V5 code includes components of Tivoli SANergy. Use of LAN-Free backup and restore to disk is entitled for customers with Managed Systems - SAN entitlements only. The Tivoli SANergy components included with the IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Enterprise Edition V5 code may not be used for any other purpose. Managed tape library entitlements are required for tape libraries greater than three drives and 40 slots. The number of Tivoli Management Points required for a Tier 1 server for Tivoli Disaster Recovery Manager has been reduced to 180 from 360. 2 Additional Information Summary Selected 5697 and 5698 pre-consolidation program numbers licensed under the IBM International Program License Agreement will be withdrawn from ordering effective May 9, 2002 (May 23, 2002 or February 3, 2003 for Storage products). First Year Support for the withdrawn program numbers, that is orderable under support program numbers 5697-SPT, 5697-UPK, and 5698-SPT, will be withdrawn from ordering effective May 9, 2002 (February 3, 2003, for Storage products with support orderable under 5698-SPT). First Year Support Upgrades for all program numbers, including those that remain orderable, will be withdrawn from ordering effective May 9, 2002 (May 23, 2002, for the First Year Standard to Standard-24 Support Upgrade for Storage products). End of service is announced for all versions and releases of Tivoli SecureWay Security Manager effective April 26, 2003 (UNIX security capability is replaced with IBM Tivoli Access Manager for Operating Systems and the provisioning capability is replaced with IBM Tivoli Identity Manager). End of service is announced for V2.0 of Tivoli Application Performance Management effective June 30, 2003 (replaced with IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Transaction Performance).
