These goods are part of Aprendamos Juntas program. C. Name of the person in charge: Edna Lima de Morales D. Total amount received: First we received the total amount of $26,336.49, and then received $9,772; totaling $36,08.49 E. Total amount executed: $ 28, F. Benefited communities: Santa Mónica G. Participants: Thirty four people participated. From these, eleven people were volunteers from the Go Gua Canada team and the rest were part of Asociación Puente s internal personnel. H. Activity s objective : Installation of solar panels and rain recollection systems, which contribute to reduce the prevalence of infectious and respiratory diseases. I. Beneficiaries: Forty nine women and their families from the community of Santa Mónica.

Benefited population: With this project, 49 women, and their families, who participate directly in the Aprendamos Juntas project from Santa Mónica community, from Santa María Cahabón, Alta Verapaz were benefited. Monitoring and supervision: The monitoring and the supervision will take place periodically. It will assure the proper use and maintenance of the installed goods. E. Results: Forty nine families from Santa María Cahabón will be less exposed to hazardous living conditions and will have access to water thanks to the rain collection systems installed.

4 04 >>> Narrative Report A. General Characteristics of the Program Asociación Puente is a nonlucrative organization that emerges from the analysis of national problematics, such as malnutrition, and the ability that woman have to better the nutritional and health conditions of herself and her family. The organization`s mission is to reduce extreme poverty and prevent malnutrion through the development of women s skills. The objective of the Learning Together program is to improve the food and nutritional security of the women and their families by participating in our three year long program. It is directed towards women in rural areas with high chronic malnutrion, poverty, and extreme poverty rates. The program in Santa Mónica reaches 49 women and their families, who are part of the Aprendamos Juntas program. These women were instructed about the proper use and care of solar panels and rain recollection systems that were installed during the project. The project described in this report was implemented in the community of Santa Mónica, municipality of Santa María Cahabón, Alta Verapaz, given that Asociación Puente has presence in this locality due to its social, economic, and nutritional indicators.

Implementation of the Project in Santa Mónica, Santa María Cahabón, Alta Verapaz With the support of Go Gua-Canada, Asociación Puente installed 49 solar panels and 49 rain recollection systems. The installation of these goods will contribute to reduce risks associated with preventable diseases such as diarrhea. In addition to these efforts, Asociación Puente develops skills in women to help them prevent and avoid complications related to acute and chronic malnutrition in children under the age of five. The lack of drainages and sanitation habits negatively impacts the development of Guatemala To complete this project, the installation of 98 goods was required. For this activity, all necessary materials were prepared and delivered with a month of anticipation. During the installations 34 people participated. From these, were Go Gua Canada volunteers and the rest were internal volunteers from Asociación Puente s central and Santa María Cahabón s offices. With these personnel, 5 teams were formed with approximately six members each. During the following weeks, home visits were conducted in order to corroborate the proper functioning of the installed goods and solve any concerns related to their use.
