After check-in you re free to explore Osaka s cutting edge modern architecture, the riot of glowing neon reflected in the waterways, and to discover for yourself why Osaka is called the nation s kitchen. 25/09/19 - Osaka Tour Explore Namba, gateway to the Osaka s southern centre and the pulsating neon and giant 3-D overhead food displays that jam the streets of Dotonbori. Cook takoyaki, grilled balls of dough with octopus, and explore Shinsekai, the New World neighbourhood built to model Paris and New York, complete with Eiffel Tower. 26/09/19 - Match Day: England v USA, Kobe Misaki Stadium, 19:45 You have the morning free to explore before the evening match in the picturesque harbour town of Kobe. Ride the red Ferris wheel atop the HEP FIVE building for a view of the entire city. Take a river cruise through downtown on the Aqualiner if you like. Later in the day we depart for the stadium by bus, and we ll return you by bus for this and all matches. Meals Included: Breakfast. 27/09/19 - Osaka Tour Today we visit the floating garden at the Umeda Sky Building, then cross a network of moats, turrets and walls surrounding the majestic Osaka Castle. Get a view of the entire Osaka Plain from atop the castle tower. Next, explore Dotonbori and the giant, neon 3-D food displays overhead that jam the streets. Wrap things up with a walk through the Aqua Gate at Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan, the world s largest aquarium and see the gigantic whale sharks swimming overhead. 28/09/19 - Match Day: Argentina v Tonga, Hanazono Rugby Stadium, 13:45 You ll have a bit of free time in the morning before our bus transfer to Hanazono Rugby Stadium for the early afternoon match. Have you seen Namba Yasaka Shrine yet? The shrine s alter sits inside the open mouth of a mythical Chinese lion, almost three-stories tall!

4 TOUR DETAIL 29/09/19 - Transfer to Hiroshima Morning departure by bus to the hauntingly beautiful Hiroshima. Once checked in, explore the city and ride the Hiroden streetcar around town to visit the fivestory Hiroshima castle and adjacent Shukkei-en Garden, where mountains, valleys, forests and lakes are recreated in miniature. Be on the lookout for okonomiyaki, the signature dish of the region, and Hiroshima s famous oysters, which are excellent year-round. In the evening, settle in to a neighbourhood izakaya, Japan s version of a pub, for a series of small dishes to pair with the excellent local sake and beer. 30/09/19 - Hiroshima/Miyajima Tour Site of the world s first atomic bombing, the city of Hiroshima is now a symbol of the wish for world peace. Visit the Peace Memorial Park, then board a ferry to the exquisite and iconic Miyajima Island, site of the floating red torii gate in front of Itsukushima Shrine. On the island, feed wild deer and walk through the gorgeous and sprawling shrine jutting out over the water. Return by ferry and visit the Kobo Brush Museum in the small town of Kumano, just east of Hiroshima, and make your own calligraphy brush. 01/10/19 - Transfer to Fukuoka After breakfast, we depart Hiroshima by bus bound for Fukuoka, a coastal on the northwest coast of Kyushu. You re free after check-in at your hotel. Take a walk and catch the sea breezes off the Sea of Japan, and don t miss Fukuoka s yatai: tiny, casual food stalls lined up along the waterside, especially at Nakasu. Wander along, leisurely eating and drinking your way down the row! 02/10/19 - Match Day: France v USA Fukuoka Hakatanomori Stadium, 16:45 Your morning is free to explore Fukuoka before the afternoon bus transfer to Fukuoka Hakatanomori Stadium for the afternoon match against France. Go for a robot encounter at Robosquare, or have a Zen moment at Shojuku-ji, Japan s oldest Zen temple. Meals Included: Breakfast. 03/10/19 - Kitakyushu Tour Today we travel to the northern tip of Kyushu and visit Karato Market in Shimonoseki, where 80% of the potentially lethal Japanese blowfish is traded. You ll walk the promenade at Moji Port Retro Area, international trading port with well-preserved historic Western buildings lined up along the waterfront. Next, take off your shoes and step up into the Shoin-style building in the garden of Kokura castle, last castle standing in Fukuoka Prefecture, and experience the Japanese concept of borrowed scenery as the castle completes the garden landscape. 04/10/19 -Transfer to Tokyo Take to the skies after breakfast for your flight to Tokyo. See if you can spot Mt. Fuji from the window as you approach the Tokyo area. Following check-in, you are free to explore on your own for the rest of the day. Why not see the city from the water? Cruises depart regularly from Nihombashi near Tokyo Station. Or hop over to neighbouring Ginza for some shopping and the Mitsui Museum. You might visit Asakusa s Thunder Gate at Senso-ji, then see the city from the top of Tokyo Tower. 05/10/19 - Match Day: England v Argentina, Tokyo Stadium, 17:00 Your morning is free, and you might spend it in traditional down-town Tokyo in Sumida at the Edo-Tokyo Museum, and then visit Sumo Central at the nearby Kokugikan sumo tournament centre and museum. Neighbourhood restaurants serve up chanko nabe, the stew eaten daily by sumo wrestlers. 6/10/19 - Match Day: New Zealand v Africa, Tokyo Stadium, 13:45 You ll have a bit of free time in the morning before our bus transfer to Tokyo Stadium for the early afternoon match, and you might go for a long walk along the cherry tree-lined river in Nakameguro, stopping at some of Tokyo s best boutique coffee shops and bakeries. 7/10/19 - Tokyo Tour From Harajuku, mecca of pop culture, walk through giant wooden torii gates into the sacred forest of Meiji-jingu, a Shinto shrine dedicated to the Meiji emperor. Visit the world s tallest tower, Tokyo Skytree, and walk along the glass-floored Tembo Galleria at 450 metres above ground. Next stop is the Imperial palace and garden, with buildings and gardens dating from the Edo period.

5 Fast-forward in time and leave tranquillity behind as we drop in on the vibrant and pulsating Akihabara anime and electric town. 8/10/19 - Mt. Fuji Tour Fuji-san, as it is commonly known, is the highlight of the day. Japan s tallest peak and an active volcano, it is the beloved symbol of the nation and a sacred mountain. Travel by bus to Lake Kawaguchi, serene reflecting pool for Fuji-san, then meander around the Oshino Eight Ponds for views of Fuji-san as a backdrop for traditional, rural scenery. Meet up with ninjas at the Oshino Ninja Village then enjoy lunch prepared with local ingredients before heading up to Fuji-san s 5th station (out of 10). Return to Tokyo by bus in time for dinner on your own. 9/10/19 - Match Day: Argentina v USA, Kumagaya Rugby Stadium, 13:45 After breakfast you ll ride in style on a chartered bus to Kumagaya Rugby Stadium in Saitama Prefecture to watch the Eagles battle Argentina. Prepare your large luggage tonight for sending in advance, and travel tomorrow with your KSG provided carry-on case. 10/10/19 - Transfer to Kyoto Depart Tokyo on the bullet train to Kyoto, the Old Capital. Head out for a walk and breathe in the soft Kyoto air as you get your bearings around town. Head east from the hotel to the Kamo River, turn left to walk upstream, then head back west when you get to Sanjo-dori (3rd street) to get the feel of classic Kyoto. You re free to explore on your own the whole day. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch box. 12/10/19 - Nara Tour Today we visit nearby Nara, Japan s first permanent capital and cultural treasure chest. Meet the Great Buddha at Tōdai-ji temple, see hundreds of deer in Nara Park, and experience Kasuga Grand Shrine, protectorate of the Fujiwara Clan. More than 3,000 lanterns line the walk approaching the shrine, one for each of the 3,000 Kasuga shrines throughout the country. Like many Shintō shrines, Kasuga Grand Shrine is nestled in a sacred grove, and countless small wooden shrines and mossy, ancient stone lanterns dot the maze of paths through the forest. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch 13/10/19 - Match Day: USA v Tonga, Hanazono Rugby Stadium, 14:45 You ll have a bit of free time in the morning before our bus to Hanazono Rugby Stadium near Osaka, where we watch pool match USA v Tonga, followed by a bus transfer back to your hotel. Set out early for the historic Nishiki Market, and nibble your way through the open-air food extravaganza under an arcade of stained glass. Meals included: Breakfast 14/10/19 - Today we say Sayonara as your tour comes to a close. Our team will arrange your transfer to Itami Airport (services Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto). If you had purchased the extended tour for the opening 5 nights we will transfer you back to Tokyo. 11/10/19 - Kyoto Free Day You have the entire day free today for touring Kyoto. Visit Ni-jo castle, built in 1603 by Japan s first shogun, with masterpieces painted on sliding doors and a nightingale corridor that chirps under your footsteps. Or head south to Fushimi Inari Shrine, where thousands of orange-red torii line paths up the mountain. In central Kyoto, walk the same narrow matchya-lined Pontocho alley that Geishas do, scouting a spot for an unforgettable dinner. Over in Higashiyama, unforgettable temples dot the hillside, such as Nanzen-ji with its Sanmon Gate towering above the trees and Ginkakuji, the so-called Silver Pavilion.
