2 Duomo Cathedral is one of the most famous buildings in Europe. It is the largest Gothic Cathedral and the second largest Catholic Cathedral in the world. Duomo is decidedly the most impressive structure in Milan. Standing proud in Piazza del Duomo, this behemoth cathedral has seen more than 600 years pass by. La Scala or Teatro alla Scala is an opera house in Milan, Italy. The theatre was inaugurated on 3 August 1778 and was originally known as the Nuovo Regio Ducale Teatro alla Scala (New Royal-Ducal Theatre alla Scala). The statue of Leonardo da Vinci is in Piazza della Scala, prominently displayed in front of the international temple of bel canto.
