Few things can match the effervescence, vigor, and brightness of a traditional fair like the world-famous Pushkar Fair. The fair, held each year in the month of Kartik (October/November), is a place for religious services, cattle trade, arts and crafts, and community gathering. A visit to the Pushkar Fair is truly the experience of a lifetime! ITINERARY This tour will depart only ONCE per year! > Day 1 - Arrive in Delhi Arrive at Delhi International Airport where you receive assistance and a transfer to the hotel. Rest and recover from your plane flight as you spend your day at leisure. Overnight at the hotel. Day 2 - Sightseeing of New Delhi After breakfast, enjoy a full day city tour of Delhi where you can visit sites such as India Gate, Raj Ghat, Red Fort and Qutab Minar. Later drive past the President s House, Parliament House, and Secretariat Building before returning to your hotel for an overnight stay. Day 3 - Travel to Agra, home of the Taj Mahal After breakfast, check out of your hotel and embark on a drive to Agra. Upon arrival, check-in to your next hotel and take an afternoon visit to Agra s Red Fort which is surrounded by a 70ft high wall. In the evening, enjoy a visit to the Taj Mahal, India s most fascinating and beautiful masterpiece, and admire its pure white marble shimmering silver in the moonlight. Stay overnight at the hotel. Day 4 - Travel to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri After breakfast, check-out and drive to Jaipur, visiting the abandoned Mughal palatial complex of Fatehpur Sikri en route. The main entrance to the complex, Buland Darwaza or "Great Gateway", is reached by an impressive flight of stairs. Check-in to your hotel upon arrival in Jaipur. Experience an evening cultural dinner and show at the Ethnic Village Resort, where you can also take in camel rides, puppet shows, fortune tellers, and village crafts before returning to your hotel for an overnight stay. Day 5 - Sightseeing of the Pink City After breakfast, take a guided tour of the red sandstone Amber Fort. Later a half-day city tour of Jaipur covers many of the city s highlights such as Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), City Palace, and Jantar Mantar Observatory. Stay overnight at the hotel. Day 6 - Travel to Pushkar After breakfast, check out of your hotel and drive to Pushkar, the city of Brahma. After lunch, take part in the Pushkar Fair activities and visit various temples and the sacred lake. Dinner and overnight in a deluxe tent accommodation. 1

2 Day 7 - Enjoy the day at the Camel Fair; Later drive to Jaipur The day is yours at leisure to witness and participate in the Pushkar Fair. Later this afternoon, transfer by car to Jaipur and stay overnight at your hotel. Day 8 - Travel to Udaipur, "City of Lakes" After breakfast in Jaipur, check-out and transfer to the airport for your flight to Udaipur. You are met with assistance upon arrival and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, take a tour to the Eklingji and Nagda temples. Eklingji is famous for the beautifully sculpted temple complex built in 734 A.D. with 108 temples within its high walls. Nagda is an ancient place in Mewar and the former capital of Bappa Rawal, boasting a magnificent torana exquisitely carved with graceful apsaras. This ancient site, dating back to the 6th century A.D., is renowned for the Sas-Bahu temples with their interesting architecture and carvings. Return to the city of Udaipur, where you may take an optional evening cruise on Lake Pichola. Stay overnight at the hotel. Day 9 - Sightseeing of Udaipur and return to Delhi After breakfast, visit Udaipur s City Palace, Jagdish Temple, and Folk Art Museum. Check out from the hotel by 12:00 noon and transfer to the airport for your flight to Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi, you can choose to transfer to the international terminal for your international flight home, or elect to prolong your stay in fascinating India with one of our extension tours. DESTINATION INFORMATION Agra Agra, which lies on the west bank of river Jamuna, became one of the principal cities of the Mughal Empire, as the capital of the Emperor Shah Jahan and his beautiful Queen Mumtaz Mahal. Its beautiful monuments and the rich presence of color and harmony make it a place worth visiting at least once. But the most important of Agra s tourist attractions and its main claim to fame is the magnificent Taj Mahal, the pride of India. Taj Mahal is considered as one of the eight wonders of the world. The architecture alone has inspired reams of rapture over the years. Other tourist attractions in Agra include the Rambagh and Dayalbagh Gardens, Chini ka Rauza, and Jama Masjid. Agra Red Fort, an elegant military structure constructed by Akbar (but partially converted into a palace by Shah Jahan), gives you a feel of Agra s rich past. Fatehpur Sikri The royal city at Fatehpur Sikri, situated 26 miles west of Agra, was built at the orders of the Mughal Emperor Akbar. It is predominately built in red sandstone. The Emperor buildt a magnificent city as an act of gratitude to a saint, made it the capital of his empire, and then, due to the shortage of water supply, the pristine complex was abandoned. This deserted city has two complexes. The first has the royal enclosure of the palaces and the official buildings. And the second dargah of a Sufi saint, with a mosque and a lofty gateway. 2

3 Jaipur Jaipur is one of the most beautiful cities in India. In 1876, Jaipur dressed itself in pink to welcome Prince Albert and Queen Elizabeth II, and thus the nickname Pink City is still attributed to it. Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan, the desert state in India, which is famous for its majestic forts, opulent havelis, beautiful lakes and sand dunes. It is also home to gold and silver jewellery made in the Kundan and Meenakari traditions, which are now world famous. The city also has an excellent infrastructure to support the tourism. Jaipur has some of India s best hotels, which compliment the scenery and architectural beauty of the Pink City. New Delhi The national capital territory of Delhi is situated between the Himalayas and Aravalis Ranges in the heart of the Indian sub-continent. Delhi is considered one of the most historic capitals in the world, and two of its monuments the Qutab Minar and Humayun s Tomb have been declared World Heritage Sites. Exploring Delhi is both rewarding and fascinating. The most visited places in Delhi include the majestic Red Fort, the historical Chandni Chowk, as well as Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana -- modern structures constructed after India s Independence in The city was built and destroyed seven times and has been witness to the various events which have brought India through the history books. It is believed that the Pandavas, the heroes of the epic Mahabharata, originally founded Delhi (then called Indraprastha) around 1200 B.C. Present day Delhi is built around the ruins of seven ancient cities. As a commercial hub, Delhi has many shopping areas to offer its tourists. Visit the upscale avenues of Connaught Place, or go to Delhi Haat for handicraft goods. Pushkar Home of the famous Pushkar Fair, Pushkar is located on Pushkar Lake, 11 kms from Ajmer. It is surrounded by hills and sand dunes. Pushkar houses 400 temples and is a sacred pilgrimage site for the Hindu community. It is believed that for five days each year (during Kartik), that all the gods visit Pushkar and bless the devout. These days also coincide with the biggest cattle fair of the country, Pushkar Fair. At the fair you can find camel and horse races, local artisans and handicrafts, camel shows, performances, a lovely rose garden, and yoga and meditation experiences. Udaipur Udaipur is known as the Venice of the East and is also called the City of Lakes. It is certainly an oasis in the landscape of Rajasthan, with blue waters surrounded by beautiful green hills. Udaipur has been the capital of the world s longest ruling dynasty - the Sisodias of Mewar. The temple of Eklingji, the patron deity of Udaipur royal family is worth visiting as are the nearby Sas-Bahu temples at Nagda. Lake Pichola is one of the central attractions of Udaipur. If I have a specific diet restriction or preference, will you be able to accommodate my request? All efforts are made to accommodate reasonable diet preferences. Please advise us of which city you would like to fly to at the end of your tour and we can quote you the additional costs for the airfare. What is the recommended gratuity? Gratuities are solely at your discretion, and should reflect your enjoyment of the journey and your satisfaction with the quality of service provided. As a general guideline, per day, a tip of $10 for the driver and $5-$10 for the guide is appropriate. Are doctors available at all times? We have identified qualified doctors in each destination you visit. These doctors are available in any case you need emergency medical attention. From points North: Via Route 1: Take Route 1 South towards Trenton. After you pass Forrestal Village Campus, you will begin to see signs for Downtown Princeton &Shopping. Turn right on Washington Road. Follow Washington Road for approximately 1.5 miles. Turn left on Nassau Street (Route 27). Turn right on Stockton Street (Route 206 North) &follow for approximately 4 miles. Turn right onto Wall Street. Via Route 287: Take Route 287 South towards Somerville. Take exit 17 for Route 206 South (Somerville). You will pass through a traffic circle follow signs for Route 206 South. 12

13 Follow Route 206 South for approximately 12 miles. Turn left onto Wall Street. From points South: Via the Garden State Parkway: Take the Parkway North/South to exit 98 for Route 138 West toward Trenton. Route 138 West becomes Route 195 West. Follow 195 West for approximately 17 miles. Merge onto Route 295 North toward Trenton. Follow directions below. Via Route 95/ 295: Take Route 95 North until it becomes Route 295 North toward Trenton. Take exit 67A and merge onto Route 1 North. Follow Route 1 North for approximately 5 miles. Take the exit for Washington Road. Turn right on Washington Road. Follow Washington Road for approximately 1.5 miles. Turn left on Nassau Street (Route 27). Turn right on Stockton Street (Route 206 North) &follow for approximately 4 miles. Turn right onto Wall Street. By train: Princeton Junction is the main train station along the Northeast Corridor for Amtrak and New Jersey Transit. Visitors can take a cab from here to Princeton or transfer to a one-car train to Princeton called the "Dinky". The train ride takes about 5 minutes, and drops you at University Place across from McCarter Theatre. If you choose this option, be sure to purchase a rail ticket to Princeton for presentation upon boarding the Dinky. Our office is a 10-minute cab ride from Princeton station (approx. 4.5 miles). By bus: Several buses arrive and depart daily from Princeton Research Park (i.e., New Jersey Transit s 605 Montgomery Line). From the bus station, walk into the Research Park office complex.
