2 Oskar Bistro Project Overview Oskar Bistro celebrated its grand opening last month. Located on Sukumvit Soi 11, one of Bangkok s most popular entertainment districts, the new venue features an informal café atmosphere with contemporary design furnishings. On the menu of this French-influenced bistro is a selection of casual French fare, American food, salads, homemade soups and entree specials. The owner of Oskar Bistro is Stéphane Dumas-Lebrun, a French entrepreneur and architect from Oxyde Architecture & Design. 11 Park Plaza Project Overview There seems to be a flood of hotels opening in the mid-range sector in Bangkok. Some industry professional contend there s an oversupply of luxury hotels and the current market conditions for mid-range hotels in terms of profit are more favorable. A good example is the Park Plaza hotel which just opened in Sukhumvit with room rates starting as low as US$ 100 per night. The property is the Carlson s second Park Plaza hotel in Bangkok. Each room features free wireless Internet (a pet peeve at many of the internationally branded hotels where guests have to pay for this), and an ipod and iphone multi-port media hub. Other facilities of this 125-room property include private meeting spaces for small-to-medium sized events, a fully equipped business center and complimentary wireless Internet in all public areas.
