2 Kyrgyzstan officially the Kyrgyz is a country located in Central Asia. Its capital and largest city is Bishkek. Landlocked and mountainous, Kyrgyzstan is bordered by Kazakhstan to the north, Uzbekistan to the west, Tajikistan to the southwest and China to the east.

3 DEMOGRAPHY Ethnic Kyrgyz make up the majority of the country's 5.7 million people, followed by significant minorities of Uzbeks and Russians. The official language, Kyrgyz, is closely related to the other Turkic languages, although Russian remains widely spoken. The majority of the population (64 percent) are nondenominatio nal Muslims.

4 ECONOMY Kyrgyzstan was the second poorest country in the former Soviet Union, and is today the second poorest country in Central Asia. According to the CIA World Fact book, in 2011, a third of the country's population lived below the poverty line Main Industries: Small machinery, textiles, food processing, cement, shoes, saw n logs, refrigerators, furniture, el ectric motors, gold, rare earth metals.

5 There are 77 public schools in Bishkek (capital city) and more than 200 in the rest of the country. EDUCATION There are 55 higher educational institutions and universities in Kyrgyzstan, out of which 37 are state institutions.

6 EMPLOYMENT Kyrgyzstan has a small, struggling economy, stunted by political strife since its independence from Russia in After Agriculture, the service sector is the second largest sector after agriculture. Approximately 50 % of the population are employed in various sectors.

8 ISSYK KUL TOURIST ATTRACTIONS It is the tenth largest lake in the world by volume (though not in surface area), and the second largest saline lake after the Caspian Sea. Although it is surrounded by snow-capped peaks, it never freezes, hence its name, which means "hot lake" in the Kyrgyz language.

9 SONG KOL LAKE: It is an alpine lake in northern Naryn Province, Kyrgyzstan. It is the second largest lake after Issyk Kul Lake, and the largest fresh water lake in Kyrgyzstan. Its beauty is greatly praised, but it is rather inaccessible.

10 THE PAMIR MOUNTAINS The Pamir Mountains are a mountain range in Central Asia. They are among the world s highest mountains, " and since Victorian times, they have been known as the "Roof of the World

11 MUZTAGH It is the second highest (7509 metres) of the mountains which form the northern edge of the Tibetan Plateau (not the second highest of the mountains of the Tibetan Plateau).

12 SULAYMAN MOUNTAIN The Sulayman Mountain (also known as Taht-I- Suleiman, Sulayman Rock or Sulayman Throne) is the only World Heritage Site in the country of Kyrgyzstan. The rock rises abruptly from the surrounding plains of the Fergana Valley and is a popular place among locals and visitors, with a splendid view

13 THE ALA ARCHA NATIONAL PARK The park, which includes the gorge of the Ala-Archa River and the mountains surrounding it, is a popular destination point for weekend picnicers, hikers, horse trekkers,skiers as well as mountain climbers looking for challenging ice, rock and mixed routes.

15 ALTYN ARASHAN Altyn Arashan (Golden Spa) is a valley and mountain resort near Karakol and Issyk Kul Lake, northeastern Kyrgyzstan. It is said to "include three groups of nitric thermals springs on the right side of the Arashan River, 20 km southeast of Karakol Mountain, situated in a picturesque forest landscape at an altitude of metres

16 " The resort has numerous wooden sheds which contain hot sulfurous pools to cure various ailments. The resort is set in a botanical research area called the Arashan State Nature Reserve which has about 20 snow leopards and a several bears.
