13 HAUTE COUTURE IN PARIS A two-day journey PARIS CAPITALE DE LA MODE Immersion in a Haute Couture workshop Day 1 Day 2 Initiate your journey and delve into the delicate world of a unique Haute Couture workshop. Gathered here in one place, there is all the expertise one needs to transform drawings to dress and a-like. From patronage to finishing details, you will be privy to the full Haute Couture experience. In the morning, you will join a renowned jewellery designer for tea at his private salon. A chauffeur will drive you Rue De La Paix for this very special tea-time, combining high fashion jewellery and Haute Couture. Indeed, you will also experience a lesson in feather fitting. Initiation to Haute Couture embroidery After lunch, you will be invited to learn one of the oldest and in many way the most exceptional Haute Couture techniques: embroidery! To visit this workshop you will be guided by the little hands themselves. Once in the embroidery atelier, you will learn, amongst other things, how to handle a loom. The afternoon will be spent exploring the studios and grand, private salons of an Haute Couture Maison, marveling at their view over Place Vendôme. 14 PARIS TRENDY GASTRONOMIC SCENE A two-day journey NOUVELLE SCÈNE PARISIENNE A day with a French Chef Day 1 Day 2 This morning, you will be guided through the streets of Paris by top chef Alexandre Giesbert, discovering the new, Parisian, gastronomic scene. Meet his chefs, fellow craftsmen and friends in restaurants and ateliers across the city, for what is set to be one of the tastiest days of your life. Enjoy a free afternoon and then reach the prestigious Galerie Vivienne with the mixologist of the moment, Thibault Mequignon. You will be invited to a masterclass in cocktail making at his new trendy bar Danico. In the evening, join the Italian sisterrestaurant Daroco, meet again and dine with its owner, Alexandre Giesbert. Settled in the former Jean-Paul Gaultier boutique, the decor is just beautiful. Start your day with a playful hands-on workshop, in a new age hipster butchers shop. You will learn the art of sausage making and then have the opportunity to taste them accompanied by a glass of champagne. Then, you will have some time to walk around Paris, before meeting a young Michelinstarred chef in his private apartment. Experience a unique moment, relax and feel at home whilst your chef prepares a gourmet dinner to remember. 15 HAUTE GASTRONOMIE IN PARIS A three-day journey LES ÉTOILÉS Day 1 Begin your journey at the Ritz and join the reputable Escoffier school of cooking, for a lesson in French pastries. Learn precision and techniques, making: macaroons, choux, chocolate pastry and any other delicacies you would like to include. Enjoy some free time around Place Vendôme and then, walk through the door of Le Meurice for a unique dinner experience at the chef s table; with a view on the kitchens of their 2* Michelin starred restaurant. Day 2 Start with an encounter with Enrico Bernardo, who was elected the world s best sommelier in Enrico will meet and tour you around his prized wine cellars before inviting you to taste some of his favorite bottles. Afterwards, you will relax and enjoy lunch at Il Vino, his Michelin-starred restaurant. Later, you are invited to a private table dining experience, as Michelin-star chef Jean-François Piège will serve up a Grands Crus menu in the privacy of his restaurant s kitchen. He will also arrange for his prized sommelier Caroline Furstoss to look after you for the evening. Day 3 In the morning, you will be invited to a private brunch at a French caviar house, where you will taste what s known as the caviar of the chefs. This house is home to French Michelin-starred chefs, known to have the very best selection in fine caviars. In the late afternoon, you will meet master sommelier David Ridgway on arrival at the cellars of La Tour d Argent for a unique wine tasting menu. 16 FRENCH ARISTOCRACY A three-day journey L ART DE VIVRE Day 1 Opening the day with Madame Marie Dâage, a renowned tableware designer, you will experience French Art De Vivre in a very authentic way. Start with a class in French Etiquette followed by a lovely lunch. Furthermore, after a visit of the castle s forbidden rooms, experiment an olfactory workshop in the footsteps of Marie- Antoinette. You will discover a sensory world along with the beauty rituals and the ingredients of the time. Haute Couture tableware & French Etiquette Lessons Later on, delve into the National Archives where, in the heart of French remembrance you will have access to the Iron Chest, a safe box that contains Louis XIV & Napoleons testaments. Conclude this day with a very special dinner in a 2 Michelin starred restaurant. Day 2 At the outset, discover Versailles castle through a unique olfactory tour, and enjoy an invitation to embark on a sensory journey like that of the 17th & 18th century. Start this experience with a private tour by perfume expert Elisabeth de Feydeau who will reveal to you the hidden spots of Versailles. Day 3 In the morning, enjoy a luxury shopping experience to find the perfect dress and costume suitably for the day s events. Then meet Anne Vitchen, flower designer for the Ritz Paris and attend her floral, art lesson. End the afternoon with a visit to David Mallet at the Ritz s hair salon. The best is yet to come as a chauffeur will drive you one hour from Paris, to Janvry s castle! 17 ART: TRADITION & MODERNITY A two-day journey VOYAGE INITIAQUE Restauration workshop Day 1 Day 2 Your morning will start with Cinzia, who runs one of the major French restoration workshop. Responsible for restoring and conserving the paintings at Le Louvre, Versailles Castle and Chantilly Castle among others, this grand 320sqm atelier will allow you to discover the critical-path process from the diagnostic, and examination to the rehabilitation stage. After lunch, you will go behind the scenes of an auction house, learning the trade secrets and marvelling through the archives. Lastly, a rare moment, as you have the chance to wield the auctioneer s hammer. End your day with a very special visit through Le Louvre galleries, after hours, for a VIP grand tour with one of the curators. This day will be dedicated to discovering the French contemporary art scene through various visits and experiences in and around Paris. As a first step, you will be immersed into this exciting, private sector, guided by an expert in contemporary art. Meet several artists in their workshops and visit contemporary venues, as well as lunch with one of the designers. At the next stage, follow a street-artist and learn how an art form can transform a public space such as a Parisian metro station, into one of aesthetic and cultural value. 18 WINE, COGNAC, CAVIAR A three-day journey TERROIR & DEGUSTATION At the heart of a Bordeaux Grand cru Day 1 Start this journey in the world s most renowned wine region, Bordeaux! Welcomed at the heart of the reputable vineyard: Bordeaux Grand cru, AOC Pessac Léognan, you will be privileged to an immersive experience. Tour through the heart of the vineyards and later through the wine cellars for a unique and exclusive visit. Then, discover the manufacturing workshop where each of you will make 1 kilo of your own caviar. Lunch is then served at the village castle, comprised solely of caviar and orchestrated by a chef. After, experiment a very special tasting, pairing different caviars to cognacs. Day 3 Produce your own Caviar Enjoy an exceptional wine tasting, including four vintage bottles, followed by lunch at their 2* Michelin starred restaurant. Day 2 Begin this day with an unforgettable moment producing your own caviar in a sturgeons farm. After a private visit of the estate, you will slip into your overalls and immerse yourself in the fish ponds. Among the 7 year old sturgeons, choose and catch your favourite fish! In the morning, live an exclusive tour behind the scenes of an exceptional Cognac brand. Stroll from the Charente River, through the Cognac vineyards to an exclusive Maison, ordinarily excluded to the public. Enjoy an age-old tasting selection of Eau-De-Vie. In the afternoon, meet a barrel maker and discover the ancient, sensory art of manufacturing barrels. Pass a small island where a community of monks has been living for centuries in an ancient medieval abbey. Tour through their unique vineyards and enjoy a private tasting of home-made wines and olive oils, amongst the olive groves! During a bespoke day, choose to cruise around in-land, visiting vineyards, and discover perched medieval villages or, take part in a pétanque game in Saint-Paul de Vence.
