9 Lake Skadar N, E Lake Skadar, the largest in the Balkans, the only national park dominated by aquatic and wetland ecosystems. 10 Ulcinj N, E The oldest city in the Adriatic Sea (over 2000 years) Ulcinj is the southernmost city on the Montenegrin coast. The influence of the Orient and Western civilization has left a significant trace on this wonderful town. Ulcinj is also known as the dangerous Pirate s Nest (inhabited by pirates from Algeria, Tunisia and Malta) which are ravaging the middle of the seventeenth and early eighteenth century. 13 Durmitor N, E Durmitor National Park, is not only the largest national park in Montenegro, but also one of the most famous around the world. With a large number of number of natural attractions, Durmitor each year attracts many tourists. The peaks of the great mountains (Durmitor massif), a unique canyons, clear rivers, glacial lakes, beautiful dense forest. On Durmitor, you can not enjoy the many and varied species of flora and fauna, and some of them are endemic (1325 species of plants 122 endemic, over 150 herbs, 40 edible mushrooms, 130 bird species, etc). 14 Biogradska gora N, E Unique National Park in Montenegro Biogradska Gora is located in the central part of Bjelasica mountain massif, between 2 beautiful rivers (Tara and Lim) and represent one of the must visit places for tourists. Lake Biograd, Lake Pesica, Lake Ursulovacko, Lake Sisko are the most notable glacier lakes in the national park. But what is absolutely unique in Biogradska Gora, are virgin forest reserves, in the basin of the Biogradska river and Jezerštice. This is one of the oldest protected areas in the world. 15 Prokletije N, E In 2009, Montenegro declared the area as a Prokletije National Park and thus was given the fifth national park in such a small space. Prokletije National Park is located between Montenegro and Albania (similar to the Lake Skadar National Park). Area of Prokletije National Park, due to its inaccessibility, until recently, was a poor mystery. Today however, we have a lot of information that make this destination so spectacular and unique. Very rich historical and cultural life in this area, leave such a great marks from prehistory to our times. A large number of activities, will be offered by the local population and local agencies. 16 Monastery Ostrog N, E One of most visited places in Montenegro is Monastery Ostrog. This magnificent and unique monastery is located above the Bjelopavlic valley, near Niksic. Carved deep and high in rocks, as though keeping old secrets of this shrine. Less than two hours driving from the coast, often obscured by clouds and mist, the most famous pilgrim place in Montenegro. It was built in the 17 century by metropolitan Vasilije from Herzegovina, who lies buried in the Monastery and has been proclaimed a Saint miracle worker. Many tourists visiting this marvelous monastery because it is believed to have magical powers (a prayer in front of the relics helps in recovery or in lessening the misfortunes of life). 17 Wine cellar Šipčanik N, E In 2007 former Yugoslavian air force tunnels were turned into the biggest wine cellar in Montenegro. The hill complex of vineyards also has a splendid view of Lake Skadar and Podgorica. The grape varieties here range from autochthonous Vranac and Krstač to well known varieties such as: Cabernet, Merlot, Sauvignon and Chardonnay. The wine cellar is located at an average depth of over 30m. It s 356 m long, on average 13.5m wide, 7m high, and covers approx m 2. Two million liters of wine have been aging in the wooden barrels and bottles in ideal climatic conditions. The air temperature is C, and the humidity ranges between 70-80%. Within the wine cellar there resides a vinotheque storing bottles of wine up to 10 years old, a tasting hall covering 200 m 2, and a specialty shop.
