FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 7, Kingston, Jamaica - Conservation Through Education Jamaica and The

2 Development Foresight Institute presents SAVE OUR SEA in celebration of World Oceans Day Jamaica is an island that is heavily dependent on the Caribbean Sea and its land resources. As a result, the exploitation of these natural resources often occurs. Conservation Through Education Jamaica (CTEJa), in association with the Development Foresight Institute (DFI), has conceptualized a project to promote education and encourage actions to help lessen the negative effects on Jamaica's environment...save OUR SEA. SAVE OUR SEA will involve the input of relevant beneficiary environmental agencies and organizations. These organizations will be asked to participate by having booths, and to conduct interactive activities at their booths which will stimulate the young minds of our target audience and increase their knowledge of the environment. Our target audience are select preparatory and primary schools in Kingston, specifically 4th-6th grades. The proposed site of the event is UDC'S Orange Park located at the Waterfront, Downtown, Kingston. Save Our Sea recognises the United Nations' World Oceans Day and provides an event which will inform our youth about the importance of the preservation and conservation of our environment. It will be an educational event that will promote sustainability at an early age so as to develop a sense of responsibility for maintaining the health and welfare of our country for the future. Celebrated each year on 8 June since 2009, World Oceans Day is an opportunity to raise global awareness of the challenges faced by the international community in connection with the oceans. Oceans, referred to as the lungs of our planet, provide most of the oxygen we breathe, are a major source of food and medicines and also is a critical part of the biosphere. Our sponsors for the event are Pioneer Manufacturing Distribution Company Limited (makers of Chloro-Do Bleach) and Prestige Logistics Workforce Development Solutions. ### Winston Duke Winston Duke is an actor hailing from the island nation of Trinidad & Tobago, best known for his role as M'Baku in Marvel's Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War. At nine years old, he and his family migrated to Rochester, NY where he graduated from Brighton High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University at Buffalo and later attended Yale School of Drama where he would meet Black Panther co-star, Lupita Nyong'o. Duke has also appeared in numerous television series such as Person of Interest, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Modern Family. In 2012, he returned to Trinidad & Tobago for

3 the theater production of An Echo in the Bone. He is set to reprise his role as M'Baku in Avengers 4.
