3 Overall Performance With the addition of Dominica and Suriname, 26 destinations reported tourist arrival data for the year so far. Nineteen destinations recorded overall increases in arrivals, while declines were recorded in seven destinations. For the period January to June, five destinations (out of seven reporting) recorded growth in tourist arrivals ranging from 6.5% in the Dominican Republic to 16.5% recorded in Belize during this period. Marginal declines were recorded in the Cayman Islands (-1.4%) and Saint Lucia (- 1.2%). Moderate growth was recorded in eight out of the 10 destinations reporting data for the period January to May ranging from 1.7% recorded in both Aruba and Jamaica to 8.8% in Montserrat, while Trinidad and Tobago (-5.9%) and the US Virgin Islands (-0.9%) recorded declines. Four destinations reported data for the January to April period with Puerto Rico (2.8%), British Virgin Islands (3.8%), and St. Maarten (9.6%) recording growth and Haiti (-14.5%) recording the only decline during this period. Three destinations out of the four reporting data for the period January to March recorded growth. St. Vincent & the Grenadines recorded a moderate increase of 8.2%, while larger increases were recorded in Cuba (13.5%) and the Turks & Caicos Islands (18.5%). During this time, Dominica recorded a -4.7% decrease in tourist arrivals. Suriname was the only destination to report data for the January to February period with arrivals contracting significantly by -25.6%. By Month Nineteen out of 26 destinations recorded growth in international trips for the month of January. Belize (24.0%) recorded the highest percentage increase in tourist arrivals this month with St. Maarten following closely with 21.8% growth recorded. Out of the seven destinations recording declined tourist arrivals during the month of January, Suriname recorded the largest percentage decrease of -37.5% followed by Haiti with -21.9%. Growth continued in the month of February for 19 destinations, while seven destinations recorded declines in visits this month. Grenada (23.6%) registered the highest percentage increase in arrivals in February, followed by Belize and the Turks & Caicos Islands. Haiti (-18.5%) recorded the largest decline in overall tourist arrivals in February, while other declines for this period ranged between -0.7% in the US Virgin Islands and -13.3% recorded in Suriname. In the month of March, 20 destinations out of 25 destinations reported growth in visitor arrivals. The highest percentage increase was recorded in Montserrat (60.7%) followed by strong performances in Grenada and the Turks & Caicos Islands. Visitor arrivals declined in five destinations including Trinidad & Tobago (-8.9%) and -4.0% in Dominican Republic. Out of the 21 destinations reporting visitor trips data for April only eight destinations recorded growth ranging from a marginal 0.2% recorded in Puerto Rico, to a moderate 11.2% in Belize. Thirteen destinations registered fewer visitor arrivals during this month including significant

4 declines recorded in Montserrat (-16.3%), Haiti (-14.7%), Guyana (-13.9%), and Trinidad & Tobago (-11.5%). Arrivals recovered in nine destinations during the month of May, while eight destinations recorded declines. In contrast to the previous month, Guyana recorded the largest percentage increase in visitor arrivals of 102%. Other increases ranged between 0.5% recorded in Saint Lucia and 19.6% in Belize. Montserrat recorded the highest percentage decrease of -35.2%, while moderate declines ranged between -0.3% in Jamaica to -8.0% in Curacao to. During the month of June, five out of seven reporting destinations recorded increased visitor arrivals ranging from 5.4% recorded in the Cayman Islands to 17.4% in Belize. Declines were recorded in Grenada (-3.1%) and Saint Lucia (-1.9%). By Market United States 1 Out of 21 destinations reporting arrivals from the United States, 16 recorded increased trips from this market and just four recorded decreased arrivals. Growth from this market was recorded in all seven destinations reporting data for the period January to June. Grenada received the highest growth rate in American visitor arrivals of 26.2% followed by 25.9% recorded in Belize, and 20.2% in Antigua & Barbuda. Between January and May, seven destinations (out of eight reporting) recorded increased visitor arrivals from the United States ranging from 0.1% recorded in Curacao to 12.7% in Barbados. Trinidad & Tobago (-3.8%) was the only destination to record a decrease in arrivals from this market during this period. Both destinations reporting arrival data from the United States during the period January to April experienced market contractions, with Haiti recording a -17.5% decline and Puerto Rico recording -0.1% fewer arrivals from the United States. During the period January to March, the Turks & Caicos Islands experienced a 16.8% increase in visitor arrivals from the United States and St. Vincent & the Grenadines recorded 9.3% more American visitors, while arrivals from the United States to Dominica were virtually flat. Suriname was the only destination to report arrival data for the period January to February, recording a -16.4% decline in arrivals from the United States. Canada Visitor arrivals from Canada to the region grew in eight destinations (out of 23 reporting) and decreased in 15 destinations. Two destinations reporting arrival data from Canada between January and June, Guyana (4.7%) and the Dominican Republic (1.6%), recorded growth from this market, while the other five 1 Tourist arrivals from the USA to Cuba are captured in Other. 5 destinations reporting data during this period recorded declines. Belize registered -14.8% fewer arrivals from Canada, followed by a -11.4% decrease recorded in Saint Lucia. Out of the eight destinations reporting visitor arrivals from Canada during the period January to May, two increased (7.0% in Curacao and 1.8% in Barbados) and six declined. Bermuda recorded the highest percentage decline in international trips from Canada with -12.8% fewer arrivals, followed by Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica. St. Maarten recorded a 11.9% growth in trips from Canada between January and April, while during this period arrivals from the Canadian market declined in Haiti (-12.2%) and Puerto Rico (- 8.3%). The performance of the Canadian market among the four destinations reporting data between January and March was mixed, as the Turks and Caicos Islands (24.9%) and St. Vincent & the Grenadines (1.9%) recorded growth while Dominica (-9.3%) and Cuba (-4.3%) registered declines in arrivals. Suriname experienced robust growth in the Canadian market between January and February with arrivals increasing by 14.1%. Europe Overall visitor arrivals from Europe grew in 18 destinations (out of 23 reporting) and contracted in five. Between January and June, growth in visits from the European market was recorded in four destinations ranging from 2.2% in Antigua & Barbuda to 27.7% in Guyana. The Cayman Islands, Saint Lucia, and Grenada recorded declines in visitor arrivals from Europe during this period. Seven destinations (out of eight reporting) registered growth in international trips from Europe, during the period January to May, ranging from 1.9% recorded in Barbados to 18.2% in Anguilla. Other strong performances in this market included 15.1% growth in Montserrat and 9.1% in Curacao. Trinidad & Tobago (-18.0%) was the only destination to record fewer arrivals from Europe during this period. All three destinations reporting European visitor arrival data for the period January to April recorded growth. Haiti recorded the highest percentage increase in arrivals from this market during this time of 34.6%. Similarly, growth was recorded in all four destinations reporting visitor arrivals from Europe, between January and March, with the Turks & Caicos Islands registering the highest growth rate of 67%. European visitor trips to Suriname fell by -26.8% between January and February. Cruise Arrivals Performance of the cruise passenger arrivals to the region were mixed, with 12 out of the 23 reporting destinations recording increases and the other 11 registering decreases. Between January and June, cruise passenger arrivals increased in four destinations (out of seven reporting) with Grenada recording a significant 33.2% increase and moderate increases recorded in Cayman Islands, Cozumel (Mexico) and Belize. Saint Lucia recorded the highest percentage 4

6 decrease in cruise passenger arrivals of -16.1% followed by decreases in Dominica and the US Virgin Islands during this period. Eight destinations reported cruise passenger arrival data for the period January to May, five of which recorded growth ranging from 52.6% in the Dominican Republic to 16.8% in Bermuda. In the same period, Barbados, Curacao, and Antigua & Barbuda recorded declines ranging from - 2.0% to -15.6%. Cruise passenger arrivals during the period January to April increased significantly in the British Virgin Islands (45.6%) and in Jamaica (13.8%). The other four destinations (Puerto Rico, St. Maarten, Haiti and the Turks & Caicos Islands) reporting cruise passenger arrival data for this period registered declines. While St. Vincent & the Grenadines registered a 6.5% increase in cruise passenger visits between January and March, Guadeloupe received 19.1% fewer passengers between January and February. 5
