BUIIDDIG PMIT8 ISSUED IN DKCB, 1946 Building permits issued by.ucicipalities which reported to the Dtniou Bure*u or Statistics reached the,lu, or $13,540,946 in Deoeinber, recording a decline from the November total of $18,116,256 but exceeding the December 1944 total of $7,901,591 by 71 per cent. Permits for new ocststructiom were issued in December to the valu, of $10,535,789 and addititms, alteratioms and repairs. $5,205,157. For the current year. permits were granted to the value or $196,142,798 as compared with $ ,466 in the comparable period of 1944, an advanc, of 62 per cent. New housing imite represented in the building permits issued in December by the reporting.ucioipalitiss nered of which 1,337 were new buildings and 170 were couversioms. 3h December Last year, 896 permits were issued for housing wiits, including 765 for the oomstructicm of new buildings and 141 for oomv.rsioms. The aggregate value of new residential buildings, additioms and repairs thereto, was $5,291,709 in December this year as compared with $5,165,938 in Deoember, permits for the comstructitm of 28,462 new dwelling ixiite were granted during the present year as compared with 23,695 in the same period of The permits for 1945 included 25,530 for new buildings and 2,952 cucv.r.ioms.
