2 2016 Dear Parents & Guardians, Summer is finally here! We are all very excited here at Valley View Summer Camp to help your child have a fun and memorable summer! This year, we have many new and exciting activities planned as well as favorites from previous years. My assistant director and I are both teachers in the Montville School District. We have extensive experience working with children with teaching, daycare, and camp counseling backgrounds. Paired with our enthusiastic camp counselors, it is safe to say your children are in good hands! We work hard each day to ensure that each child has a fun, safe, and memorable experience at the Montville Recreation program. Camp runs daily, Monday through Friday for 5 weeks, 9:00am-2:00pm. Before-care is offered from 8:30-9:00am, as well as after-care from 2:00-2:30pm. * Note: Camp starts on Tuesday, July 5th! Campers will eat a mid-morning snack that needs to be sent in from home, as well as lunch at noon each day. Please see the attached flyer for a lunch service called Simply Gourmet that is also available daily. I am looking forward to seeing some familiar camp faces and meeting our new campers as well! Be sure to check out our camp calendar for daily activities and special events. If you ever have a question throughout camp, do not hesitate to ask! We are here to make this summer a great one. 3 The Montville Recreation Department has hired a company called Hi-Tech Imaging to do FANTASY PHOTOS (Ex. Your child s face in place of a famous person s face on a magazine cover.) of the children enrolled in the Summer Camp programs. Due to the high cost of the program we are requesting that children register in advance and pay $8.00 for each of their photo! ****** THERE ARE NO REFUNDS FOR THIS EVENT!!! ****** Students will get an 8x10 photo. The program will take place on the following dates for each of the camps: Valley View for Grades K-2 on Monday, July 25th Hilldale for Grades 3-5 on Tuesday, July 26th Community Park Youth Center for Grades 6-9 on Friday, July 29th Please fill out the registration form below & submit with payment to the Recreation Department, 195 Change Bridge Road, Montville, NJ Note: Payments will NOT be accepted at the camp site! 4 Summer Camp Memo Here are some tips and reminders for the first few days of camp. Morning Drop Off: Please pull around to the front door of Valley View School in a car line. Counselors will be waiting to walk your child inside. If you prefer, you may park and walk your child in to camp. Please drive slowly and carefully! Afternoon Pick Up: You will be able to pull up to the school, and a counselor will walk your camper(s) to the car. Daily Lunch & Snack: Snack time will be at approximately 10:30 each morning. Lunch will be at 12 noon. Please provide a daily snack and lunch for your child in a clearly labeled lunch bag or box. Make sure it includes plenty to drink! If you are ordering through Simply Gourmet, you still need to provide a snack each day. Reminders: Sneakers are the safest choice for footwear! Children will be participating in sports and outdoor activities during the day. Please remember to apply sunscreen each morning! Make sure anything you send to camp is clearly labeled. Please do not hesitate to ask should you have any questions! We are looking forward to a fun and exciting five weeks of camp!

We are Simply Gourmet, a catering company that specializes in lunch services to children. Our meals are nutritionally balanced, delicious and kid friendly. Nothing is fried and our products are free of nut ingredients. We proudly offer an entire line of wholesome meal options which have no gmo s, no artificial ingredients, no growth hormones and no Trans fats; only fresh super foods that promote a healthy diet for children! We will begin providing lunch service to your camp on Tuesday, July 5, Lunches arrive at camp individually labeled and packaged by child. The base meal includes an entrée, side, produce serving. How it works: A variety of entrée selections are offered and you may choose to participate all days or any individual days. There are also many alternate meal options offered on a daily basis; including organic & gluten free options. (Click on the edit this day button to view all choices) New orders, and/or changes to existing orders, must be placed at least three days in advance of the day you would like to receive service. This is referred to as our 72 hour lock out period. Please keep this in mind when you are placing your orders. Order processing is automated by visiting our web site: Click on summer camp link Log in to your existing account or new users will create a new account and follow the directions to place orders for your child (ren). Payments are made on line via credit card or debit card. Our web site offers information on nutritional values, allergy listings, catering services and general updates. 6 Food for Families in Need 2016 Summer Camp Food Drive Parents/Guardians: We are conducting a Food Drive Contest at our three summer camps (Valley View K to 2nd, Hilldale 3rd to 5th and Youth Center 6th to 9th) starting Monday, July 25th through Wednesday, August 3rd. Campers are invited to donate SPECIFIC non-perishable food items to benefit the Montville Kiwanis Food Pantry which is housed at the Little House located near the Eckhardt Activities Barn at 91 Passaic Valley Road in Montville. Collection boxes will be set up at each camp site. Campers will have their name entered into a drawing each time they bring in a non-perishable food item. Each camp site drawing winner will win a $25 VISA gift card. The drawing at each camp site will take place on Thursday, August 4th. PLEASE check the expiration dates on the items BEFORE they are brought in! ONLY the following items will be accepted: Canned fruit peaches, pears, fruit cocktail, etc. Canned tuna packed in WATER ONLY Chef Boyardee canned spaghetti/meatballs GRAPE jelly Macaroni/cheese Canned vegetables any kind Peanut butter (smooth, crunchy etc.) Rice-a-Roni beef or chicken ONLY Spaghetti sauce Boxed cereal non-sugary Powdered milk individual packages (10 to a box) Thank you for helping out our Families in Need!
