1 SELF-SERVICE CAR WASH TECHNICAL BULLETINS 00 WEST 0 TH STREET KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI All rights reserved Bulletin Number: SUBJECT: DAILY/WEEKLY SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE SCHEDULES, CHECK LIST FORMAT As self-service car washes offer more and more services and products, the number of daily and weekly maintenance and service tasks increases. To be certain all such tasks are routinely accomplished at regular intervals, a daily and weekly schedule of such tasks needs to be made and each task then checked off as it is accomplished. Such sheets provide systematic order and minimize forgotten duties. What follows is a separate schedule for each day. The weekly tasks are balanced out over Monday to Friday. Since weekends tend be busiest, no weekly tasks are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. Instead, the maintenance person is scheduled to make a second check of all equipment so that "down time" can be reduced to a minimum. Permission is granted to copy and/or modify these sheets to suit individual needs. Obviously a name change is needed. Some owners prefer a time clock instead of having employees sign in and sign out. Obviously the size of the operation will dictate which tasks the owner wants to reserve for himself and which can be assigned to trusted employees. Here are possible modifications and/or additions for owners to consider in addition to those already listed:. Counting of coins, tokens (probably should be recorded on a separate sheet).. Making of bank deposits, arrangements for receipts.. Purchasing (ordering) and possible pick up of supplies.. Maintenance of books and financial records; payment of bills.. Return of calls for refunds or other possible problems.. Sale of bulk tokens to area merchants and/or individuals. (See bulletin # for details).. Obtaining competitive bids on replacement or new equipment and/or repairs.. Check of previous day s video recording (if any) for unusual happenings. 9. Hiring of subcontractors such as trash services, lawn services, snow removal services and others. 0. Hiring of attendants or part-time workers. It seems obvious that in a one-man, one small location operation, most of these tasks will be done by the owner. Still, in order to grow to a situation with multiple locations, subordinates to the owner will be needed and then these tasks will be done by others.
