Camp people have this saying, Kerrie shares, we live ten months just for two. That s how special camp is to us. Kerrie has participated in camp every year since she was 16 years old, making this her 26 th camp summer. She brings a wealth of experience and talent. A graduate of Bridgewater State University, she holds a B.S. in Physical Education with a concentration in recreation. Her work experience includes a wide spectrum of summer camps, from religious residential to outdoor day camps, from economically disadvantaged to private affluent camps. Camp is camp, explains Kerrie. It is a world where kids can discover themselves, make lifelong friendships, and develop into the people they were meant to be. This type of environment suits Kerrie well, since she is a natural people person. Kerrie loves sports, camping, hiking, and anything outdoors. She thrives on cultivating this same passion for a healthy, active, outdoor lifestyle in each of her campers. My experiences with camp have been incredible, exclaims Kerrie. My goal is to give each of my campers the same wonderful experience. LET'S CONNECT! Facebook.com/ We are happy to announce Alex Dorson as Bernon Family Branch s new Sports and Camp Director this year. Last summer Alex worked at our Y as Assistant Camp and Teen Director and was promoted this past fall to his new position. Alex comes to our YMCA from the MetroWest YMCA, where for 2½ years he served as Site Director for their School Age Program. Alex has a deep background in camps, serving for over 6 years at Camp Lawrence, a Y camp located on Lake Winnipesaukee in NH. While there, he started out as a Camp Counselor and over time grew to the position of Unit Leader, and then Field Trip Director. A New Hampshire native, Alex graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a Bachelor s Degree in Sports Management. In his free time, Alex enjoys golfing, adventuring to new places, and spending time with family and friends. Alex is looking forward to the start of summer and the opportunity to make summer amazing for so many. Camp is so important to kids of all ages, explains Alex. Camp provides a safe place and fun space for kids to get away from the day-to-day stresses of life, school, and screen, and just be a kid again, and simply enjoy the outdoors. LET'S CONNECT! Facebook.com/ Known for her friendly smile and fun spirit, Sports & Camp Director Ashli Phillips is entering her 10 th year at our Invensys Foxboro Branch. Ashli manages all aspects of sports and camp programming within the Invensys Foxboro Branch. Previously, Ashli was employed at the Metro Atlanta YMCA as Senior Director of Sports, Gymnastics, and Camp. A native of Foxboro for the first 12 years of her life, Ashli then moved to Falmouth where she graduated from high school and then continued her education at York College in Pennsylvania. Ashli earned her B.A. in Behavioral Science while competing as a varsity athlete in both soccer and softball. When asked what her favorite thing is about her job, Ashli explains, I love camp! The staff are so full of life; the kids are energized, enthusiastic, and so much fun. Our days are spent acting crazy and laughing, on field trips and with friends, enjoying the beautiful days of summer. I could not ask for a better summer experience every year knowing I am helping children create lifelong summer memories here at camp. LET'S CONNECT!
