It is more convenient than charcoal, wood or gas, easy to ignite and provides heat for an average of 2.5 to 4 hours for cooking and heating. Charcoal pucks provide cooking heat for 1 to 2 hours. 1.2 The domestic market: For cooking at home reduce electricity expense For power outages For lower income households replace paraffin, gas, coal or electricity. 4 2. Introduction Iziko Fuel Briquettes are produced by Izikofuel (Pty) Ltd. The name derives from the Xhosa name for fireplace or hearth, the place in the house where people gather. Iziko Solid Fuel is a solid fuel briquette consisting of coal and other additives with perforations or holes through the briquette matrix and can be used as a general fuel source for domestic use. These voids generate aeration for combustion, and therefore sufficient oxygen for complete combustion. This method of using perforated solid fuel briquettes generates less smoke, burns cleaner and hotter and has more surface area exposed to oxygen. Improved air flow is achieved during combustion. The fuel tablet works more effectively in a device, such as a simple stove. Coal and charcoal is the obvious main constituent for this locally manufactured product, due to its abundance and the availability of coal waste streams from mines. Charcoal is produced from alien vegetation, like black wattle trees. All the components of Iziko Solid Fuel are sourced from waste stream by-products in order to save the environment by reducing the amount of waste material that has to be disposed of. 3. Benefits / Advantages Iziko Solid fuel provides a cheaper, safer, greener alternative for coal, charcoal, wood, paraffin, gas and electricity Less smoke, lower emissions. The rapid ignition and high internal temperature burns out the unfriendly volatiles in the coal. Minimal smell detectable after 15 minutes. Safe to use: Unlike paraffin that is dangerous and causes numerous fires and deaths, Iziko bricks have a low fire risk and less chance of being digested by humans. Cheaper: More economical than paraffin, gas and electricity. Cost per cooking hour less than alternatives. Environmentally friendly: Utilizing waste stream by-products. Approximately 80g of ash is left after the brick has been completely burnt. These ashes are perfectly safe and can be used as a fertilizer in the garden. Ignites with a match. Fully lit and cherry red within 15 minutes. Surface temperature of 360*+ Provides enough heat for cooking for an average of 2,5 hours.

5 4. Products Available: Iziko briquettes: Iziko briquettes are produced from charcoal, igniters and binders and contains no coal. The briquettes are suitable for cooking, heating and braaing. It is available in two sizes, small and large. The small briquette is 95mmx45mm, weighing +/- 140g and the large briquette is 150mmx45mm, weighing +/- 360g. It is compact and lightweight therefore ideal for hikers, bikers and outdoor enthusiasts. The small briquette provides cooking heat for +/- 1 hour, while the large briquette provides cooking heat for +/- 2 hours.

6 Briquettes can be used in Iziko stoves or any other commercial and traditional stoves like Rocket Stoves (in conjunction with Iziko nuts), Jikos and ceramic stoves as well as braai (barbeque) and potjiekos (cast iron cooking) units with sufficient airflow. Iziko Super Igniter: Efficiently ignite anthracite, coal, wet wood, large logs and charcoal.

7 Stoves: The range currently consists of two stoves, the Biker and the Camper Stove. The Biker is made of tin and is currently the smallest stove available. It is ideal for traveling and can be used with enamel pots, pans and kettles. Lid and grid included. Handle detachable for better storage and transport. The Camper is also made of tin and more suitable for families. Ideal for use with enamel pots, pans and kettles. Lid & grid included. Handle detachable for better storage and travel.

8 Heater Basket: The Iziko Nuts are burned inside the basket for heating purposes. It can also be used for cooking. It provides heat for an average of 6 hours. Iziko Nuts: The nuts are packaged in 1kg bags that are suitable for use in the Heater Basket. Included with this is a medium Super Igniter briquette to ensure ignition. The nuts are also packed in a 700g bag with small puck for use in Rocket Stoves, like the Ecozoom stove. The nuts can also be purchased in 10kg bags that are suitable for use in coal and anthracite stoves or the fire place. It is recommended that an Super Igniter briquette always be used for ignition.
