We know that the right type of advice given during the initial stages of the buying process is of major importance to ensure that you have many years of enjoyment from your stove. Price alone should never be the sole reason for choosing a stove and therefore we would strongly recommend that you do not purchase directly from the internet. Capital Fireplaces have set up a network of Authorised Dealers who can offer the correct advice and ensure the product is fitted in accordance with all current Building Regulations. 3 Technical General Information information All Capital & Esse stoves are manufactured from cast iron, therefore it is vital that appliances undergo a period of burning in, this involves small fires initially, gradually increasing in size with each firing. If this process is adhered to you should experience years of enjoyable, trouble free use. Important points Ensure the chimney is of the correct size and height for the stove. Always read user instructions prior to initially using the stove. Only burn seasoned wood that has been stored in the dry for a minimum of two years and has a moisture content below 20%. This will give you up to twice the heat output of freshly felled timber and greatly reduces tar build up in the flue. Do not overload the stove at any one time Avoid burning household rubbish as this can give off harmful gasses and will reduce the stoves performance. Make sure that the stove meets the relevant emissions for the district in which it is to be used. The Environment Wood is a better fuel for a stove from a environmental aspect. The amount of carbon dioxide released into the air through burning is approximately the same as the tree absorbed during its growth which results in the term Carbon Neutral. Wood is also a renewable source as most is now supplied from managed woodlands. All Capital & Esse stoves are CE approved to EN13240 and are suitable for use with wood, coal, coke, peat, anthracite or smokeless fuel. All Capital & Esse freestanding stoves can be top or rear flue exit and incorporate an air wash system which helps to keep the large viewing glass clean during operation and improve efficiency. Comprehensive installation & user instructions are supplied with every stove. It is critical that all installations confirm to relevant Building Regulations and should be carried out by a qualified HETAS solid fuel engineer. Failure to comply with these requirements may reduce the efficiency & serviceability of your appliance and will invalidate any guarantee. It is essential that prior to any installation, a relevant qualified engineer verifies the proposed site, location and conditions are suitable for the stove selected. 2
