Warnings Cast Chimineas are effective outdoor heaters and get very hot, ensure children and pets are supervised at all times when in use. CALFIRE recommend the use of their Chiminea Guard. Due to their excellent heat output, care must be taken to site the unit away from any combustible materials. If placed on decking ensure that the unit is sited on a non combustible base and not directly on wooden surface. Although painted, Cast Iron Chimineas will rust. 10 GARDEN PAVILIONS The Garden Pavilions offered by CALFIRE are manufactured using the highest standards of materials and workmanship. These products are supplied in sections that bolt together to provide an extremely sturdy framework. Pegs are included to enable the product to be fixed to lawned areas, alternatively the fixing holes can be utilised to secure the pavilions to concrete or decking. The pavilions are polyester powder coated to provide the optimum level of rust resistance and the 100% polyester fabric covers are water and UV resistant. The covers are also washable. Pavilions, if securely fixed, can be left out all year round. Alternatively the cover can easily be removed ahead of inclement weather conditions (strongly recommended with the Acorn Pavilion) or the whole pavilion can be taken apart for storage until next required. 13 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Will I need to assemble my Chiminea? Chimineas are supplied boxed and will need some simple assemble when received. A screwdriver and small spanner set is all that is required. Assembly is easier with 2 people as some of the component parts are quite heavy, especially with some of the cast iron versions. Full instructions are provided. Assembly time being about 30 minutes. Where should I position my Chiminea? Cast Chimineas are outside products and should never be used indoors. Due to their excellent heat output, care must be taken to site your Chiminea on a firm, level, non-combustible base, not directly onto wooden surfaces and away from wooden fences or other combustible materials. The Chiminea should not be positioned underneath overhanging branches, or anything else that may be set alight. Can I use my Chiminea straight away? CALFIRE Chimineas are hand painted using high temperature paint. To assist in the paints curing process, and to provide an improved rust protection, it is advisable to comply with the following simple instructions immediately you position your Chiminea: Fit the cooking grate between the Chimineas bowl and the collar/chimney. This should not normally be fitted while using the Chiminea for heating, but will allow the paint on the grate to cure at the same time as on the rest of the unit. Extreme care needs to be taken during this process, as the Chiminea will not be as stable as in normal use. Using kindling only, light a small fire that should burn for minutes. While the Chiminea is still warm, set and light another minute kindling fire. A full fire should then be burnt for approximately minutes, again starting while the Chiminea is still warm, then allowed to cool naturally. Your paint should now be cured. During this curing process try not to breathe in the fumes as although they are not poisonous (almost all CO2), and are extremely unlikely to cause a problem when outside, they can cause dizziness. Are cast Chiminea dangerous? Some companies suggest that Cast Chimineas are dangerous because of the temperatures they reach. Well its obvious that a garden heater that gets hot will radiate more heat, over a much greater area, than one that doesn t! So the choice is yours; do you want the most effective heater in a design that will truly enhance your patio area and be the topic of conversation for family and friends for many years to come, or do you want to play safe and opt for a clay chiminea that will at first look great, but will not provide anywhere near as much heat, and is likely to crack and possibly fall apart, often after a very short time? Do you consider barbeques to be dangerous? The same common sense approach is required with both products. Will I need to assemble my Pavilion? Pavilions are supplied boxed and will need significant assembly when received. Ideally you will require 4/5 people to lift and hold the assembled roof onto the assembled corner/side panels while the top fixings are secured. Full instructions are provided. Expected assembly time is about 1 hour. Once assembled the pavilion can be carefully moved around although this will need a minimum of 4 people to safely achieve. Warranty CALFIRE products are covered against structural failure, under normal conditions of use, for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. Should the unit fail within this period you should contact the supply company for assistance. Surface rust is not considered a breach of the warranty terms, as this will not effect the products performance, or acceptable product life. This statement does not effect your statutory rights.
