5 School Bus Safety! Florida school buses carry precious cargo our children. Motorists should always be alert and drive with caution around school buses and in school zones where children may be present. Motorist and School Bus Safety Tips: All drivers moving in either direction on a two-way street must stop for a school bus displaying a stop signal, and must remain stopped until the road is clear of children AND the school bus stop arm is withdrawn. On a highway divided by a paved median, all drivers moving in either direction must stop for a school bus displaying a stop signal, and must remain stopped until the road is clear of children AND the school bus stop arm is withdrawn. On a highway divided by a raised barrier or an unpaved median at least 5 feet wide, drivers moving in the opposite direction do not have to stop for the bus (painted lines or pavement markings are not considered barriers). However, these motorists should slow down and watch for students loading or unloading from the bus. Be alert and watch for children especially near schools, bus stops, school buses and in school parking lots. Pay extra attention to lower speed limits in school zones. Watch for and obey signals from school crossing guards. Only drive or park in authorized areas to drop off or pick up children at school. Each illegal pass-by could result in a tragic injury or fatality of a student. The inconvenience of an extra few seconds spent waiting for a stopped school bus is insignificant compared to the loss of a child s life. Drivers who improperly pass a stopped school bus commit a moving violation subject to citation and will be required to complete a basic Driver Improvement Course upon conviction. Safety at the Bus Stop: Arrive at the bus stop about five minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive. Never sit on the roadway or the curb while waiting for your bus; wait in a safe place away from the road. Never speak to strangers at the bus stop or get into a car with a stranger. Always tell your parents, the bus driver and a teacher at school if a stranger tries to talk to you or pick you up. When the bus stops, wait for the driver s signal that it is safe to cross the road or board the bus. If crossing the street, look left, right and left again. Make eye contact and make sure your bus driver can see you as you cross the street. Never walk behind the school bus and stay away from the bus wheels at all times.
6 School bus traffic violations can be both dangerous and costly. Remember your bus safety rules, be cautious and drive safely. Let s have a great school year at MuraBella!

9 Important reminders for residents of MuraBella Please remember that your access card is REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES when you are using any of the amenities! Whether you are coming to the gym, pool, to attend a class or bring your child to an event as well. Don t get caught on the wrong side of the gate and miss all the fun! For more information on your access cards, please contact the Amenity Center Office at Access Cards are not transferable. Residents must accompany their guests at all times Periods of inactivity will disable access cards. Please make sure that your cards are currently activated. Please remember: There is NO Night Swimming at MuraBella Our pools are permitted through the state of Florida. It is important to remember that as far as the state of Florida is concerned, dusk is not the same as sunset. Per rule Rule # 64E of the Florida Department of Health, our pools may operate from 30 minutes after Sunrise until 30 minutes before Sunset. All residents must be clear of the pool and pool deck by that time. We must comply with these rules in order to maintain our permits. The Department of Health can, and has imposed fines, suspended, or even terminated pool permits. This would mean a complete shut down of the pool and pool decks until the matter can be resolved.
10 Proper swim apparel is necessary to ensure a pleasant day at the pool for ALL! When deciding what swimsuit to wear to our MuraBella pool, please consider that this is a family, community pool. Should the swimsuit you choose NOT cover all the appropriate parts you may be asked to leave the facility. So, please leave that new, adorable, slightly risqué suit for the beach. 20 Florida is the lightning capital of the United States and it is ranked as the number one state for deaths due to lightning. Did you know that lightning kills more people in the U.S. than hurricanes and tornadoes combined? Lightning travels at the speed of light, while thunder travels at the speed of sound. A single bolt of lightning can discharge about 100 million bolts of electricity and can travel as far as 10 miles from a cloud. It does not need to be dark directly overhead. If you can hear thunder, you are within striking distance! It has been known to travel through clear air and strike 10 miles from the storm like a bolt out of the blue! Lightning is actually 5 times hotter than the sun s surface! With all of this knowledge and critical information we d like to remind you of MuraBella s thunderstorm policy. If we hear thunder or see lightning, we will close the facility for 30 minutes. Every time thunder is heard or lightning is seen, the clock is restarted to 30 minutes. This is strictly enforced for your safety! No life is worth the risk! Crisp, B. (n.d.). When Lightning Strikes. Retrieved June 26, 2016,from Lightning.shtml
