1 GOOD SAM NORTHERN KENTUCKY ANGELS SEPTEMBER 2018 Our September 7, 8, 9 campout weekend was held at Whispering Hills in Georgetown, KY. Those present and camping were Teri, Greg, Don, Stephanie, Mike, Pam, Terry, Cheryl, Jim, Carole, Kim, Bob, Norma and Jud. We welcomed our guests Cheryl and Terry s granddaughters, Kaitlin and Kylie, Bob and Kim s grandchildren, Justice and Evey, Kim s mom, Ann, Donnie s brother and wife, Debbie and Reny. Friday evening was a group dinner at the Cattleman s Steak House in Georgetown. On Saturday, we had a potluck dinner with lots of good food. It was first thought that we would be sharing the shelter with another Good Sam Chapter but turned out incorrect. Bob asked at the office if the shelter was reserved and they said not to their knowledge. So, they said if we wanted it, we could use it all weekend. Well, we did just that. It was a very windy, cold, WET weekend. Did it spoil our fun, not at all? It was great under the shelter, a little breezy but dry. Friday was very hot and humid. It started raining during the night but stopped for our breakfast get-together. Several of us enjoyed playing dominoes and spending time together. Saturday is when it cooled down and rained off and on, but we still kept dry under the shelter. It was not an all-day rain because some of the fellas enjoyed a little fishing time. As mentioned before, Saturday morning, we had everything for a very delightful breakfast and all those that contributed helped top it off. Thanks to everyone for doing such a tremendous job. Our Saturday dinner was our potluck and we again had lots of good food for everyone. Thanks to all who always go the extra mile providing delicious food for sharing. After dinner, well, we had more dominoes and lots of laughter and fun. One thing I do every day is read my fortune in the Enquirer. My Saturday fortune read: You ll be surrounded by comfortable, accepting, fun-loving people. That was certainly a true fortune for that day. And I might add every day that I am with our camping family. It is such a joy. Saturday breakfast is to be determined. Saturday dinner is to be determined. Men, please call Bob for complete details and find out what he needs for you to bring. PLEASE REMEMBER TO CALL AND LET THE PRESIDENT KNOW IF YOU WILL BE ATTENDING. THAT IS APPRECIATED SO VERY MUCH. That brings us to November and the camping season has come to a close. We move indoors. November 10, 2018 Indoor at the Colonial Cottage. Dinner will be between 5:00 and 5:30 with a brief meeting to follow. We will have dinner at the Colonial Cottage and you can start arriving around 4:30 PM. The Colonial Cottage is located at 3140 Dixie Highway in Erlanger. Don t forget to enter on the upper level to avoid the steps. There are no definite plans for after dinner. Please call or Bob and Kim if you will or WILL NOT be attending.

2 Page 2 of 4 September, 2018 December 8, 2018 Christmas Party I really don t want to think about the holidays when we still have some beautiful fall weather to enjoy. But it seems it rolls around every year quicker and quicker. The date and place and plans are for an evening of enjoyment with Don and Stephanie hosting (and helpers) at the Highland Meadows Condo Clubhouse. We will probably order catering for those in attendance. The price will be determined. At this point it looks like it will be turkey and the trimmings. (But not Bob Evans, according to Stephanie) The final decision of what we will be having will be decided at a later date. We certainly appreciate Stephanie and Don hosting our Christmas Party. We all had a great time at their house last year and that is going to be hard to top. A big thank you to Donna for obtaining the clubhouse. FYI at the meeting in August, the Officers for 2019 were nominated and graciously accepted the challenge to remain the same Officers for President, Bob Douglas, Vice-President, Stephanie Wright, Secretary, Kim Douglas, Wagonmasters, Jim Stanley and Jud Daum, Treasurer, Norma Daum. Thanks to those that serve and they are doing a great job. LET THE JOKES BEGIN How to Get Really Smart A customer at Stingray Fishmongers marveled at the owner's quick wit and intelligence. 'Tell me, Simon, what makes you so smart?' 'I wouldn't share my secret with just anyone, 'Simon replies, lowering his voice so the other shoppers won't hear.' But since you're a good and faithful customer, I'll let you in on it. Fish heads. You eat enough of them, you'll be positively brilliant.'

4 'You sell them here?' the customer asks. 'Only $4 apiece', says Simon. The customer buys three. A week later, he's back in the store complaining that the fish heads were disgusting and he isn't any smarter. 'You didn't eat enough, 'says Simon. The customer goes home with 20 more fish heads. Two weeks later, he's back and this time he's really angry. 'Hey, Simon, 'he complains, 'you're selling me fish heads for $4 a piece when I can buy the whole fish for $2. You re ripping me off!' 'You see?' says Simon, 'you're smarter already.' Rubbish Ambition? I recently asked a friend, 'Has your son decided what he wants to be when he grows up?' 'Yes, he wants to be a garbage collector', my friend replied. I had to think about that one for a moment. 'That's a rather strange ambition to have for a career,' I finally managed to reply. 'Well,' said the boy's father, 'he thinks that garbage collectors only work on Tuesdays'. Funny Frog Joke I went fishing this morning but after a short time I ran out of worms. Then I saw a cottonmouth with a frog in his mouth. Frogs are good bass bait. Knowing the snake couldn't bite me with the frog in his mouth I grabbed him right behind the head, took the frog, and put it in my bait bucket. Now the dilemma was how to release the snake without getting bit. So, I grabbed my bottle of Jack Daniels and poured a little whiskey in its mouth. His eyes rolled back, he went limp. I released him into the lake without incident and carried on fishing using the frog. A little later, I felt a nudge on my foot. There was that same snake with two frogs in his mouth. Life is good in the South

On your left hand side there is a valley and on your right hand side there is a fire engine travelling at the same speed as you. In front of you there is a galloping pig which is the same size as your car and you cannot overtake it. Behind you there is a helicopter flying at ground level. Both the giant pig and the helicopter are travelling at the same speed as you. What must you do to safely get out of this highly dangerous situation? Get off the merry-go-round - you're drunk!
