Who are these people? 2. Are they real people or fictional characters? 3. What do they all have in common? 4. What is the name (are the names) of the author who created these characters? 5. Can you name some detective stories, which feature these characters? 6. Have you read any of these stories or watch their movie version? 7. Who would you like to know more about Miss Marple, Hercule Poirot or Sherlock Holmes??

2 2. Составление краткого содержания вводной части трех разных детективных историй из трех перемешанных текстов. 1.Введение новой лексики (заполнение таблицы) индивидуальная работа. 2. Учащиеся объединяются в команды из трех человек. Учащиеся получают смешанных текст или конверт с разрезанными на предложения текстами краткого содержания вводной части трех детективных историй и выделяют или собирают отдельные предложения в историю. Команда, собравшая все три истории первой получает 3 балла. 3. Далее, учащиеся отрабатывают чтение отрывков и участвуют в конкурсе чтецов между командами. (Один балл за безупречное чтение одного текста.) 4. Учащиеся выбирают подходящие названия для историй из предложенного списка. (Один балл за правильное название) 5. Учащиеся должны найти в текстах и добавить в словарную таблицу пять словосочетаний и написать их эквиваленты на русском языке. Команда, справившаяся с заданием наилучшим образом (интересные словосочетания, правильный перевод, учитывающий временно-грамматические формы глаголов) получает 2 балла 6. Учащиеся просматривают отрывок из классической экранизации романа и определяют художественное произведение, лежащее в ее основе. Обосновывают свое решение. 1 балл за правильный ответ и развернутое высказывание 7. Прослушивание и чтение адаптированного изложения романа The Hound of the Baskervilles и одновременный просмотр эпизодов фильма с BBC The Hound of the Baskervilles соответствующих прочитанным отрывкам (выполняется в течении ближайших двух недель в качестве домашнего чтения)

When Sir Charles Baskerville is found dead in the alley by the moor, Dr. Mortimer goes to London to get Sherlock Holmes s help. It all starts when Linnet Ridgeway, one of the richest young ladies in London, steals the fiancé of her best friend, Jacqueline de Bellefort. A notice appears in the newspaper of a small English village: "A murder is announced and will take place on Friday, October 29th, at Little Paddocks, at 6:30 p.m..." She marries Simon and they go on their honeymoon to Egypt. This comes as a surprise to Letitia Blacklock, the owner of Little Paddocks, as she has no idea what the notice means. He reads the manuscript about the family curse, begun over Hugo Baskerville s bad behaviour, and a newspaper article about Sir Charles s death.. She didn't write it. In revenge, Jackie follows them and threatens them. Her friends have no idea about the notice either. After this, the doctor tells that there were footprints of a hound near the body. Miss Blacklock is having a party on Friday, 29th of October, at her house, Little Paddocks. Coincidentally, Hercule Poirot is on holiday in Egypt and takes the same ship to sail up the Nile as the Doyles and Jackie. The villagers are intrigued by the notice, and many people come to the party. Holmes questions him over the details. As the clock strikes 6:30, the lights go out and a door opens and there is a man with a blinding torch.while on board the ship, Jackie shoots Simon Doyle in the leg one night in the saloon. The man shouts: "Hands up! Though Sir Charles was an elderly man and his heart was weak, his footprints showed he was running away from the house in his fright. Most of the guests do so, they think it is part of a game. On the same night, Linnet Doyle is shot in the head while she's sleeping. Then shots are fired into the room, the door shuts, and panic begins. Hercule Poirot takes on the case. Holmes does not believe in the curse himself but he is intrigued by the case and agrees to meet the next day to discuss it. The gunman is shot and Miss Blacklock's ear is injured. During the investigation, two more people are shot and killed Miss Marple visits Miss Blacklock and asks to see the family photo albums. 3. Practise reading the three texts.
