FOOD QUESTIONS Will dinner be provided? No The Museum provides a snack Friday night and breakfast on Saturday morning. PLEASE eat dinner before arriving to The Museum for check-in. Can I have food delivered to The Field Museum or bring my own? No outside food is not allowed at the Museum. In order to help care for the Museum s collections, no outside food is allowed including soda, gum and candy. All right - what food will be provided? A late night snack will be provided at 8:30pm on the evening of the overnight, and a continental breakfast will be provided at 7:30 am the following morning. Can I eat food in the exhibit halls? No, food is not allowed in the exhibits. In order to ensure the artifacts and specimens on display are preserved for years to come, we only allow guests to eat in the designated areas on the ground level of the Museum. Food found in the exhibit halls/sleeping areas will be confiscated. What if I have an allergy or other dietary restrictions? You will be allowed to bring your own food only under the following conditions: o It must be sealed in a heavy-duty plastic container (Tupperware, not a Ziploc bag), labeled with the guests name o It must be given to an overnight staff member at check-in to be placed in the kitchen prep area of the The Siragusa Center (the designated eating area) and left there for the duration of the event (staff will get it for you during snack/breakfast) o Items must be non-perishable, as overnight staff will not have access to refrigeration for guests food Any food not meeting these criteria or that is found in an exhibition hall will be immediately confiscated.
9 SPECIAL NEEDS Who should I contact if I have a special need? If you have special needs (such as need for 24 hour power for a CPAP machine, disabled access, or other health conditions that need consideration) please call the overnight coordinator at at the time of registration to speak about your requests for the evening. Do not wait to contact staff as often arrangements need to be made within various Museum departments and delaying requests may mean not being able to accommodate your needs. SLEEP ARRANGEMENT QUESTIONS Where will I be sleeping if I m here with a group? Each group will have a specific area designated as their sleep space. Sleeping maps will be handed out during check-in. The space you are assigned depends on the size of your group. All groups will be sleeping on the Main Level in the exhibit halls. Note that all the sleeping areas are carpeted. Where will I be sleeping if I m here as a Family (not part of a group)? There will be a space reserved in an exhibition on the Main Level. All General overnight families will sleep in this exhibit. The space assigned for families varies depending on the number of families attending the overnight. Where will I be sleeping if I have Premium Package tickets? Premium Package guests sleep in the Evolving Planet exhibit on the Upper Level. The Genius Hall of Dinosaurs is the space reserved for Premium Package guests; however, if you find a spot you like elsewhere in the Evolving Planet exhibit, you are welcome to sleep there. When can I set up my stuff? Upon arrival guests are encouraged to leave their belongings in their sleeping area as a means of staking out their own spot. Please do not spread out your gear until after snack time, so all guests can enjoy the exhibits. For safety reasons, please be mindful to leave a clear walkway through exhibits when spreading out your gear later in the evening. Outlets are available throughout the museum to inflate air mattresses but some of them will lose power when we shut the lights out so do this before 10:30 pm. Note that tents are strictly prohibited. Twin sized air mattresses is the largest mattress size allowed at Dozin with the Dinos. Will all-girls groups be sleeping in the same area as all-boys groups? Sleep arrangements are based firstly on the size of the group and then on the gender of the group. Every effort is made to put groups of the same gender in the same area. Sleep spaces in the exhibit halls are clearly marked and, surprisingly for a big museum, most halls feel like your own little space. Will I be warm or cold while I m sleeping? Both. We do our best to keep the temperatures moderate and comfortable during an overnight, but this is a big building and temperature can vary from hall to hall. To be safe, we suggest bringing layers of clothes - as in a t-shirt and a sweatshirt. Will I have access to 24 hour electricity in my sleeping area? Maybe. If you need a plug to inflate your air mattress, we recommend doing so before lights-out. In some exhibitions, the power to the outlets will turn off when the lights are turned off. If you need 24 hour access to electricity (for example, if you use a CPAP), please contact overnights@fieldmuseum.org at least one week prior to the overnight event to make sure you are directed to a sleeping location that will have working outlets.
10 DEPARTURE QUESTIONS When do I have to pack up my gear? All your gear (sleeping bags, etc.) needs to be out of the exhibit halls and with you by 8:30 am on Saturday morning. What if I have to leave early? The South Door of The Museum opens at 8:30am on Saturday. If you are leaving before 8:30am please exit via the East Entrance on the Ground Level. If you are leaving before 6am, please contact a member of the Dozin with the Dinos staff or a Protection Services Officer. What should I do on Saturday (or Sunday)? You are welcome to stay and continue exploring the Museum--your general admission has been covered. Make sure you get your hand stamped by a Dozin with the Dinos staff person in order to be let back into The Museum after loading up your gear into your car (or putting it in coat check if you took public transportation). If we stay the next day, what about our parking? Guests of the overnight should plan to move their cars out of the North Garage by 9am on Saturday (or Sunday) morning. If you are staying on the Museum Campus you can pull back into the North Garage and pay the daily rate or drive closer to the Adler Planetarium to find a metered parking spot. Overnight staff does not have the ability to refund your money if one of the machines malfunctions, so please use at your own risk! Do you have an ATM? There is an ATM at the south entrance of the Museum. Guests will not be able to access the ATM after 8 pm, which is when the south doors are locked. SAFETY QUESTIONS What are the rules? Eat only in designated areas; do not bring food or drinks into the exhibitions. Keep your shoes on (except while sleeping). Keep your shirt and pants on (even when sleeping) Use walking feet (No running). Children and their chaperones must stay together at all times. Respect your fellow overnighters and their belongings while touring Museum exhibitions. Will there be security present at the overnight? Yes. If you or someone in your group needs assistance, please tell a Dozin with the Dinos staff person or Field Museum Protection Services Officer so he/she can escort you to the first aide room.

Behavior that would merit removal from The Museum includes, but is not limited to, belligerence to a staff person or other guest, fighting, possession or consumption of alcohol or illegal substances. Refunds will not be issued. TICKETING QUESTIONS What s different about Premium Package tickets? Premium Package and Tour Package tickets are limited in quantity.
