Beaumanor hall This trip was an outstanding experience one of my favourite and most scary activity was raft building where we built a raft and tested it on the water ours survived YAAAAYYYYY!!! Another thing we did was survival it was awesome we made a hut out of sticks and things and then they simulated the wind by using their hands and tipping buckets of water on us I didn t get wet. Thing we did was hide n seek in the woods in I failed and got found every time. Joe hid in a tree and no body found him at the end he got out and it looked really strange. We also did a murder mystery some people had to be a character the most funniest one was Betsy (which Lewis had to be.) we had to search for clues to find out who did the murder it was a gardener. That s all I can remember of the time it was fun I ll go next year just not sleep. By Max Beaumanor recount At Beaumanor we did lodes of activates. The first activate we did was map reading when we had to find all the places and my group was the first group to find the double doors. And we also brought lodes of sweets and through them at each other. We also slept there and didn t get much sleep so we had to go to school at 10:30am. We all so played hide and seek in the cellars. My favourite activity was raft building because are raft staid together but we decided to jump off anyway the water was cold. We also got to do abseiling that was great fun but some people didn t do it because they got a bit scared but I did it and I thought it scary to but i did start jumping down when I got about a third of the way down. After abseiling we did rock climbing and I got to the top and so did Jacob and T.J. Beaumanor hall by William Beaumanor is a residential for year 5 and 6 in Newton Burgoland primary school and other schools. The activities we did there were raft building, abseiling, rock climbing, hide and seek in the cellars and the woods.

When we went raft building my raft and Lewis, Isaac and Isaac, Sam west extra our raft fell to pieces and we had to swim back to the shore and then we were soaked head to toe. Also when were there we played football with the other schools. As well as this at night time around about 5:30 it was dinner time and the food was lovely first night we had roast dinner and on the second night we had pizza. After dinner on the first night we did hide and seek in the woods. Joe and Isaac both hid up a tree Isaac was the funniest place to hide because were the seekers were seeking Isaac hide straight up above them, Joe hide in a bush/tree and I shone my torch right at him but still could not find him. I hide in the stingers I did not get stung surprisingly. In the cellars it was very fun you had a chance to hide in the light then the lights would go out and then they would go off. In the cellars me, Joe, Jordan and Edward hide in the coloured room behind a pillar 2 times and nobody could find us. Also there was as a room in the cellars were there were loads of pillars and two dips that is where I hide loads of times. The third day at Beaumanor we did rock-climbing and abseiling. First my group went abseiling it was very high the tower was wooden. On the abseiling you went down backwards the scariest part was the starting position. When we did rock-climbing on the first plate that my group did. When we arrived at Beaumanor we had to follow the man in charge to are cabin. This is where we left are kit and set are beds up. After that we arrived at the first activity. Map reading. This was so cool when I got to learn how to use a map. We had to walk around the site to find some clues and get use at Beaumanor. After this we came back to the cabin; we had 5 minutes to play then we started are next amazing activity. Bethany brought a girl talk and we had questions to answer. Act, dare and truth. There was more but I can t remember them. Are next It was survival camp. This was where we made a tent out of sticks and other cool things after are group I Owen, Abi, Katie M and Max had finished we all sat down near the fire that the teachers had made WITH OUT PUTTING SOMTHING ON FIRE!!!! The men made us some hot chocolate, which was lovely, on the fire. Next the teams went under their

shelters then one man poured water over shelters and got us wet. Our team got drenched expressly Abi. Her jeans were so wet she could not walk in them.i was ok until he did it again I was so wet. This isn t all that happened on Monday. No. There is way more exciting things that happened this day. After tea all of us headed down to a grassy area and did a treasure hunt. Murder Mystery. This was where we had to go around in teams and find clues who murdered Lady Richfield. It turned out to people. They pared up and killed her together. It was the gardener and Lady Richfield s nephew Ursula. The story was that Lady Richfield found someone to marry Ursula. Ursula did not like him; she liked the gardener instead. So the both paired up and killed her. Before we went and found out that it was them there were some of my friends dressed up as the victims. Izzy was the horse keeper and Lewis was was a a maid. Hahahahaha it was so funny when he did a strange voice. One Tuesday I and Katie J woke up at 7:00 and the others followed us. Me and Katie J were talking and woke up Katie M and Izzy. After that most of us woke up apart from Bethany H. We woke up and went for breakfast. 30 minutes later Bethany woke up; she made me jump. Her hair was all over the place and so was mine so I can t talk. After that we had a hour to play. Our school played against the other school and we won by 1 point. Yey for us!!!!! Whilst that was happening I was hitting a ball with a tennis racket and the ball bounced off I kept trying to hit it; I missed. After play time we did raft building this is where everyone had to put a life jacket on up at the hill. Most of the girls were complaining that it made them look Fat especially Katie j and Victoria. when we eventually arrived at the lake we were all boiling due to the fact it was a hot day and we had to keep our life jackets on. My group Bethany, Katie J, TJ, Jacob and me made our raft. Ours floated but didn t move. How strange. At night we played a game in the sellers. Hide and seek. That was cool I was just found before time was up. One Wednesday morning we did abseiling and rock climbing. I was the fastest at coming down on the abseiling. This was because I was trying to beat Isaac down to the bottom. He just sat down when I got to the bottom. When I was rock climbing I tried to reach the top but that was so hard. This has been so fun this year I can t wait to spend another with Miss Carter. Thank you! Bethany D

Beaumanor First of all we did the treasure hunt. Me, Dylan and Sam West were in a team. Isaac V.F. tripped over near the end of the zip wire, after that we played murder mystery and Lewis was Betsey. Everyone started laughing; however Dylan and Edward were flicking pencils off the table. That night Lewis fell of his bunk bed and woke me up. Isaac V.F. was in charge because he was the oldest boy in the room. But not a very good one! Before we went to bed we had a HARIBO WAR and we all got bruises. I loved the abseiling wall because I was the only one that did a 720. I helped Oliver do the abseiling because he was scared but when he got down he said he did it for the ham sandwiches. I enjoyed the water fight because Lewis, Sam W and I had the biggest water guns. BY ISAAC R. Beaumanor Hall As we got off the bus for Beaumanor Hall, everyone collected their bags from the bus. We walked to our cabins; we took our shoes off and looked around. As we got out of our cabins we put our shoes back on and 2 men told us that we were going to do a treasure hunt. In my group was Bethany Davis and Isobel Pike. After the treasure hunt we went back to the cabins. At the end of every activity we went back to the cabins. Then we waited for another member of staff to come and tell us what we were going to do next. When he came, he told us that we were going to do a murder mystery; at that moment I got a chill. In my group there was Isobel Pike and Jordan Harvey and they were both suspects. All of the suspects were Jon Hay (Isobel), Lots of money (Sam which was a girl ), Betsy (Lewis who was also a girl )And one other one that I forgot. After the murder mystery, we went to play hide and seek in the woods. Isaac VF hid in a tree and Isobel shone a torch at him but didn t find him. I hid down in the bushes and Dylan and Isaac R found me as well as a lot more people because they hid there last time I didn t think about that. As we got back to the cabins we all settled down in our beds, and as soon as we knew it, it was bed time. We were planning to have a mid-night snack but it turned into a as soon as we got in bed snack. We were all tired and we didn t want to be cranky in the morning, so we all went to sleep but then Victoria started crying because she didn t like the dark. After that we needed to keep a light on, which really annoyed me. When Victoria stopped,

Bethany Davis started to cry because she was home sick so Bethany had to get out of bed again then I fell asleep so I didn t know what happened next. In the morning the sound of Bethany Davis and Katie laughing woke nearly all of us up except for Bethany Hudson. They said they were laughing because we were all sleeping funny but I have to admit the impression of Bethany Hudson posing in the night was pretty funny that Katie did. In the morning we all had breakfast I had corn flakes. When Bethany Hudson got out of bed we all cheered. Some people went outside to play football. Then a man came and told us that we were going to do raft building. Then we set sail on them, ours sunk and then barrels fell off so I jumped off and landed in green stuff. It was gross. As I jumped off I started to swim back, when I got on land I STUNK!! We rode back on a mini bus; I was talking to Victoria on the way back. Most of the girls got a shower. Me, Bethany Davis and Katie J were the first ones in because we didn t do the water fight. I didn t want to do it because I just wanted to not smell like dirty water. After that Bethany had to run back to the cabin in her bikini. I thought was so funny. Then we all went to play hide and seek in the cellars; I hid behind a big door they found me first. The thing that creeped me out was that Dylan was going hellooo like a ghost. That was the last thing we did that day. Before we went to bed everybody went outside; I was in my pjs. Then we all had hot chocolate and some biscuits at 10 pm and Lewis had a staring competition. His eyes started watering. I also had a glass of milk like most other people. In the morning we had breakfast again. After that we went in two groups in my group we did abseiling which is where you tie a rope around you and go down a really tall wall. After all that my group went rock climbing and I got to the top of the hardest climbing wall. I really loved Beaumanor I m looking forward to next time and all the fun we will have then. Katie M xx My time at Beaumanor hall By Owen Beaumanor is a residential trip in class 4 at at the end of the year, most of the class go to Beaumanor. At Beaumanor we do different activities. My favourite activity was hide and seek in the cellars because when he teachers were the seekers and there was only one person who didn t get found, that was Abigail. She didn t tell us where he was hiding, but if it was a brilliant hiding place I don t blame her.

I also enjoyed survival because we made shelters, and at the end we got tested to see if our shelter was stronger enough to cope with the rain and winds that could happen in the day and at night. Our shelter came second. The hobbit house came last. In the boys cabin we were suppose to have a midnight feast, however Max and I were extremely tried and we wanted to go sleep because after we had finished all the activities it was ten PM Also I really enjoyed the water fight because everyone got wet, even Mrs Ward I especially got wet, because Isaac VF and Isaac R has super soakers and pumped it up loads and then squirted it at me. I m really looking forward to next year, because we are going to be doing different activities to what we did this year. However, we will still be doing hide and seek in the cellars and hide and seek in the woods. In our spare time we would of played football with the other schools or of stayed in our cabin and played games or ate sweets. As well as that, we also did raft building and my group raft was the only group who s didn t sink. Isaac VF s group raft sank completely because he started dissemble it before they got to shore. Because of all of this I m really looking forward to next year!! Beaumanor is an every year residential trip for year 5 and 6. It is enjoyed by most people that go there and consists of many activities. My favourite activity has to be raft building; you have to work as a team to make a floating raft that you race on against the other teams. My teams raft sunk because there was a race to get onto land and disassemble it. Isaac started disassembling it before we got to shore! We had to swim all the way back but it was more fun falling in. I also enjoyed hide and seek in the woods; the funniest moment was probably when Isaac hid in a tree like a monkey. I shone a really bright torch right at Joe and didn t find him!!! With abseiling, I was the first one to go down. It was really scary at first because I didn t like descending backwards. However, halfway down I started to enjoy it. In the girls cabin we were supposed to have a midnight feast but we all became extremely tired and it turned into an 11 o clock snack. We did not like it when we all got woken up by Mrs. Ward at 7:15am! In the awesome water fight most of the boys had super soakers and we all got drenched!

It was really funny when Bethany ran out to go to the shower in her bikini and Jacob was outside and saw her. She ran straight back in screaming! In our free time we always played football against the other school there, and we always won. Because of all of this, I am really looking forward to next year. By Isobel This year at Beaumanor I enjoyed raft building, rock climbing, hide and seek in the woods and the cellars. At Beaumanor I liked the raft building because my team did the best at manufacturing are raft because ours didn t fall apart of sink. Also I was really fast at rock climbing even though I m scared of heights and climbing at heights. I thought that it was going to be really scary in the cellars because I m not a fan off the dark so I hid with my friends and once they all got spotted apart from me and I was one of the last survivors in are class. Hide and seek in the woods was really good because Joe and Isaac vf where never spotted and they kept on going past Joe they looked in the spot where he was hiding and did not find him, Isaac vf was in a tree where they could see him but they walked strait passed him. I can t wait till next time Dear all at Newton Burgoland primary school, I m going to share my favourite memories from Beaumanor Residential trip. On the journey to Beaumanor, everyone s hearts were pounding with excitement as we boarded the coach and waved good bye to our parents; apart from my dad who came with us. On the coach, Abi and I tried to entertain ourselves by playing guess my number which was not very exciting. I was constantly asking Abi what time it was. Every time it was exactly 20 mins past,30,40 until finally arriving at around 49 minutes past. When we were walking down to the cabins my bag broke several times so I was far behind. When we got into the cabins I swapped beds at least 4 times also. After we put all our stuff down on our beds, we went outside for a treasure hunt which I think I wasn t very good at. We also did survival later that day where we had to make a shelter. Ours failed but not quite as bad as Oliver s group s hobbit house!! After that we also had some hot chocolate which was

only made by fire water and coco (it was horrible).later that night we played hide and seek in the woods; I got scared though and came out; Isaac VF hid up a tree and no-one found him!!.at around half ten we had a hot chocolate which had milk in it; it tasted much better yum. We also had a midnight feast, however we became tired so it was a 11:30 feast!!. The next day we had breakfast. For me it was just plain toast however there was jam and cereal as well.next we went to raft building, our raft was unfortunate as it fell apart, so we fell in. Lewis had to save me and Abi from the water as we are not good swimmers. After raft building Bethany H, Katie J,Beth D and Izzy went for a shower. When Bethany Hudson was walking over to have a shower,in her bikini, well... Jacob was outside!!!!.some of the girls who were brave enough ( Isobel Bethany H and I) went out for a water fight and totally soaked Mrs. Ward, as well as my dad. Not forgetting us, we got soaked by the boys. That night we played hide and seek in the cellars; I was very scared as Dylan was saying in a ghostly voice heeellllo I d rather forget that memory! So I hid in a room with quite a lot of people in; however when we were finished in the cellars I had finally got over my fear of the dark. We then we went back to our cabins and had a wonderful hot chocolate before going to bed. Some of us wanted to stay up however we were to loud so Miss Carter told us we had to go to sleep. The next morning everyone was sad about leaving but ready to face our last frightful activities well... 2 activities but 1 was ok. First we had 45mins to pack, I probably took the longest because Miss Carter had to help zip up my suitcase whilst I was sitting on it! Then we put all our stuff in the shed and all went into the cabin; whilst Isobel was vacuuming that I found 5 more things under my bed and had to race over to the shed to put it. Then we went to meet two men who were going to take us rock climbing and abseiling!!! My group went abseiling first, I went 3 rd out of the group it was petrifying but I looked down ; I thought, the other children were still alive so I will be to so I built up my courage and went down. It was really fun; I m glad I went down however some people were really scared like me, yet they did it. There was only about 4 or 5 who didn t and 1 of them regretted it. We then went rock climbing, I was in a group with Izzy, Katie M, Beth D and I. I was last to go up but it was worth the wait my group did the 1 st,2 nd and 4 th wall; I got up all of them apart from the 4 th I got half way up. Afterwards we went for a well earned lunch I had ham (yum, yum).we also went to the gift shop where I got 4 different things. My most disturbing memory from Beaumanor was when I just got out my swimming costume and my towel fell down; let s just say I was not happy!!!! These are my wonderful memories from beaumanor, and some not so good memories. Thank you for reading. Victoria xxx
