2 The Initute of Chartered Accountants of India (Set up by an Act of Parliament) The Initute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is the national professional accounting body of India. It was eablished on 1 July 1949 as a atutory body under the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 enacted by the Parliament (acting as the provisional Parliament of India) to regulate the profession of Chartered Accountancy in India. ICAI is the second large professional Accounting & Auditing body in the world in terms of membership. ICAI is the only licensing cum regulating body of the inancial audit and accountancy profession in India. It recommends the Accounting Standards to be followed by companies in India to National Advisory Committee on Accounting Standards (NACAS) and sets the Accounting Standards to be followed by other types of organisations. ICAI is solely responsible for setting the Standards on Auditing (SAs) to be followed in the audit of inancial atements in India. It also issues other technical andards like Standards on Internal Audit (SIA), Corporate Affairs Standards (CSA) etc., to be followed by practicing Chartered Accountants. It works closely with the Government of India, Reserve Bank of India and the Securities and Exchange Board of India in formulating and enforcing such andards. Southern India Regional Council (SIRC) SIRC was formed on 1 April 1952 to serve the members and udents in Southern Region. SIRC covers the States of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. SIRC has 45 Branches, 11 CPE Study Circles, 4 CPE Chapters, 5 CPE Study Groups and 30 CPE Study Circles to members in indury. SIRC has 55,843 members and about 2,29,400 udents. SIRC is the knowledge hub of the profession, providing continuing professional education to its members and udents. Hyderabad Branch of SIRC of ICAI The Hyderabad Branch is the Second large branch of ICAI which came into exience on 1 April, 1962 and is the mo vibrant branch of ICAI which had the privilege of getting several be branch awards in the recent pa. It conducts programmes, both academic and educative for the Chartered Accountants, as well as udents pursuing Chartered Accountancy Course and the society at large. The Branch has 8300 members and around 56,000 CA Students. DCO and ICAI Centre of Excellence (COE) Hyderabad DCO & COE is spread over 2.82 acres with a lush green cover in the mo preigious and inancial hub of the city. They are in close proximity to some of the leading corporate houses of the country, global organizations and multinational banks that facilitates excellence in teaching, research, consulting and other professional activities prevails over the DCO & COE. A ate of art network of computers adorns the conference hall having late software for training purposes.

3 The illiterate of the 21 century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn - Alvin Tof ler. Learning is a continuous process. It is humankind's conant endeavor to learn that has led to new discoveries, inventions, and all growth. Physically, our growth ops at a certain age, but mentally we can continue to grow for as long as we are alive. Some lessons are willfully and consciously learned, while some are learned because we refuse to learn. A professional who ceases to learn or is reluctant to learn will soon become irrelevant, as the world has moved on. Hence, it is not ju important to learn, but to also unlearn, as what was learnt earlier is no longer relevant. Learning is not ju sitting in a classroom or being with a maer teacher. Liening to an expert is always enriching, as it often provides you with inant learning, which should become the arting point of your journey for learning something new. Learning is also through interaction with other persons in que of learning. Each person is an encyclopedia of knowledge, gained from unique experiences and an opportunity to share thoughts and explore new ways of looking at the same thing. 4 Charminar Situated bang in the heart of the old city of Hyderabad, the Charminar (Urdu Char meaning Four and Minar meaning Tower) is one of the mo recognized monuments in India. It is the architectural icon for the city of Hyderabad, equivalent to the likes of the Taj Mahal of Agra or the Eiffel Tower of Paris and is the mo searched hiorical site of the city on Google. The imposing monument ands regally tall amid the colorful bangle shops in the labyrinthine Laad Bazar of the old city and presents a beautiful glittering sight after nightfall (7pm-9pm). It is currently maintained by the Archeological Survey of India. The Charminar is situated on the eaern banks of Musi River with the Makka Masjid, another famous Qutub Shahi architecture, in the vicinity. Birla Mandir / Planitorium The gliening white ructure dotting the skyline of modern Hyderabad, Birla Mandir is located towards the southern end of Hussain Sagar Lake in Hyderabad. It situated atop the Kala Pahad which is a twin hillock of Naubat Pahad. The Birlas built the temple in 1976 and conructed it with white marbles imported from Rajahan. The hillock is at a height of 280- feet situated on a 13-acre plot. The conruction took almo a decade to complete and was consecrated in the same year by Swami Ranganathananda of Ramakrishna Mission. Birla Foundation, known for conructing other similar temples across the country is the patron of Birla Mandir at Hyderabad too. Buddha atue in Hussain Sagar Lake A 350 ton world's talle monolith Buddha atue in the middle of the Hussain Sagar lake is one of the city's main attraction. Located in the heart of the city, the lake is a prominent promenade for the citizens. The Statue surrounded by recreational amusement parks. This place is crowded in the morning by itness freak of Hyderabad along physical exercises. In the evening this place occupied by families and enjoying great evening of Hyderabad. Golkonda Fort The Golkonda Fort is located in an area 3km in radius. Now deserted, it was a prize that the Mughals fought for and is also believed to be the home of the famous Kohinoor Diamond that now adorns the British Crown. Its acouics are a marvel, with the sound made at the foot of the Fort somehow reaching the top. A son et Lumiere (Sound & Light Show) is guaranteed to be a highlight on visiting the Fort. Ramoji Film City Spread over 1666 acres, the Ramoji Film City is the large integrated ilm city in Telangana and has been certi ied by the Guinness World Records as the large udio complex in the world. It was built by Telugu ilm producer Ramoji Rao in It is also a popular tourism and recreation centre, containing natural and arti icial attractions including an amusement park. Around 1.5 million touris visit the place every year. The ilm city is the brainchild of ilm producer Ramoji Rao, who wanted to build a udio similar to the ones in Hollywood. On procuring the land, he signed art director Nitesh Rao to design the complex. According to an executive, the builders kept the land, which at that time consied of jungles and mountainous terrain, intact, without removing one tree or mountain. the pearl city...
