Once it stops working we will not have any sound, as well the Finance Council has been listening to the input from parishioners about not always being able to hear. The Council has decided to invest in a new sound system that offers modern technology for a structure of our size and stature. The cost will be approximately $26,000 plus tax. The system will have seven speakers that will be distributed throughout the church and one in the parish centre. The cost per speaker will be $3500. If any parishioners would like to donate a speaker, it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact the office or Father if you are interested. 4 St. Michael s Basilica Parish Super Draw June 14, 2015 We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all those who took part in the Super Draw for Because of your efforts, the Draw was very successful. Special thanks are extended to the Group Chairs Marilyn Elliott, Elaine Jimmo, Carol/Harold Fleiger, Patricia Lee, Gena Skidd, Marven McCarthy and Paul O Hara. They not only acquired the necessary ticket sellers but also sold great numbers of tickets themselves. The commitment of our parishioners who sold tickets is truly commendable. There were over 125 people who took the time to sell tickets for the Parish and we should note that there were several who sold 50 or more. (The top salesperson, once again, was Marilyn Elliott.) To all of you, we owe a special thank you. Our gratitude is extended to all of the businesses and individuals that donated, sponsored and/or provided prizes for the Draw Brand Source Renaud s Home Furnishings, Lounsbury Furniture, Patterson s Sales and Service, True Tronic Computers, Maureen O Hara Vigneau, Siddall s Jewellery, J. Blake Harriman, David & Gena Skidd, Towne Ford Sales & Service, Sobeys Inc. Douglastown, Atlantic Super Store Johnston Street and Giant Tiger. They should be commended for their community involvement. Also, our thanks are offered to all of those that made donations or sponsored advertisements on the ticket. Because of them, we were able to achieve the success we had. Cil Hickey and her committee organized a group that served a lunch in the Parish Centre, following the mass. We owe them and the many who prepared the sandwiches and sweets a debt of gratitude. To those who prepared the tickets for the draw and to Harold Fleiger and Gena Skidd for making the draws, we offer our thanks. Thank you all for the support that you have given to St. Michael s. It is truly appreciated.
