Hong Kong rock consumption in 2012 = 13.8M Tonnes Predominantly sourced from Anderson Road and Lam Tei Quarries 40% of supply is sourced by local quarry operators in Hong Kong 60% of the rock and aggregates are sourced from mainland China Regulators full time onsite (Anderson Road and Lam Tei, 2 regulators per site) Heavily regulated, Government own the Explosives and Magazines Dump Trucks generally CAT 769 s CAT 988 FEL s No sales loaders, road freight load aggregate straight from silos Environmentally very sound operations Issue with younger operators not coming through as major rehabilitation project ends in 2017 also Quarrying not trendy

27 Quarry manager s working day Spends a lot of time offsite, building relationships with stakeholders Wining and dining with government need to be able to drink!!! Standard day onsite is approx 9 hr working day, which includes a 2 hr sleep after lunch, in their purpose built office bedrooms (something we believe that Australia should adopt!)

29 Southern China Quarrying Still high level of government persuasion Explosives Providers (4 down hole leads is the standard practice) Pay off diesel delivery driver otherwise you receive 25% water in diesel Pay off manufacturers of crushers etc to get good service Pay off Government to get a Development Approval passed through quickly High Death & Serious Injury Rate (20k seriously injured and approx 900 killed in 2012) Operators live onsite and work 6-7 days per week, 10 hours per day Operators go home for their one week annual leave per annum Fixed Plant sound but mobile fleet very small compared to tonnes moved (20T excavators and 20T road trucks the normal configuration Overload trucks 100% by building 1.5m headboards on each side, truck lasts two years before chassis breaks. Haul Truck cost approx $120k AU

41 After the some confusion, an interpreter and perhaps difference in how we measure, we determined that the size of the primary cone crusher was. BIG!!! as you would imagine for a plant running at 3,000t per hour.

42 Load and haul consist of - 40 x 30t excavators - 60 x 40t haul trucks Reason for using small excavators Is to prevent oversize in crusher, as the biggest rock they can pick up is the top feed size of the primary crusher YMN offered many valuable suggestions to the quarry manager around potential alternatives and cost savings
