Ronan is the Global Aviation Skills Leader within Arup, representing the wide range of disciplines / services that Arup offer to the Aviation market. Recently he has been assisting the Arup Asia Offices on two Major Airport Expansion Projects each with over 100 Million annual Passengers in size. He has also been working on a variety of capacity expansion projects at Sydney Airport. Prior to this he was the engineering design manager for several large airport expansion projects like the Brisbane Domestic Terminal Expansion Projects, SkyPlaza (HKG T2) and SkyPier (Cross Boundary Ferry Terminal) at Hong Kong International Airport; and on Beijing Capital International Airport T3 (for the Beijing Olympics in 2008). Ronan moved to the Arup Sydney Office in late 2007, after spending 15 years in the Arup East Asia Offices (Hong Kong and Beijing) and prior to that he was based for five years in the Arup London office. Ronan has a structural engineering background and he has been managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams on major projects for over 25 years. Ronan has over 25 years of design and construction experience of major international integrated transport projects. He is the Arup Global Aviation Skills Leader and can tap into the vast network of Aviation Designers within the Arup global family. Covering aspects from Airport Security, BHS Systems, Apron Efficiency Initiatives, Terminal Modelling and Passenger Flow Assessment Research, Air Traffic Control Systems (Remote Towers), Aircraft Noise Modelling and Energy / Sustainability Driven Research. Also involved in industry engagement on the impacts of Next Generation Aircraft Technologies on airport efficiency and infrastructure modifications that will come from the roll out across the globe. Singapore Changi International Airport Terminal 5, Singapore Aug 2016 October 2017 Review of the proposed Changi East Development including the new Terminal 5 and associated aprons / airfield facilities masterplan and concept design. Then aviation advisor role for the Arup / Mott / SJ / RSP Engineering Consortium bids for the detailed design stage of the Terminal 5 and GTC projects. These projects

2 will provide an additional 75 Million Passengers Per annum capacity for the airport and is associated with the new 3 rd Runway project. Sydney International Airport SW Sector Remote Stands Capacity Enhancements, July 2016 June 2017 Project Director and aviation advisor role for the expansion of the SW Sector Remote Stands (8 Code C and 5 Code F MARS Stands), including an assessment of the existing road network and tunnel capacities and GSE / Bay Services upgrades to the MARS stand configurations. These bays will then be used as full service remote bussing bays, for aircraft arrivals and departures in peak periods. Hong Kong International Airport Third Runway Concourse, Hong Kong SAR, China April 2016 July 2016 Review of Third Runway Systems airfield and terminal / airfield facilities master-plan and concept design. Then aviation advisor role for the Arup / Mott JV bid for the detailed design stage of the TRC Terminal and ATC Tower Expansion project. Sydney International Airport Pier B Capacity Enhancements, February 2016 November 2016 Project Director and aviation advisor role for the expansion of Pier B Sydney Airport T1. Including the provision of a newly configured gates / bays Bay 30, 31 and 32, to service a range of next generation aircraft like B787 and A350 aircraft. Introducing new dual bridge bays and an enhanced passenger experience, following the Sydney 2020 Vision agreed with the airlines. Sydney International Airport Pier C Capacity Enhancements, June 2015 November 2016 Project Director and aviation advisor role for the continued expansion of Pier C Sydney Airport T1. Including the provision of several newly configured gates / bays to service a range of next generation aircraft like A380, B787, A350 aircraft. Introducing new dual bridge bays and an enhanced expanded passenger retail / amenities offering, following the Sydney 2020 Vision agreed with the airlines. Sydney International Airport Pier B Bay 31 Enhancements, June November 2016 Project Director and aviation advisor role for the expansion of Pier B Sydney Airport T1. Including the provision of a newly configured Bay 31 to service a range of next generation aircraft like B787 and A350 aircraft. Introducing new dual bridge bays and addressing some prior operational difficulties.

3 Sydney International Airport Gate Enhancements, Sydney, NSW, Australia February 2014 July 2015 Project Director and aviation review role for the provision of several new gates (Bay 50, Bay 54 and Bays 51 & 53) to service a range of larger aircraft and some next generation aircraft like B787 and A350 aircraft (Which have started operations into Australia. Helping Sydney Airport to get more efficient use of their high value assets, stream-lining the operations and confirming gate / aerodrome compliance aspects to CASA MOS 139. Sydney Airport International Terminal / Airfield Expansion Projects, November 2012 July 2014 Project Director for the expansion plans for the International Terminal T1 at Sydney Airport, to cater for increased A380 (Code F aircraft) Operations, involving stand planning and internal terminal lounge and hold room planning studies. Also the detailed design, specification and implementation / construction & commissioning stages. Also Project Director on a supporting structure over Botany Bay at the end of the main runway to support the flight control landing lights to upgrade the airport operations to CAT II (allowing aircraft to land in fog or lower visibility conditions). Involved modifications to the sea-wall, runway closers and major crane lifts in a complex maritime / airfield environment. Melbourne Airport Southern Precinct Programme / T4 Expansion Projects, Melbourne, VIC, Australia November 2011 December 2013 Project aviation technical advisor role for the southern precinct area to provide increased capacity for expected growth in low cost carriers and to make way for future phases of the overall airport terminal growth to meet 2030 forecasted demand. Will involve a new terminal with a processer terminal, retail and airline lounge areas and 10 gate lounges. Also provision of a new multi-level car park and precinct drop off facility. Sydney International Airport Aerobridge Assessment, March 2011 September 2011 Project Director and review role for the assessment of the maintenance regimes at SYD Terminals 1 and 2, covering 50 Aerobridges ranging from dedicated Code F to regional Code C configurations. Brisbane Domestic Terminal (Precinct) Expansion Projects, Brisbane, QLD, Australia October 2007 July 2010 Project Engineering Manager for the design of the new Domestic Precinct Expansion, including a new check-in pavilion adjacent to the existing domestic terminal; an extension to the existing common user terminal and satellite buildings (providing seven new contact stands); a new 5,000 bay multi-level car park; a 300

4 room hotel; a 7,500 m² office and a new central energy plant servicing the whole precinct. Based in the Arup Sydney office, working with the Sydney based architectural team. Coordinating the various Arup Australian and International offices involved in the multidisciplinary design. Review of the preparation of the Master Development Plans associated with the staged implementation of the project. Undertaking various future safeguarding projects for an inter-terminal automated people mover system to connect the International and Domestic precincts to the rest of the airport business districts, and to the transport hubs (Air-Train, Bus Terminal, Central Parking areas), review of potential connectivity to the future Northern Terminal Expansion at the Domestic Terminal and to a planned future terminal associated with the New Parallel Runway, post The domestic precinct capacity is forecast to grow from the current 12 MAP (Million Annual Passengers) (in 2007) to over 33 MAP by 2030, with the whole airport growing to a total of 45 MAP by Hong Kong International Airport Sky Pier (HKIA T3) Development, Hong Kong October 2004 January 2008 Project Engineering Manager of the joint venture team (SAJV including Arup and Mott MacDonald) set up to do the design of the new Ferry Terminal Sky Pier 2 (T3) linked to Sky Plaza (T2) at Hong Kong International Airport by an underground Automated People Mover Rail System and a dedicated BHS system as well as back up tunnel network to support a tug and dolly operation to connect to the main terminal system. This involved the design and construction of a new underground station underneath the proposed ferry terminal and the integration into the terminal planning and construction. The building was designed to allow for a future expansion and the potential to build a hotel above. HKIA Way-finding/Signage Study, Hong Kong February 2007 December 2007 Project Manager of the term consultancy for the Hong Kong Airport Authority, to provide a manual for the integration of new projects into the existing Wayfinding system and to investigate options for enhancing the existing signage to cater for the future forecast passenger growth. The Design Work was undertaken by the Arup London Wayfinding specialist team. HKIA Baggage Handling System Upgrade (Hong Kong) March 2006 October 2007 Team Leader for this enhancement project for the Hong Kong Airport Authority, to upgrade the capacity of the existing baggage handling system to cater for the forecast growth in passengers and the change in passenger profiles to a more significant transfer mode. It involves the addition of many new baggage conveyor belts and sortation / screening points as well as an enhanced early bag storage factory, and assessing the supporting working steel platforms inside the operational baggage hall in Terminal 1 Processing Terminal.

5 Third Air Cargo Terminal Bid HKIA (Hong Kong) October 2006 January 2007 Airport Advisor to the Arup multidisciplinary engineering team that was assisting a local developer s bid for the proposed new Third Air Cargo Terminal at HKIA. Hong Kong International Airport Sky Plaza (HKIA Terminal 2) Development, Hong Kong October 2004 February 2007 Project Engineering Manager of the joint venture team (SAJV including Arup and Mott MacDonald) for the design of Terminal 2 (SkyPlaza) at Hong Kong International Airport, reviewing the construction stages of the project and the additional enhancement and interface projects that were instigated during the construction stages. This project has a series of check-in desks and these are connected through to the main terminal via a new BHS System. It also had an automated People Mover System that was extended from the existing one. Both involved complex integration works within a live working environment. APM Study HKIA, Hong Kong January 2005 July 2005 Project Manager for the term consultancy for the Hong Kong Airport Authority, to investigate the options for enhancing the existing facilities (Automated People Mover and Baggage Handling Systems) to cater for the future forecast passenger growth and the possible additional mid-field concourse. This formed part of the HKIA 2025 Master Plan Study and informed the short-term service enhancement projects. Involved the production of passenger flow modelling linked to train and station capacity modelling to determine additional Vertical Transportation needs and any pinch points in the system. Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA) Terminal 3 & GTC, China October 2003 December 2005 Project Engineering Manager for the joint venture team set up to do the design of the new terminal for BCIA. Based in Beijing in the Naco Foster Arup Joint Venture (NFAJV) offices managing the international Arup offices involved in the multidisciplinary design. The terminal has 930,000m² floor area and accommodates 72 Contract Stands for both international and domestic airlines. The capacity of T3 is over 40MAP. At the time the BHS system (designed by BNP) was to be one of the largest system installations in the world, Arup provided all the engineering support to the design of the mega bag halls. As part of the design there was the need to design a Ground Transportation Centre (GTC) for the Airport Express Airport Terminus, and a major parking facility, it also had provision for Bag drops and a baggage distribution system safeguarded into the building layouts.
